About the “tanuki” thing. A tanuki is also known as a racoon-dog, a common animal in Japan. So its like a running gag that people are constantly confusing Chopper for a tanuki, which angers him becuase he is in fact a reindeer lol
The anger at being called "tanuki" is a parody of the manga 'Doraemon'. Many mangas and movies are cited in 'One Piece'. The original of HIriluk's line is from the beginning of Moto Hagio's manga 'Heart of Thomas': "People die twice. The first is their own death, and the second is when people forget them. Then I will never die."
There is a fan-theory that Chopper's fruit is actualy not a human-himan fruit, but a mythical tanuki-tanuk fruit. And that explains some of Choppers forms and why everyone confuses him with tanuki.
Now you understand, why One Piece fans love this series, it makes you laugh, cry, get angry (with injustices), get excited when the villains are defeated!!!

I've been watching one piece since first episode 25 years ago, and I'm still watching one piece from begin. I'm 30 years old now and I've been growing up with one piece. hahaThere are some anime original episodes, so You might be bored for them cuz it doesn't relate with the story. But, I swear one piece story will be getting better. So, please don't stop watching it utill last(it's still lasting tho)

Man, today, waching again i still had a gut in the throat and tearing up with these arc. But at the time i saw first i cried like a baby. This was the second time in OP i genuine cried a LOT. There was other episodes that just tears running down from my eyes like Luffy helping Nami in Arlong Park and Sanji's goodbye, but really REALLY criying was the second time.
to me kureha was acting that way, besides from making it easier for both of them, to make sure chopper remained headstrong even when someone he respected goes against his dream, to test his commitment to that decision to become a pirate because as she said its not something to be taken lightly

I'm glad yall enjoying this anime even though the pace takes to get use to it..but its worth it the story..flashbacks..backstory..it fits the pieces together great..enjoy this anime. Remember this is Oda story n world he made its precious storytelling

Hey I love your guys reaction and I know copyright is a issue but it's hard to see the video could you just make the white part a little bit more transparent so we can see maybe change the color so that way the bright show isn't covered up by a bright overlay Maybe make it black or something so is it easier to see I'm not sure if that would be better
And a lot of RUclipsrs will make the video itself transparent instead of putting a overlay image

Goda is a BEAST. And you two have only hit the surface of the incredible story of One Piece. 1000 more episodes to go and Goda doesn’t miss, it only will keep getting better.

@@Matagu1 I'm guessing it's arguable. I've never read LOTR books or any of his many other books, I only watched the movies of LOTR so I can't compare these 2. But some people who did read LOTR, which is one of his most popular books/series , one of them was a literature student in college already graduated said they thought One Piece was better than LOTR and some other classics they mentioned. Maybe it depends on what the person looks for. Based on just the movies, the emotions and lessons for me, OP is better than LOTR. LOTR's worldbuilding is amazing and considering the time it was made, very creative, imaginative on Tolkien's part and also really immersive. OP's worldbuilding is great too, coz it covers like the whole real world in at least 3 diff timelines, mixes it with real myth and fantasy and does it in a fun and creative way. I myself have no way to really compare the them though. Did you read his books? It would be amazing if you did coz I can't. I really can't, the english is too deep for me.
