Wait, so there is an initial set of toys purely for individual transformations, and an entire second set of identical toys, but more restrictive and just for the combination?...that is both infuriating but also genius...I mean it's a rip-off because it means you have to pay more to get what other companies provide with a single set and for half the price. But there's no compromise to the design of the toys or their articulation (a problem that plagues most of these types of toys), plus the company makes more profit by selling the sets at a higher price. Plus since this is a children's toy and marketed by a television show there will be high demand for it, especially over the holidays. Plus the kids get more toys to play with.
Since the designs for the individual robot modes are well-designed, I dont mind this at all. This gives you the option to decide whether you want the whole squad, or just the megazord without sacrificing the awesome design.
This has been a trend started in Korea. Figures called "Tobot" has created two robot sets, one that has robot mode and one specifically meant for combination. Of course more profit but it is frustrating when i try to look for figures that I actually want to buy, requires heavy research if you are not from korea lmao. The trend is slowly taking over China as well.

I can see the problem providing the individual size in morphing and combining. Toys like these has difficulties in comparison to its live action counterparts. Now they just CGI-r*pe them and looks cheap as h*l*. Love the Trike's transformation... I'm a sucker for smart and/or out of the box transformation and that one is worth mentioning. The giant robo gettai will get in the way of its transformation either way, so I will give them toys a like.
