  • Orion Observer 134 Telescope Review
    Features of the Scope
    GOOD:
    • Great optics! Comparable to a superb 4 inch Ed Apochromat!
    • Eyepieces are “OK”
    • Finder is “OK”
    BAD:
    • Horrible mount. Very shaky even with the suggested modifications.
    • Awkward slow motion knob positions. Some configurations are physically impossible!
    • Strange projecting focuser. Designed for cheaper shipping?
    • Not suitable for kids.

    Alternate Telescope Recommendations:
    Option Number 1:
Orion Starblast 4.5 inch on a Dobsonian mount - $250

    • Parabolic mirror!
    • Two good eyepieces
    • Red dot finder
    Option Number 2:
Astronomers Without Borders OneSky Reflector Telescope - $250
Same advantages as Orion Starblast but more aperture. In my opinion, this is the best beginner telescope!
