      hahahaha there was one game I cannot remember when it was but I believe it was a playoff game and he was imitating people who nag on him after he gave an enthusiastic commentary and was like oh he's such a homer-get over it! lmfao still so funny I love jack Edwards, I hope he never leaves, most other commentators are boring and I notice don't even say the correct players when depicting the game or at least for the bruins that is, its annoying.

    also, Jack is fucking hilarious. Obviously, if you're not a Bruins fan you're not going to like him, but if he were your teams announcer, you'd LOVE him. He's the only hockey announcer left that actually gets genuinely excited about the game. Not only Bruins goals, but the opposing team's goals as well. If you don't beleive me, just watch highlights of Game 7 vs. Toronto. He said "the Toronto Maple Leafs are running the bruins out if their own building", because they were. And when the bruins won it in OT he freaked out, just like every other bruins fan. So hate him all you want, but don't spew idiotic falsehoods that you cannot back up. He gets excited about every exciting hit, pass, goal, save, by ANY team because he loves the game of hockey.

      Rick Jeannerette gets excited. He rarely makes a jackass of himself like Edwards does. RJ does go overboard with hits sometimes, but purely volume based. Jack Edwards just makes a fool out of himself with his hyperboles and similes

      Patsfan 28 Absolutely not. Homers don't have a place on national broadcasting. Doc gets equally excited for both teams. That's what makes him good for everyone. He gets excited for your team like Edwards does but gets just as excited for the other team so their fans are happy. No local broadcasting anchor should be part of the national broadcasting team

    I don't know why so many people hate on him. I personally love him. Some people just don't realize that he's a local commentator, meaning he's focused on the Bruins. He's just a fan and for some reason, people hate him for it. Just doesn't make sense to me

    • @zahcad4

      +Jurassic Bruin because he so bias toward other teams while other commentators are not.

    • @macracer49
      @macracer49 8 лет назад +2

      +Jurassic Bruin Its not completely Jack Edwards himself. It's NESN and the Bruins organization. I understand being bias, because I work for a local sports network and our commentators are bias, but not as much as Edwards. Its one thing be be bias, but its another thing to have a lack of respect for the opponent. My favorite Play by Play commentator is Jim Hughson.

    • @Jake_Broer

      Agreed, every team has an play by play guy like Jack who knows who is audience is, they are fans of the home team. The thing is, not a lot of those guys are on TV anymore, a lot of the "homer" announcers are on radio. I'm a die hard Leafs fan who obviously has some sort of Stockholm syndrome or I am a saddist to even watch this video let alone defend the guy making the call, that aside our "homer" announcer is Joe Bowen and he is the absolute best because he's a die hard fan that knows his audience is too. I'm sure if he was still on TV people would say the same. We all have em, we love em, don't deny it.

    Greatest sporting event I’ve ever witnessed. I sat ice level. Rajon Rondo was in the first row, and I was right behind him. He left after Toronto scored their fourth goal…woops! Talk about epic… Gives me chills to this day. BERGERON!!

      peter , one guy was saying he was at the celtics game last yr when Tatum got the layup to beat Brooklyn at the buzzer to win game. He said it was by far the loudest he'd ever heard the building in his life. U think this goal was louder? I'd think so

    • @peterkasturas6179
      @peterkasturas6179 Год назад

      I’m sure the place must’ve exploded when Tatum hit that layup in the last second against Brooklyn, but that game seven against Toronto was absolutely epic! Down three goals with 10 minutes left. I was personally rallying my whole section. Nathan Horton scored with about 10 minutes left. Then, Milan Lucic scored with about a minute and a half left…and then Patrice to tie it with about 40 seconds left It was surreal! We actually almost won it in the final seconds of regulation, but that only delayed the inevitable… Bergeron in overtime! The place went absolutely bonkers. That game tying goal though with 41 seconds left was the loudest I’ve ever heard that stadium.

    You won't find a guy that loves hockey and appreciates the game more than Jack Edwards. Every announcer roots for their home team. You narrate their every move for 80+ games a year -- they are your life. Jack is no exception. But he is as balanced, if not more so, than any announcer -- he shows appreciation for the skill, character, hard work and grit of EVERY player, not just those with the spoked B. And he does so more than the average announcer. People conflate his enthusiasm for homerism.

    Passion and heart. Yes, he’s disrespectful towards other teams and needs to change that, but the passion, the heart, that’s what you want in a commentator. You don’t want some dry ass commentary.

    you know what. you my friend are spot on that! I'm a Hawks fan so I listen to Pat Foley & Edzo but IMO Foley is one of the least biased announcers in the NHL. I like how intense Edwards gets and the emotion and intensity he shows when announcing.
