if you do a video like this again, you should do it based off of how many streams the song has (apple music, spotify, etc.) cuz the popularity of the song would probably be most accurate based on how many people listen to it, cuz less people watch the actual music video for these songs

With Lion Sleeps, you could actually argue it for a top 3 spot, including covers, due to The Lion King (cgi remake) being the biggest animated film of all time until earlier this year in terms of the global box office, which only counts in theaters, not DVD, Disney+, etc. Over 1.6 billion US dollars, plus 770 mil in the 1994 run and 180 mil in the original film 3d 2011 rerun in theaters, and not accounting for inflation, the films that the song is most known for made around $2.5 billion in theaters alone. Plus add on home video and you likely have billions of listens, not counting CDs, vinyl, or streaming just through two films. Also add in the sales of Just Dance Kids 2, the plays on Unlimted and Now of the JDK2 version, and yeah I think Lion Sleeps is def top 3 at least.

@JustMattOFC Right, I'll tell you a tip, on mobile app for spotify you won't find numbers, however go to the spotify on PC and if you go the albums of the specific songs you want, then there are streams shown for all the songs. it doesn't work sadly with playlist but if you check albums it should be good
Interesting vid! But I'm kind of concerned about your methodology because something like Vogue is way more known than like Pink Venom. I think maybe if it's taken from RUclips there may be some recency bias
@@cneale9431 the RUclips Views are not Fair, and there's some songs that are more famous than others in the front but are not on front because are New, but i am doing a video with the Spotify Streams, that will be more fair
Yeah, like there's no way Sleigh Ride is less known than The Boy Is Mine. It's just people only listen to Sleigh Ride one month of every year, probably not through RUclips (and it's not even a particularly good christmas song).
