    Thanks for the welding vids John. I've never welded and this series is turning into a valuable resource for me for when I try it myself.

    Well done John.
    Great expectation . Wish other companies would find people like you to explain using layman's terms.

    Hello John, sorry for asking - shall I use the mig option without the gas?! - I am just a beginner and I want to buy this welder. I wonder if I could use it without gas at least for a while. Thank you very much for uploading these videos.

      Georgezama You need to use flux cored wire. Cheap enough to buy.

    What spring tension should be used for 0.6mm wire please?

    • @doubleboost
      @doubleboost  Год назад +1

      Adjust it untill the rollers slip on the wire with the wire touching something.
      Make sure it won't birds nest

    John. I am going to be attempting to weld a tubular chassis soon. The tube is 1 1/2" OD 16swg wall thickness CDS mild steel. Will also need to weld some 4mm thick mild steel plate in the corners. Would this MIG we sufficient, with chassis work being structural 'n' all?
    If so, what wire would you suggest?
    Cheers

    • @doubleboost
      @doubleboost  9 лет назад

      The set is more than capable
      I would be using .8 wire
      Weld some scrap then test it

    • @arebrec
      @arebrec 9 лет назад

      doubleboost Wow, thanks for the very speedy reply John. I edited my post to add that it will be to be able to weld 4mm thick mild steel plate too. Still ok?

    May i ask, what mix of inert gas is it, 75/25 CO²/Argon? ( Am a tad Blitzed tonight) And i wanted to point out, the gas is there to keep the Oxygen out. :)

    • @kempy666999
      @kempy666999 10 лет назад +1

      93% Argon, 5% CO2 and 2% oxygen
