Thanks for watching and please subscribe for more videos every week!
This is amazing. When he plays it live he generally moves it up one fret though. It sounds a little nicer one fret up.
I know Im asking the wrong place but does anyone know a method to log back into an Instagram account??
I stupidly forgot the login password. I love any help you can give me.
@Nixon Atlas instablaster ;)

You are so awesome!! :) I'm getting new strings on my guitar today.. and going to give this a try!! I will maybe post a reply video if it turns out well.
God bless you brother
For the base line I couldn't do whatever that was with the strumming so I used a percussive slap as used in "thinking out loud" and found that it sounds almost exactly the same!
This is sooo good thank you
uploads a tutorial a few minutes after Ed's Debut. fast.
Thanks man~your awsome~~
Excellent stuff tnx

Can you please help me play the opening part of this song? The da-da part? The very beginning? Is there an easy way to pluck it before going into the rift? thanks!
Hi Shawn, Love your work. Any chance you could do a tutorial of Ed Sheeran's new song - One?
It'll be up on Monday!

I was wondering if you could do a tutorial of Cherry Wine by Hozier. I LOVE this song and would like to learn how to play it. Please and Thank you!! Hozier - Cherry Wine // Mahogany Session
si, tío eres el mejor !!!! / oh yeah, you're the best !!!!
i'm gonna have to do this when i can somehow quickly mute, as for now it's too hard to mute like that. i'd appreciate any advice on muting like how Shawn does here, thanks for the tutorial though!
This is awesome! i'm in love with your channel, kisses
are these same sounds possible with capo on 2nd fret? That's how Ed sometimes plays it, like in the Capital FM video
Hey Shawn. I love this one. Please, can I use it for my cover song? And of course I have subscribe ;)
Check it out! Ed Sheeran - Don't (Instrumental Cover) by Shawn Parrotte
¡Super cool! Its easy, thank You!
so close to 100k
damn, dude you're fast
:)
have you got a tabs with Dont by Ed Sheeran?
for the bass line, you don't really need to strum with the pick like that you can slap the strings and it gives just about the same sound...
Excuse me shawn, but for d last string is it an A string? Idk im still new at guitar
WackyGeek Angel I like to add the open A string for D chords, it adds some extra bass and fullness to the chords and its technically in the chord anyway!
Hi, Shaun great tutorial. What strings do you have on your guitar?
are you doing the cristofer walken impersontion on purpose? great tutorial though ;)
I'm going to buy an acoustic guitar soon for the very first time, and may I know, is it hard to play this song for a beginner that soon I will be?
Joshua Vargas Thank you for the info! :)
Hey Shawn, I have trouble trying to fret the bars using one finger. Do you have any tips that may work? Thanks in advance
keep trying on an acoustic guitar, then get an electric guitar and try barre chords and find out its bloody easy on those strings, then play acoustic again. That is exactly what I did and it worked 😂😂 I owned an acoustic guitar first then really wanted an electric, and once I bought it I found out I could play barre chords, then I tried playing on acoustic guitar and it worked 😂😂
Homer Simpson Really? Neat! Thanks for the tip mate!
Sharvin Sakthivel You could also play the bars using an alternate style of fingering where you bring the thumb over the neck to cover the 6th string. Say you have an A with the root being on the 6th string (5th fret). You'd thumb the 5th fret of the 6th string. Your third, second, and first fingers then hit the 4th string (7th fret), 3rd string (6th fret), and 2nd string (5th fret in line with your thumb) respectively. This technique is used by heavily by Jimi Hendrix and John Mayer among many other players who I can't think of at the moment! It's a preference thing and allows for the use of the pinky finger for additional hammer-ons. Draw back. It can cause stress in the muscles of the fretting hand, so be sure to stretch it out. I'll find a good example for you!
Cmeigs017 Got that! Will try it out, thanks for the tip!
I made a mistake. That technique can only really be used with major chords (and minor chords dropping the second finger and using the 1st finger to cover the 5th fret on thee 4th and 3rd strings). However, playing around with this song, trying to find a solution to your problem. You could play 8th fret-1st string-1st finger, 9th fret-2nd string-2nd finger, and 10th fret-3rd string-3rd finger. You play that in lieu for the first two chords (just hold the position and slide from 8th fret to 3rd fret). The final two chords in the progression can be played as he shows or just as a normal power chord for an easier time. Up to you, really. Good luck, bud!
