You can't join with an existing character, you can only start on it fresh to level up quicker and leave permanently when you wish to hit all the other servers. I imagine it's a shitshow on the normal servers lol

Yup. The true boss of almost every MMORPG games - to an extent - is basically your luck. It essentially controls almost all aspect of your overall experience & enjoyment for a particular game. Ranging from monster / mobs loot drop rates all the way to your gear enhancement rate.
Funniest thing, me and my dad got this game for each other on Christmas 😂 we both finally have some free time so we are gonna start playing tonight! Wish us luck

I played ESO for a while but couldn't get into that game like i did in BDO due to ESO's level scaling....with BDO, i went somewhere beyond my AP and got annihilated, with ESO, that never happens which i find boring. In all honesty, i find playing BDO as a f2p complicated, but more rewarding than p2w if you figure out how to make it work. 1 year in and I've yet to use the pearl store for anything other than Loyalty points...for me, the challenge of going 100% free to play has been a blast, i could care less about pvp when pve and life skilling is fun as old hell.

Another tip: Dont collect the rewards you get from black spirits adventure, let it sit in the black spirit storage because its free infinite storage for you. Only take out something when you actually need it.
i am completely new to BDO. never played it, never even heard of it - i had my own mmorpg that is used to play for a long time but its very different from black desert. i have discovered it through LazyPeon, thought the combat system looks insanely awesome so i bought it from steam. started guardian, seasonal character, olvia server. currently lvl 22, played it for around 6 hours total over 3 days. i watched atleast 5 beginner guide´s on youtube, only one seemed somewhat useful to me at this moment since the tips they mentioned seem to me like they are about mid-endgame. should i do all the quests i find? my inventory and warehouse have over 60 different items i have no idea what to do with: crafting stuff, some currencies, materials, some items which show have milions in market value... shouild i offer them on market or keep? is it better to use all skills or focus on just certain few? my first weapon had 6dps, my current has 10-12, isnt that too weak? one or two merchants i opened were offering only weaker weapons. how do i change clothes? i am supposed to have gained some costume for 7 days from one of the chests. i only have equipped weapon, shield, amulet and 2 earrings. should i buy from somewhere or the rest or do i gain better things from main quest? and so much more. the huge open world, beautiful graphics and most awesome combat i´ve seen... feel like i could play this game for a long time, so i wouldnt really want to mess up anything. yesterday just for an hour i was talking to npc cause all had something to say and doing the quest near city Veila/Velia in the ossuary
@@Jonh927 yes i do have a tip. uninstall the game asap. not joking. when i started i honestly thought that bdo is a great game (huge mistake). it could be, but due to greedy motives its actually horrible; combat system is interesting, graphics are not bad, skills have diversity and most of the classes are interesting. however, there is no pve endgame, forced pvp in open world (random stronger players can and will kill you just for their amusement), enhancing system is the stupidest thing i have seen in quite a while, too many aspects are annoying and frustration inducing. why? because devs set them up that way and its not gonna change. no fast travel, literally half the play time youll be on your horse which is fairly slow. game does a horrible job at explaining its mechanics to you, most of the items youll have in your inventory youll have no idea what to use for and will have to google/research it on your own. as this is pretty long already; uninstall and play something else, or if you already bought it, play as long as you want, eventually youll realize all its downsides. could be really good game imo, but they made it suck. think i ended with around 110 hours on steam, decided to stop playing and not once did i feel a need to play bdo again. there is just too much bullshit going on, targeted at the player for whatever reason.
I started it and stopped just like you, Im planning to go back again, and take it slow and chill, its not ur typical mmo, but its very good at what it does.

Came back to bdo Bc of season characters and my shit bugged out in the black spirit quest to where I couldn’t continue the main quest line. Had to delete my Corsair and reload her file from scratch. Gotta love it👎🏾
Update. It didn’t matter since I was still in Velia, looking back it was funny, but unfortunate. Still having fun with the game ever since I came back.
For me this game would be the best if it didnt needed 50 guides to understand half the game. Close to 100 hs, so many guides and still dont understand half of it. The main quest are the most boring thing i have ever seen in any game, just spam R all the time and i feel i never miss on anything. I love the graphics, combat and characters (classes). But the rest always makes me leave it all again and again. From 200 items in the vaults i dont know sh*t about 180 of them. The most discouraging thing to me must be the fact that the game never does anything to get u interested in what u need to learn and do, and that is just lame in a world where u have a billion different things to do like in bdo.

You can purchase costume at market for silver, they are quite expensive like 50mil a set.

You can with summer season. Talk to fughar, take the quest about timepiece. Then follow the instruction. Guardian is good
