Chris, did you ever do the front differential drain and refill video?
I know Im asking randomly but does someone know of a tool to log back into an Instagram account?
I somehow lost my password. I would love any assistance you can give me
@Jordan Elliot Instablaster ;)
Kudos for advising us to remove the filler plug BEFORE draining the fluid!!🙌🏻 That advice is pure gold to a self-taught mechanic that usually has to learn by trial & error! I appreciate you naming the bolt size as you remove them, & the excellent explanation of how the drive system operates, i.e., shaft, differentials, transfer case, etc.. TYVM!😚
These videos are beautiful, short, informative, and straight to the point. No shaking camera,no blabaling on about bullshit, you edited the video to remove any waste of time as you can. Great videos man, keep them coming.
Thank you, will do!
@@chrisfix I got a Jeep Liberty 2007
Fully agree about the blathering. Gotta hate vids where you need to listen to somebody's life story before getting to the project.
@@sfsgm seems to be the secret desire of every arm chair would be mechanic expert to vomit unto the world the random BS about their lives no one cares about.
Yea man! Not bad at all. No special tools, cheap to do, and it definitively brings peace of mind because that transfer case is expensive lol
Thanks for the comment!
i was making a resume and i was trying to say i knew how to do all the fluid changes but actually never looked into transfer cases so had to look this up to be truthful haha helpful as ever thank you chris
You can really see how polished Chris' videos have become and how well he does on them now. Even with that, this is a great video to learn some basics
Thanks again Chris! I always feel more comfortable working on my vehicles after watching your vids
+havocdaemon no problem! I'm glad the video was helpful!
Hi there Chris. i love your videos. very straight forward so anyone can understand and i'm a 65 yr old grandma. I love learning all about car up keep and my son is a very good mechanic also. I'm going to tell him to check out your site and i'm sure he will appreciate the very clear
and informative video's of yours. Even i'm learning about something i like. Yay!! granny chris.
Your videos help me so so much. I have a 2000 ford ranger that I just bought and I've been changing all the fluids in it. Thanks again for all your great videos.
What kind of fluids does a automatic 2000 tracker GMC transfer case
I've watched almost all of your videos and I don't even plan on doing any of these maintenance procedures for quite a long time. Just something satisfying about watching them.
2014:-hey guys its Chris fix
2019:-HEEEEEEY GUYYYYSSSSS CHRIS FIX HEEERE 😂❤️
@@Ciana_Babywtf.. ?
@@Ciana_Baby Why so mad?
Lmao he’s awesome
@@Mag1c4lyfe That comment is under every fucking video
For some reason I like his old videos more......
Thank you! after hrs of searching for something I (65yr old single woman) could understand you are a great teacher and save me some money.
NakedSolidSnake1 That "protection thing" you are talking about is a vibration damper. It is to prevent small vibrations from causing wear in the transfer case so if you take it off, you can cause damage over the long term. Do you really think a car company wants to add extra stuff to their cars that costs them money (especially a big weight like that)?
NakdSolidSnake Because bigger transfer cases weight more and have more mass to absorb vibration. Let me know what you find. I know for sure you need it because no car company will spend extra money on something they dont need.
ChrisFix theres solo much blood !!!! lol jk i had too
Echo-GAMING haha, here is a blood test: ruclips.net/video/oIG_BdsffcU/видео.html
lol and i seen that vid before.

Just want to shout and and say thanks. I have an 01 Ford Ranger and your videos have helped me figure out how to do maintenance on my own. By doing it myself I was able to save over $1500, by not taking it in to an auto shop.
+Joseph Lohr Awesome! Glad the videos have saved you a ton of money.
I've really enjoyed your videos. I plan on changing almost every fluid in my 05 Explorer this weekend and you've helped out a lot.
You're definitely my go to source for anything automotive. I watch your videos, sometimes multiple times to get the little tips I might not remember the first time around and sometimes just to get the views up lol The time is appreciated.
Glad the videos are helpful! That’s my goal!!!
@@chrisfix Well the time you put into these videos and the knowledge gained is more than enough reason to help you succeed so I share your goal. Thanks man.
as a good percaution jus to be sure i leave it open and run a lil of clean fluid ti push out the last of the old fluid and any small grit possibly in the case just for good precaution cheers
+brad byers good idea! Thanks
ChrisFix no problem brother i love your videos and as a mechanic for 10 years running ixe picked up things an as we kn mechanics is all about attention to detail and prcission im not the fastest at what i do but im very thourough of how i do it