Please do an Ed Sheeran song, You Need Me I Don't Need You Shawn! Haha do it for a beginning acoustic guitarist cx
cool guitar sean. what is the make and model?
I'm having trouble on the third chord where you said Ed Sheeran does it differently because he can't bar it. I don't know how to mute just one string like that, any help?
loren finck Well you sorta need to angle your hand a little bit. When you do selective muting like that you can be a little lazy with how you place your fingers on the fretboard. Let 'em lean into the other strings so you only hear the ones you want.
GOD..THANKS SO MUCH:)LOVE YA~
*learns bassline*
Oh okay this isn't so bad
*watched rest of video*
nevermind
The rest of the video is easy too lol
@@phantomplanet07ify right. lol
There shouldn't be only 350 the should be about 2500000 :) best tutorial
Awesome!!! *0*
Do i need to make the strum and the bass line at same time?
awesome tutorial! can you do a tutorial of best day of my life by american authors? :)
i not sure about on how to make that sound after the base
can you guide me more detail thank
What guitar is that man? It's got a wicked sound to it
Epiphone EO-2
At 5:35 and 6:48 you mention to mute the strings you don't need... but how? I can't see any difference between the strums regularly and the percussive strums and it's frustrating me. It's by far the most difficult part of the song and you kind of gloss over it in 2 seconds. Can you explain how this is done please?
One thing to note, youre playing the chords right but one fret lower than he plays it. he plays it on the 9th, 4th, 5th, then 7th as it follows the bassline. It sounds close but its better when you play it like the bassline/how Ed actually plays it, good tutorial though.
You're AMAZING
could you do the "what do you mean" guitar lesson plz
Is it acoustic or classic guitar, and which is better to play songs like this?
Generalissimo Its a steel string acoustic, I wouldn't recommend a classical guitar for stuff like this.
Thanks, I'm playing on some cheap guitar so i can't tune it to sound like yours. I'm about to buy new one can You tell me which brand should I use? (Acoustic guitar)
Get a taylor
Generalissimo Depends on your price range. Sub 500 can usually get you a pretty great guitar. If you want a smaller guitar, Martin and Taylor make some pretty good small bodied guitars in this price range. I never played it but a lot of people REALLY like the Yamaha Fg700s. I've heard it's one of the best selling guitars ever. Just go to your local music store and try a bunch out and see what you like
What the tab that playing just in the first 5 seconds?
hey thx for the tutorial now my crush likes me😃😃
on D flat and E flat u only play 3 strings?? :O the others are muted?
waoo... this is awsome... but i didn't get the strumming pattern bcoz i am a learner.. what to do..??? :\
is this in standard tuning
Im having trouble syncing guitar and lyrics. As a valuable advice, try to play the song youre teaching and sing at the same time at the beginning of the video so we could hear how is supposed to sound altogether. Thnx m8
Can I ask what tuning this is in?
i would love to see a lesson on if i t means alot to you by a day to remember
this is awesome! But i was listening to Ed play it and each note on the base line was a fret up
How to count to this? Greets
i'm so close! why muting strums are you so hard to mute??
i think there is a diff chord progression for the chorus no?
i think chorus is 233222/ x465444/ 557775/ 779997.
WOW i whatched the other vid and u are better than ed hahah thanks for the tutorial how do i put my guitar in tune because my n sound s deep
Can you pleeeeeeaaase make a video how to play Lego house ?
Maxwell Bogdanov Yep, gotcha covered. Ed Sheeran - Lego House (Guitar Chords and Lesson) by Shawn Parrotte
Shawn Parrotte Dude ,u are the BEST
How do i mute upwards strums? i cant seem to do it, only with downward ones :/
xomgitsyouagain Ooooh its tricky at first. Just plant the side of you hand on the strings and strum with your wrist.
Shawn Parrotte Im doing this without a plectrum by the way. I've made some improvements but I I find i can only really strum with my thumb, is that normal?
Shawn Parrotte Ok Ive got the hang of it now! Thanks for the help
This is same exact strum pattern as Nellys ride with me with similar licks also guess Ed new how to play it also
It kind of sounds like ride wit me by nelly
how are you muteing those chords ????
there is an easer way of doing the baseline:
u hit the 3 fret of the d string and then the 3 fret of the and then the same for the rest but just the start is easier
dude what's the tuning
Hey man, your video is very good, but I think you could sing a part of the song to show us how it should sound.
