I really loved how Mads portrayed Grindelwald in this film. There was humanity, no matter how small it is, and even if that humanity he only showed to Dumbledore but it still showed that he was capable of feelings and not just being a cruel and merciless man we saw in the 2nd film. The smallest details in the acting could show how much Dumbledore still affects him, the small smiles, the face twitches, the hurt eyes and expressions, it was beautiful.
No need to say anything about Jude, he's perfection.

That's what I love about Mads. Whether the protagonist or villain, he tries to see through them all. He sees the humanity and goodness within. Which makes us feel complicated because we can understand their crooked POVs somehow. Which is how it's like in the real world

Some people will disagree but Mads is perfect for Grindelwald. He's such an actor with subtle expressions he can convey a lot of feelings.
Mads is literally my favorite actor, his onscreen intimacy and chemistry is perfect especially as grindelwald in this movie. ive hardly ever seen an actor/actress nail those subtle movements but tell whole stories through them.. jesus i love him to bits 😣

Yes, to be honest, i was very disappointed they chose Jhonny depp at first, cause i always imagined Grindelwald as a very elegant gentleman with a very distinctive way of expression, and Mad in Hannibal left me that impression.

Its more touching when you think of the fact that Grindelwald defied Voldemort and refused to tell him anything. I've always believed it was out of love.
The way you showed that last sentence from Grindelwald makes me doubt he wasn't partly speaking to Dumbledore. He wasn't his enemy then, and he doesn't want to be now. The same goes for Dumbledore. Grindelwald will only continue to do everything for the greater good, while Dumbledore will still be traumatized by his sister's death and he just has to stop his old friend. Their blood pact may be broken, and most of their love is gone. But somewhere, deep down, they never stopped loving each other. I know that in the Deathly Hallows movie Grindelwald has nothing but pure hatred for Dumbledore, but in the books he regretted his actions and didn't want to desecrate Dumbledore's grave. So he didn't tell Voldemort anything, which resulted in his death.
We can agree the Scene with Grindelwald in the Deathly Hollow movies was bullshit
The more I watch this video the more I think that they should make a movie about gellert and albus’s relationship I think it would be nice to see it their full story in a movie. Like it would tell certain things at certain points in the story than at the end we would get the full story
"The Secrets of Dumbledore" you would think in a time where being gay wasn't tolerated he would attempt hold back telling his "secret" to literally everybody he speaks to.
A. The secret was more about Aberforth & Ariana
B. From what I understood from JKR tweets, the wizarding world doesnt care if you're gay.
The second point might be wrong, but being gay was never really the secret. We all went into the movie knowing Albus was gay and in love with Grindeleald

Have you seen NBC's Hannibal btw? Mads Mikkelsen (Grindelwald) is in it and he. Is. Amazing. Pretty terrifying as Hannibal but amazing! (And handsome hehe)
Will's and Hannibal's relationship/dynamic (although very toxic) is also great to obsess over lol
and the whole show and story are just SO GOOD, so I really recommend it ^^
The show is very gory though, I had to skip through some parts cause they were a little too much for me, so maybe don't watch it if you can't handle gore well

Mads Mikkelsen (who plays Gellert in the 3rd movie( said he has his own little scenario that the reason why Gellert does this is because his family may have been killed by muggles (ofc this is not canon). But he feels like he is doing something right, and so desperately wants Dumbledore to join him, but Dumbledore knows he's blinded by his deeds. 😭
