Hiya mate, I bought this welder a couple of years back after watching your excellent videos on it, it's a great welder, I'm chuffed to bits with it, thanks.
Hello John, sorry for asking - shall I use the mig option without the gas?! - I am just a beginner and I want to buy this welder. I wonder if I could use it without gas at least for a while. Thank you very much for uploading these videos.
John. I am going to be attempting to weld a tubular chassis soon. The tube is 1 1/2" OD 16swg wall thickness CDS mild steel. Will also need to weld some 4mm thick mild steel plate in the corners. Would this MIG we sufficient, with chassis work being structural 'n' all? If so, what wire would you suggest? Cheers
doubleboost Wow, thanks for the very speedy reply John. I edited my post to add that it will be to be able to weld 4mm thick mild steel plate too. Still ok?
doubleboost Just ignore me mate i was in a really bad mood had some bad news,Just realised how bad our NHS is being cut and being directly affected by it and just a bit angry sorry for taking it out on you john the reviews are great mate keep up the good work pal :)

May i ask, what mix of inert gas is it, 75/25 CO²/Argon? ( Am a tad Blitzed tonight) And i wanted to point out, the gas is there to keep the Oxygen out. :)

Well done John.
Great expectation . Wish other companies would find people like you to explain using layman's terms.
Thanks John for the great video, great simple explanation of the mig welder and the important safety aspects. Thank you for sharing.
Randy
Love the out-take at the end! 😆
Another well presented subject, I enjoy all your videos John thank you and keep it up.
Great tutorial John. Thanks for the laughs too.

Georgezama You need to use flux cored wire. Cheap enough to buy.
What spring tension should be used for 0.6mm wire please?
Adjust it untill the rollers slip on the wire with the wire touching something.
Make sure it won't birds nest
@@doubleboost so simple once you know. Thank you for your help and the video
John Bought a 180 very noisy any ideas to make it quieter seems to be fan noise is from the fan

The set is more than capable
I would be using .8 wire
Weld some scrap then test it

93% Argon, 5% CO2 and 2% oxygen
Thank you very much, for clearing that out for me, kempy 666999 and the last close the door! I'm getting old and my hearing goes with it. :)
I was under the impression that it is 95% co2 and 5%Argon . I stand corrected if I am wrong.
