I like that the singer didn’t over-sing. And frankly, this shows that Taylor smoked Grohl on drums. This was killer drumming. 🤘🏼
Grohl couldn't hold a candle to Hawkins. And Cobain couldn't hold one to Grohl. The common factor is that Grohl and Cobain are/were huge dicks, whereas Hawkins had the heart and love of a kid before the world ruins him. Only the good die young. RIP

WOW… There’s not a lot of singers out there who can do any song sang by Ann Wilson justice, but this lady NAILED it!

If you haven't, look up Gretchen Wilson singing this with Alice in Chains and Nancy Wilson. It's so spot on you can close your eyes and swear its early Ann.

PLZ correct me if I am wrong here people, but... I don't hear Nancy's guitar.. this is a super awesome cover but her guitar is muted or not recorded at all in this vid. I can see her doing stuff with her guitar that are supposed to be noticed and those sounds are nowhere to be found.

The thing is Roger Fisher came up with this riff and played it on the record. Nancy played very little if any electric guitar on the early albums. With Roger and Howard,there was little need. She played electric live,when Howard was on keys.
This song is unique, incomparable, and Liv sang so good as Ann, which is not an easy job. Amazing.

I first heard this in '77 @ 9yrs olde from passing cars on the radio I kept tryin' to make it home to hear the guitarwork better. I cannot take anything away from anyone previously involved, particularly when it includes Nancy now. The Soul Liv adds is more than justified. Sends me directly home nearly 50 years later. Lol. Nuno, you’ve more than honored the original masterwork. I could not enjoy your playing more in this. In 1978, with most of Dog & Butterfly ready to release, the band hired me and my Artisan Mobile to record them on 5 occasions in the deep south of the U.S. primarily to capture the album’s thrilling opener “Cook With Fire” live in concert, where it was a nightly opener. 45 years ago and I remember this like it was yesterday. Most nights I spent time at stage left monitor position studying Roger up close and witnessing the powerful charge connecting the girls and the audience. Pretty intoxicating stuff. Ann & Nancy were thrilling and generous onstage, fun and gracious off. A pleasure I will never forget.
