Great video--it's exciting to see the hospital's expansion. It's sorely needed if HFH wants to remain relevant given the expansions at St. John's, Beaumont, the DMC, and others in the area.
Detroit native and I usually like to walk downtown. But I strolled Grand Boulevard last night for the first time on foot, and there’s something very special about the area. Definitely understand what the vision for the Fisher building meant. And with the new hospital expansion, you can feel the areas bright future.
That is pretty amazing they are working on a Sunday, is there some kind of hurry to get the expansion built. I was just thinking, if they are expanding the Henry Ford Hospital, they are really anticipating more community to be set up. That is so AWSOME for Detroit. Total state of the art healthcare! I'm happy for Detroit!
@@patrickc4381 A lot of construction projects have a financial incentive if the construction is completed by some preset date. Often that amount is enough that they'll gladly pay overtime to keep the project moving.
@@ajs11201 that makes sense. Was thinking maybe there might be some sort of breach of contact or penalty that they have to pay even if they didn't meet a specific deadline. Maybe something that was part of a contract or statement of work
Actually, in 2025, the downtown, or Central business district, has indeed reached north to Midtown, New Center and beyond. Also, east on Jefferson, and west through Corktown and southwest Detroit.
Did my nursing school clinicals at Henry Ford. Even with a new parking deck the parking problem won't be fixed. Staff has to park blocks away and wait in the rain or snow for a shuttle bus.
The shuttle bus parking was one of the deciding factors to not work at Henry Ford again. I did this shuttle bus parking in the 90's and it sucked when I just wanted to get in my car and drive home after working 10 hours. Hospitals are already stressful places to work, then you add in extra time to allow for shuttle commuting as well. I'm so happy for the community growth in the area. ❤💯
Well at least there is GOOD NEWS ( I guess 😒 for those that are excited about the move ) that GM is adding two additional floors for use in the building they are leasing .

Wow, Henry Ford hospital has greatly expanded since I moved out of the area.

My guess is the construction companies trying hard to meet originally accepted deadlines from whomever hired them
The illegal migrants are waiting to get their free healthcare while the city is setting up their free housing.

Parts Of Detroit Reminds Me Of Cincinnati. 💯
Always thought same
Too bad the Fisher building isn't downtown, That is one freakin' gorgeous building!
The Fisher Building is in Midtown, just a few blocks from Henry Ford Hospital. You can see it on the horizon as he drives toward HFH.

Always a wonderful video on another rainy day 🌧️☔, thank you 😊

We are glad to have your perspective on the parking situation!

New construction will transform that whole area! New Center maybe second downtown in near the future.
Bel video Auguri di buon Anno Frankei 🎉🎉🎉🎉🍾🍾🍾🍾
Thanks and happy new year to you as well!
I read that the Hudson needs another year and 1/2 billion bucks to complete. Geez!

More damn rain ☔️ every day. My backyard is a swamp.
So they ( the Motown Museum ) bought a building down the street , Wasn’t the original plan to build right next where they’ve been ?
They've been doing that too.

Thanks! That bridge is considered a "magnet" for graffiti, and the buildings are part of an art park. You can think of it as a "graffiti fly trap!"
