I'm not mad at landlords, there was no plan after RTB IMO, I'm mad at the successive governments that can use tax payer money to bail out banks but not to invest into housing.
i had a landlord when i moved to scotland, tried to kill us with corban monoxide poisoning then wouldnt let us get our stuff back. fuck landlords.
Good and bad in all walks of life. We live in a system where, on the whole, people like to have a bit more power/money/control than others.
Exactly.....London born and sorry mate, coming for rent outside London and looking for remote work......I love London but tired of not surviving and house sharing with dirty people....landlord refuses to do repairs.....yes, more Londoners are moving out. My neighbour downstairs are a couple moving out too. I only stay because I could finally put my tiny computer table in my room, could not do it in last place, I had to put my laptop on the bed and sit on a small stool for work meetings. I even have drawer space for folded clothes so it's either I stay here and pay more or get out of London.

Social housing was intended to be starter homes - not lifetime homes, it the failure OF PEOPLE TO BUY HOUSES AND MOVE OUT of social housing that's the problem - exacerbated with the deficit of cheap retirement bungalows for people to downsize from their 3/4 bed semi into
The elephant in the room is that landlords could take on the additional costs. Ultimately, they still own. an asset with an appreciating value. The crux of the problem though is supply. Simply just not enough supply in the market to meet the demand.
