The Houston Rockets Are Hiding A Monster...

- Going into the 2023 NBA Draft Cam Whitmore was projected to be a top 10 pick. In fact I believed he was a top 5 prospect in that class behind Victor Wembanyama, Scoot Henderson, Brandon Miller, and Amen Thompson, and thought he would be a great pick at 5th overall to the Detroit Pistons. However for one reason or another, Whitmore fell all the way to the 20th pick. Being drafted by the Houston Rockets, which was a pick I praised at the time because I think they heavily considered taking him at pick 4. So getting him at pick 20 felt like a potential steal. Whitmore barely played for a decent amount of the start to his rookie season. Spending a lot of time in the g-league where he was incredible. However recently he’s gotten more opportunity at the NBA level, and he’s looked really good. Showing why he very likely should have never fallen as far as he did in the draft.

I use a combination of advanced stats, basic stats, tracking stats, and what I take away from watching the games to form my evalutions. My goal is to give my own perspective on the game with my own little twist on how I choose to present it.

He has a good peak but I think he will be inconsistent. He will give you 25 one game then 5 the next. I see him being a boarder line all star and maybe he’ll be an all star once or twice
Borderline top 20 player feels like his realistic ceiling a perfect 2nd star
The fact that he crawl out of his way from G-League is the testament it self. Ime is well known for favoring vets so he could’ve stuck on G-League or bench for awhile but he finally made it to rotation with pure skill alone is amazing.
Cam is doing solid work with his opportunities, but those weren't based on pure skill only. Cam's gotten chances because Tari Eason and Amen Thompson have been injured.
Cam is about 6'5. Maybe 6'6 with shoes on. He's the youngest player in the league right now. The Rockets got a great young foundation and some solid vets to support their growth
He is 6'5.75 without shoes so almost 6'7 with shoes. His main issue is he has trex arms and small hands but he has insane athleticism to make up for it.
Lmao shoes don’t add 1 1/2 inches goofy
He measured a 6'8" wingspan and 8" hands. Correct about the height though.
@@Rooski245 You are the goofy one 6'6.75 is almost 6'7. Can't do math goofy?
@@bd2378 6'8 wingspan is pretty small for reference Scoot Henderson has 6'9 wing span.
If he can reach jaylen brown level that would be a MASSIVE win for the rockets. JB is a top 3 player from his draft class and a fantastic 2nd/3rd option on a championship contender. It's a lot to ask of a young player but I do think JB is a good comp for what Whitmore could be at for his ceiling
Excellent post, I agree!
I think amen could do with some more time in the g league to get some shots up
Agree. Get him playing there.
Geat wok on this video man, congatulations, keep it up
Jalen Green should learn from this guy how he sets his shots.
I dont think his vision is as bad as you say. He definitely is starting to see open teammates since he came back from the g league, its just his passing accuracy is terrible. I reckon he could be an average play maker in a couple years with more reps.
Honestly you right about his playmaking. But I think if he can just add the drive and kick to his playmaking he will be a star. He’s too big too strong to not help when he’s attacking the rim
Westbrook had tunnel vision for a while and even Harden wasn’t a great passer. Both were so good at offense that they start figuring out that outlet pass just before finishing were easy picking for them so they start adding assist to the game.
Love the rockets respect ❤
Naw idc how far cam whitmore fell they let the rockets get 2 lottery picks the fleece is absolutely crazy
I actually don't see the Thompson twins as lottery picks. I had them in 2nd round based on what I saw from them in OE. Inefficient shooting and both have odd footwork. Now people are seeing it.
@@bigradwolf5001 naw 2nd round is nasty work they def lottery potential amen in a situation where he can’t get pt that’s all and Ausar is a defensive beast def lottery worthy
amen is a project, he has potential but it starts w him getting a J @@dremoneyog3888
@@bigradwolf5001if they’re second rounders you’re saying there were 30 prospects better than them 😂
Please stop
It is pretty incredible that the teams passed on him and the gms still have their jobs.
He would have been the perfect scoring forward for my Pistons 😓
It's not KPJ?(do you get my drip 😂😂😂)
Well that's new hahaha
Already my second best player next to sengun on the team and has only played a couple of games wooow!!!!
He reminds me of jaylen brown so much is scary
He was definitely a sleeper in the draft. Udoka is a hard coach to impress so he’s gonna be a future star in this league under his coaching. I’m a Celtic fan I was hoping we would have moved up to grab him at 20. He’s definitely shining as a top 10 lottery pick. 17 teams dropped the ball on him. Besides Wemby,Miller he is definitely 3-5 lottery pick respectively. He definitely is Jaylen Brown comparison but better rookie stats 11ppg to JB rookie stats 7ppg. I’m surprised they don’t have him in the Rookie of the Year honorable mention stat category. Unbelievable!!!
Cam Whitmore, Amen Thompson and Alperen Sengun are the future of the team. The "third-highest paid player on the Rockets" should get the boot next season, if he doesn't get traded already.
You forgot Jabari Smith & Tari Eason.
@@feifeihydro6282 And the original rebuild - Tate.
19!!!!!
I had him going at pick 8 to DC
I had him at 2 next to Wem. This guy's a monster, known him in HS and FIBA so him falling to 20 was truly baffling but even so, another monster fell in the 40s -- GG Jackson.
I like what Sadako did the last game where he switched Jalen and Cam minutes. Jalen got 20min while Cam got 28min.
How many guards do the Rockets need jeez😂
It's a 15 man roster so 7-8. Considering Sadako likes small ball, he will push it to total of 8-9 guards.
He's a SF idiot
I been telling these ppl
A steal in the draft.
7:05 What is "ewit atwetisicm"?
Ironically. 😂.they not Hide Him.. they're Hiding the real Monster, and they don't want him to be who He is...
💯
@danrieavila what monster? who are u talking about?
Who is that Monster? secret 🤗the caoches only knew that and Rockets Manager.. they don't Want him to be Him..
@@Lezahfirebut tell us who? Amen? Tari Eason? Cam? Jabari? Jalen?
@@maulik.mThe person is a Jalen Green stan based on their comments I've seen under other videos. Nobody is suppressing Jalen; he was being pushed heavy under Silas but he's been inconsistent since then and has gotten worse now. He's also the third-highest paid on the team at $10M, with Alperen being the fifth-lowest paid at $3.5M; make it make sense.
If it's not KPJ the MONSTER 💀
I don't know what you're talking about 😂😂😂
KPJ got traded in the offseason
No they are not, all of them are overrated like hell
Jimmy butler type player