It's so cool to see the only channels that don't generate any hate are car channels, and that's amazing
I love how you use a lot of harbor freight products haha so do I but I also work there..great vids..
+Isaac Jimenez I try to use affordable hand tools in my videos so you can do it at home!
Thanks, Chris Fix! I've watched several of your videos before, but I just bought an older truck and need to do a lot of these fluid changes I've never done before. You have the best channel, and you put a lot of hard work into making these things easy for us newbies. Thanks!
At about 10:00 in the video around the vent tube section on the output of one of the shafts from the box there is a black ring around some parts of the box where oil has leaked out and been flung against the box
Your videos are saving this single broke af mumma soooo much money! Thank you so much for all your videos 😊❤ I bought a suzuki grand vitara 2013 and there is sooo much wrong with it and I got quoted over $5k aud to get it fixed. Your videos have saved me at least have if that and now I have these skills to pass onto my 18 yr old daughter, 16 yr old son, and eventually my 2yr lik girl ❤
I'm glad the videos have saved you a lot of money and you have these skills now!
WHERE'S THE FRONT DIFFERENTIAL VIDEO???
Chris, you seemed luke you were feeling under the weather when u made this video. I know it seems annoying, but your fans really appreciate the time u put into doing them
This worked great for my jeep
You need a donation link, ive bought haynes manuals in the past which were absolute shit. Your vids have pretty much guided me through all the servicing of my truck. Cheers mate
Your videos are super helpful and very detailed.Appreciate it alot
Im glad the videos are helpful.
I do not own a four wheel drive truck, and I still watched ChrisFix tutorial. Lol. He is a good teacher.
Hey Chris,
Thanks for the Video, just wondering how long does it normally take to complete the job?
Neboneid Hamoo I would say the same amount of time as an oil change.
Thanks Chris,
I did the front different Fluid on my 99 Ranger v6 4x4 a few years ago. I have a 2011 Ranger V6 4x4 Ranger now. I just needed a refresher course on how to complete this task. Ironically I went to you back when I had my 99 Ranger to complete the Rear Diff and Front Diff on it a few years back. Excellent video!
great video, thank you for your time
Oscar Rodriguez Thanks Oscar! I am glad the video was helpful! New videos every Thursday and most Mondays!
Thank you so much Chris for the complete set of 3 transmission fluid change and they are really helpful for the beginner like me. You are awesome, Chris.
How to be a mechanic.
1. Get tools
2. Make loud (ah..)(uhhh)..( hffff) noises
3. Profit
Bro your videos are a lifesaver. I've been watching a lot of your videos to remind/learn to do all this work myself. Saving me tons of money because not bringing it to a mechanic. Thanks a million man!
Alex Gorell Awesome! I am glad the videos are helpful and save you money!
Thorough instructions.........Good Job Dude!!!
Thanks a lot!
Great video. I looked at my transfer case and didn't see the drain plug and your video taught me how to get to it, thank you.
Cool vid man but your placing the thread locker on the wrong side of the bolt. Up near the head doesn't bite into anything.
Dennis Moore I noticed that too..
Dennis Moore he put it on the rust to prevent the bolt from snapping or just to make it easier on himself the next time he does this .
You Da Man !! Anytime I have to do anything to a vehicle regardless of what year make or model I always look for your videos first because they are the best the most informative and the easiest ones to follow along when when the work to be done is more difficult. Keep doing what you're doing man because you're doing a great job and I enjoy using your videos brother. Peace
lol i'm just the opposite, I put antiseize on every bolt and plug.
Thank you again for this fluid change video. Torque, thread locker, and thred sealant are usually not mentioned in other vids.
Great videos helps out a lot keep it up
Thanks! Will do!
Even though this was made in 2013 it's still Awesome educating video. I've saved thousands by doing my own work and learning from watching your videos.
+Daniel Beck Thanks! I am glad the video was helpful!
What happened to the front diff fluid change?
Was wondering this myself...would really like to see that one.
It's the same thing with two bolts/plugs you unscrew and you fill it until fluid starts to come over the top.
No it isn't, there is no drain bolt on the front differential. You must remove the cover to drain.
You can also pump out the fluid through the fill hole then refill. (according to the Haynes manual) My Ranger (year 2000) does not have a drain plug.
Depending on what vehicle you have yes their is a fill and drain plug on the front dif
As someone who has a 2011 Ranger, thanks a lot for these vids man
+jayluketa Glad the videos are helpful!
of course a siphon pump is not going to be able to push fluid up
came searching for your comment lmao
Actually the red pump will
I found your videos 2 days ago and ive learned a lot from you. but this video has been the most helpful. i have a 2007 escape which apparently is notorious for these breaking down. luckily my in-law knew a guy and i only had to pay $450 to replace+ labor. but now my car vibrates at 80+mph. i might have found the reason why!
TRUCK is on it period XD
Craftyman383 I was about to say the same thing LOL
I go to UTI and this helps me study for my class! Thanks for the video it really helped out!
Really your using super tech? OMFG
i was scanning for a comment like yours and bingo!
david mish super tech oil is rebranded Mobil one (from the same factory)
Marshall Volkmann haha
Clean Super Tech beats old and missing anything.
Marshall Volkmann uhhh no. No it’s not
Some clarification on Mercon. Very hard to find Mercon-specific ATF fluid anymore. Had to do some research on this as I couldn't find anything at Wal-Mart. What I found out after some Googling: Ford does not license the name anymore. Also, initially Ford said not to mix Mercon and Mercon V but now they say you can... in automatic transmissions only! Mercon V is NOT for use in transfer cases. Ford now has the XL-12 specification for their transfer cases. You can order a Motorcraft version but I found Valvoline's Multi-Vehicle Transfer Case Fluid at my local car parts store and it meets XL-12 specs. Hope this helps some people out there.
Great video, tks!
Can really tell the difference between these older videos and your newer ones. You're much more comfortable talking to the camera now :)
Just got an Explorer. Now he's watching your videos and finding out all kinds of good stuff since the mechanics around here are steep
Awesome! Congrats and have fun with her!
ChrisFix hopefully you can show people how the clear coat on the hood can be repaired
Nicely done. Thanks for the help and information, stress level a lot lower now. In these financially trying times, you have been a blessing. Thanks again.
Great video! I've been going through all your videos to help me get this old truck back into shape. Thanks for your help
Great video. To the point, well explained, no off topic digressions. I wish all DIY videos were like this!
I'm just discovering your videos. I've got a 1994 Ford ranger, and surprisingly your mazda is so similar. You're very thorough from what I've noticed and recommend your videos people I know.
The little pump is pretty good for water or gasoline. I use the bigger one for these kind of fluids to though. Great job , as usual!
Thank you so much for your extremely well made, and thoroughly detailed how to videos with automotive repair & maintenance. These videos are always incredibly useful to me. Keep up the fantastic work.
Great video.. I should change mine
Thanks for the video
Love your videos! They sure help me out a lot and save a ton a money from what these oil change places charge for my 4x4. Very detailed and it makes it easy to do.
I have a 2006 Ford Explorer that I just got about a month ago. I went to get the oil changed and apparently I have a transfer case leak. I haven't had the time to go under the car to look, but it seems that it's probably one of the plugs. Thanks for posting this video Chris!
I just changed my transfer case fluid ....and differential fluid ....that pump is good ....thanks for the help on fixing my truck 👍
Amazing how fast you're getting so many subscribers. Seems like only a few short years to go from less than half a mill like when I joined to over 6 million. Well done
Oh chris... you answer every question I ask and thanks so much. Just wanted you to know I use a tablet and when the response comes through on email it doesn't let me send a thank you reply so know that I'm restful for all the knowledge you share and replies to my questions. God bless you bro.
Haha, thanks a lot man! No worries! Glad my videos help!

