I was surprised he did this, but then I remembered he actually has theater training, so it makes sense he was able to pull it off. Dude has a nice voice and his pronunciation is great.

Listen I love Lud, and he did a good job here, but you say your a classically trained musician, so you surely know this is all pitch corrected. That is a big no in Opera. Opera singers spend decades honing their craft perhaps save the tears for them lol.

Opera singers train their voices to be heard live and in person, this is a recorded piece of media, and maybe a big wakeup call, using pitch correction tools for a commercial release is common practice. It's like comparing apples to oranges, It's about the end product here.
Also, this isn't a video trying to demoralize real opera singers, if anything it's an appreciation post for their dedicated work and a nice way to shout out such music.

Listening to this music after our grandmother passed away an hour ago. Life is complicated and in many ways, hectic. We part with our loved ones but the memories shall remain, and as the title of the title that ludwig has covered, its time to say goodbye. Not everything remains, life keeps on moving forward, and i hope you guys who read this cherish the moments you have and live life to the fullest. Love you ludbuds and happy holidays. Thank you for your words. I know what you’re going trough. My grandma died last year, the original version of this song is what my grandpa though she would have wanted to listen to as we all left. Life keeps on going even after someone important exits it. You shouldn’t stay caught up on that loss but remember the person as you move on. You need to make new memories and add them to your old.
i know from years of training that classical singing is NOT easy, i’m so genuinely impressed with ludwig for this 😭
The audio engineer ihave much merit aswell, he corrected many pitch errors, made the voice lines smoother, but still, you can only correct so much with editing, Ludwig must have sang that pretty well aswell.
