  • Many manufacturers recommend ground stacking configuration for their line array. In this video, I will share few reasons why it is bad to ground stack the line array. If you insist to ground stack configuration, then I will share some tips you can do to "improve" this configuration.

Ground stacking time aligns the speakers well (if you have completely vertical, averaging ear height) but only useful for outdoors with sparse audience. Flying throws the sound better and more uniform SPL but is harder to set up and not as good time alignment up close.

you can use fly sub to solve that. but when the array is too long, there still have time alignment issues with bottom boxes. and the half power of the sub due to moving a half space to full spaces

Two line arrays often sound better than a full range speaker at high volumes because of the wattage difference. I suppose if more sound people used the full range speakers within their specs I would feel different. Anyhow thank you for the nugget of knowledge to our sound community. Makes alot of sense

Both will sound great when ise correctly. However line array indeed provide higher fidelity in the HF due to the waveguide horn design. Higher Watt does not equal to good sounding

@@ericcheesaihoo Higher watt gives it a better chance! lol!

What would you suggest for a single person using keyboard and vocals playing bass with left hand and synth with right hand for a 300 person room ?

One person show go for column speaker. Save your space, and back bone

Would you recommend audio center line array or subwoofers?

I personally do not see the essence in ground stacking line arrays regardless of the number. It defeats the whole purpose of a line array in the first place.

2 factors: 1) Payment does not justifying setup of truss 2) Lazy to more work

Yeah it's like trying to light your entire house with a one flashlight.

hahaha.. true.. but some people still argue that with one flashlight, it still illuminates the space

Yes, I have stacked my Klipsch speakers a-b for many year's and testing both ways.... I'll never un stack them! I started with analog and digital has destroyed more sound than stacking has. All them year's of CD junk would be a better topic today.
If you want to sound live like a concert, then stack like a concert.
