I love that your dad is involved in your miniature adventures My dad build me a dollhouse when I was 12, that's 40 years ago now. I retired a year ago and dedicate my time to making miniatures. I'm so grateful to you for making your wonderful videos and teaching me so much, and love your storytelling about the rooming house and all it's inhabitants. Blessing for you and yours.

Ms Gretchen, thank you for another update on the Rooming House Dolls. You are a true artist and storyteller. My grandmother had a rooming house and I spent much time there during my early years; it was a safe and loving place. You bring back happy memories❤️

Beautiful! I'm excited to see all the progress that brings this to life. A channel I'm familiar with, Bentley House Minis, has a tutorial on removable exterior staircases. She did one for her Addams Family doll house and one for The Fairfield she's currently working on. I think you'll enjoy her videos. You and she have similar styles, in my mind.

@@littlegretchensworkshop7665 It really does make sense. Most dollhouses are basically half of a house anyway, like a cross section. Where if you had both halves of the house you would have the hallways and stairs in the middle. I've even thought for my tiny house maybe I'd make a small outdoor outhouse instead of wasting room in the house with a bathroom.

Gretchen, I didn't realize your things had been in a fire 😢 I do love that you have pieces from your childhood that you're still using. All the sewing machines are just wonderful. SO SMART to extend the floor and the wall to suit your needs. So nice that you have such collaborative, respectful dolls. I can't wait to see more! 😍✨

I lost so many lovely things DADDY had bought and made....a naughty foolish girl playing with birthday candles....its was horrible. 🥰 I can totally imagine it! I'm glad you shared the extension plans..I have to add an extension onto the kitchen so that I can add a door and mudroom on the side of the house. This is gonna be a lovely house for the ladies!❤

So much going on, I love it! Of the sewing machines, I'm most impressed with the one you made, such devotion to detail. I've filled in stairwell holes too, I'm not big on stairs because they take up so much space that could be devoted to furniture. I had thought of a "fourth wall" stairway too, so I'll be interested to see how that works out. Really enthused about this new direction/project, and I like that it so seamlessly stems from the original rooming house!
Thank you Peggy!! Yes there is alot going on! ALL the DOLLS LIVES are Connected! YES stairs are always a pain, but necessary for access. I like to use false doors sometimes too. to pretend there is a stairwell or back hallway to a stair case! Thanks for watching!
This is going to be great! Check out Bentley house minis, she has a tutorial for a staircase that sits on the outside of the house and is removable.

Hello, how exciting, it's great to see how you are working things out regarding the staircase, I'm not a fan of stairs and prefer the false doors in the back of rooms that give a hint of what's behind them or little bump outs with just a few steps showing, I would never have thought of extending the front 🤦🏼♀️, a see through staircase case would be much better than a solid one or even a spiral one to take up less space, I love the sewing machines, and can't wait to see the progress in the sewing room, I love sewing, I used to make outfits for my kids when they were small on an old singer treadle sewing machine. A proper old attic sounds wonderful too, there's so much you could do with it. I'm looking forward to your next video, Best wishes from Yorkshire, England 🇬🇧
I LOVE FALSE DOORS TOO!!! I would like to do a bump out with a few stairs. That would be fun! I love to give my dollhouses a little mystery!
How sweet that you are able to add to your childhood pieces for the dress shop. I really like the idea of adding a bit more floor and wall space. I so often get to the edge and wish I had just a little more space. There must be so much excitement for all the ladies between setting up a new business and monitoring Marguerite and Saidi 😂

It’s all coming along! I removed the stairs from my dollhouse too and made that original “hallway” into a nursery! I didn’t add a staircase back to the dollhouse. I like your idea of doing that! Love all of your sewing machines. The sewing room will have such lovely family connections and memories with your dad and aunt! Can’t wait to see the developments ahead! Thanks much! Kathleen

I was once employed in a sewing shop. We used to have patterns attached on strings across the walls. They were made out of heavy weight cardboard so they could be used over and over. If you wanted to add that detail on at least one wall, I think that would look very nice and add to the authenticity.

I love the sewing machine you made! I've never built something functional with moving parts. That seems tricky.

I'd love to see the space filled with measuring tape for dressmaking. I created a simple process for making them in this video using paper, markers and foil.
