Time is a valuable commodity; expecially for us old folks. I say this because your videos tend to take about 10 times longer than necessary to understand the answers.
From one "old folk" to another: just keep clicking Fast Forward
Fast forward through parts. I do.ike I don't have to listen to the PEMDAS explanation in every video but I understand he puts them there for people who may not have heard it ( or understand it yet). Also, the part where he explains his website and asks people to subscribe ( every you tube creator does that. I think they have to). Then there are parts I will go over a few times. I have learned a lot from him ia month. I'm not ripping my hair out, panicking, and ready to cry anymore
Thank you John for your very logical and easy to understand tutorials. These RUclips videos have definitely helped with my confidence and now motivated to continue to learn Algebra. I wished that mathematical techniques were employed in this manner in the past and backed up by encouragement and positive comments

An easy way to do this is to make it into two fractions, 5!/3! - 4!/3! and then it simplifies easily.
!
I got the answer but the long way. Having watched your channel for awhile now I assumed there was a way to factor out the solution. I realize I have forgotten more than I remember. 67
d) 16
I never have seen this before! I learned something Mr RUclips Math Man!
Thank you.
Easy brain exercise. I know about factorials.
At the title card (0:01), no calculator, working this out in this comment....
(5! - 4!) / 3! = (120 - 24) / 6 = 96 / 6 = 16.
My answer is d) 16.
First simplify then calculate... (5! - 4!) / 3! = 5! / 3! - 4! / 3! = (5.4 . 6) / 6 - (4 . 6) / 6 = 20 - 4 = 16
Say the problem was (12! - 11!) / 10! ... could you still work this out without calculator?
I think that is quite easy if you simplify first:
12.11 . 10!/10! - 11 . 10!/10! = 132 - 11 = 121
With this two examples you can see the formula: ( a! - (a-1)! ) / (a-2)! = (a-1)²
Same - it's 16. I'm glad my old brain can at least remember factorials.
Nailed it
I only know about factorials from watching these videos. Figured there was probably an easier way than to multiple it all out.
I double checked on the calculator on my phone, and it has the!
{5-4}/3=1/3=3. (x+3x-3)
Cool. I would have never guessed.
16. All what we have to do is simplify 5! and 4! With 3! In the bottom, then we will have (5*4)-4=16
The way you have the video title stated the answer is 116 if you follow PEMDAS correctly. To correctly state what you display in the video you need to add parentheses in the title. ChatGPT didn't understand the problem because I stated it to ChatGPT the way you stated the title.
Parentheses are not needed as everything is on the fraction bar so it’s grouped as needed- idk how you would come to 116 as 120-24 is 96 and divided by 6 is 16-
No lol
then you don't understand how division works, and you made the fatal mistake of not keeping the grouping when changing it to inline rather than keeping it grouped in the multi line expression.
10-4
_____
2
is 3 but 10-4/2 = 8 so to change this correctly you need to keep the grouping and do (10-4)/2=3
got the 16 i just solved. thanks for the fun. (120 - 24) / 6
I had just subscribed to your channel because I needed to refresh on my math skills and I learned a lot from watching a few of your videos and I want to say thank you 🩷🩵❤️💜💖💗💓💕💞📓✏️📏📐

I asked Google what's a factorial of 5 was what the factorial of 4 was and what the factorial of 3 is. Then I did the subtraction and division in my head
Fifty five years old and I feel ashamed that i've never heard of the explanation point. I Google.
The answer I came up with is sixteen
I'm wondering what this would ever be used for?
Deu 16, letra D.

I didn’t watch. But 5! = 4! * 5 and 4! = 3! * 4 so you could rewrite the problem as (5*4!-4!)/3! Which simplifies to 4*(4!/3!) and rewrite as 4*(4*3!)/3! Simplifies to 4*4
The hardest part was 0!=1. I did not know that and would never have guessed that.
The problem is that you don't need that "hardest part" at all to solve the problem. He doesn't use the fact that 0!=1
@@henkhu100 I understand factorial and solved the problem. He mentioned 0! as a side note and I just stated that I did not know that. Thanks for your comment.
@@terry_willis My comment was based on your remark that 0!=1 was the hardest part. That suggests that it that was the hardest, difficult, part of the solution, but the fact that 0!=1 is a side note as you write means that it is not part of the actual solution at all.
Ahh Factorial easy to do You need to know this for Elementary statistics

Looking at the title of this video, this equation has gotten me. In other words, I do not remember or do not know how to solve this equation.
96 /6 = 16 (d)
The answer is (d)

Why is 0!=1 It does not sync with the definition of factorials. Is it just a madeup rule to make things work?
It's quite conceptual and probably easy question so in order the answer is :
By the general formulation ,
n! = [n-1]! × n
On inserting ( n=1) then ,
The final variation is ,
1! = [1-1]! × 1
1 = 0! × 1 (since 1! =1)
1 = 0!
By another formation ;
0! = 1 (Hence proof accomplished)
I hope that you understood the functions of factorials(!) as in complex number series in "mathematical " aspect and point of view ...

Thank you so much for the valuable information. I'm 71 so I guess the saying is true, "You're never too old to learn,"@@tanmaysingh689
0!=1 ?????? How does that make sense?
1/3
1/3!
It takes you almost 15 minutes to explain this? Waste more of my time
Never seen it before I'm watching the video On the Android phone I saw it right on the calculator I would have never known what it was I pushed five and exclamation point came of 120