I have been watching your videos for a while now and they are always so easy to follow along thank you

Great video, ChrisFix . Very informative and easy to follow. Helps give confidence to DIY ers and bring us from intimidated to "hey, I can do this". Thanks
Awesome! Glad the video was helpful and that is the idea behind all of my videos!

Still Waiting for the front diff video. love your videos. just bought a 2001 ford ranger 4x4. Started with suspension. a lot of work to do.. your vids have helped tremendously. Thanks
Very professionally done. Not easy to get good lighting and sound, often when on your back and working one-handed. Good editing and linking to your related topic videos, also.
Keep up the good work!

You just cannot beat a ChrisFix video.
I came back from the future... This channel will get over 10 mil subs
Dang, your videos have changed a lot.
Nice video. Your truck requires the ATF transmision fluid. For my Mazda '97 Mazda MPV 4 X 4 the transfer case uses GL-5 gear oil. A manual is an important resource for the proper specs. You always mention that in your videos. It is so important.
Matt Keefe Thanks a lot Matt!
Nice video man i dont even need to do any of these things i just like watching your videos and learning. you explain everything so well in all your vids great work man keep it up
+dakota isgod Thanks a lot! I am glad you are learning a lot!
+dakota isgod same but i have a Nissan Navara 98 model and its getting old and alot of these vidoes make it clear on what you have to do. i replaced my brake pads about 2000km ago and i noticed that my left hand front brakes are wearing on an angle maybe you could make a video about that if i can fix it somehow
