1. Does not the ardour stop from entering the ceramic pot and eventually in the toilet
2. How do you clean the pot? Does the chemicals in the detergent kill the good bacteria?
3. After how long do you need to empty the septic tank?
4. How do you empty the septic tank when it's full?

This is the essence of the portaloo, and they stink like nothing else, especially at sunset where it is now colder outside, and warm and moist inside the toilet, forcing the smell out anywhere it can go

Ever heard of a vent ? Modern house plumbing have vents , thats why you get no odors although your pipes are nasty beyond comprehension!
You still need water to wash out the skid marks that stick to the sides of your toilet bowl. Lol.

I am South African from Eastern Cape province, where more than 60% of the population uses the waterless toilets. Believe me, you this does not at all bring a solution to water supply shortage, as the Province has the worse water supply in the country. This also results in air pollution as well
This is not for Cape. This is for the cities where millions of litres of water treated to drinking water quality, gets flushed.
I wish more places used a toliet like this, though I see that it can only be practically used in houses with a backyard only.

Interesting idea, however, my faeces don't roll at that angle, hell it doesn't even roll down the horizontal ceramic sides of my current toilet... What will happen, in reality, is that my feaces would build up, like the mountain Kilimanjaro, rising higher and higher, until one night, when I save electricity and not switch on the light, it peaks so high that when I sit down to poop at night, it touches my bum and there will be no more room to poop. What do I do then? Do I wait for the mountain to be reduced to 5% of its size? How many years until the dehidrated 5%'s build up and become a rock solid poop mountain? Mount Poopamanjaro.

good idea for safe disposal of human excreta. We have to make it more practical in the field.
This is really cool and for arguments sake, say you worked out the problem that not all fecal matter/biowaste is the same and you will still have the issue of waste removal. Then you have the cost of upkeep and electricity.

It has been implemented in various parts of Africa including my native Azania. You can throw toilet paper into the system, although a bidets shower like the ones you see in asian loos, come in handy. This is especially handy for cleaning the chute with a quick spray. So you still use some water, but less than a litre. This compares well to the best case 6 litres on a modern flush toilet... Oh, the water goes to a chamber below the solid's chamber and soaks away, like a soak-away in a septic tank.
These are experimental projects for single users only. Not ideal for schools, and large population.

if you live in a house, use the human manure for vermicomposting! It is good for your water supply and for your trees and plants to use vermicompost. One pile of Red wigglers will do the job for the first few months. These worms multiply fast and you will have the best compost for your garden! Problem solved

Would the odors leak into my house at night because the solar heat that induces air flow stops? Is there an electric fan that turns on at night to keep the air flow going?

also, not all poop is solid.. so there will in fact be a build up.
Based on the information from the video it sounds to me as if the decomposition process is dependent on direct sunlight but will it still function as shown in areas that doesn't receive much sun in winter months or if the floorplan of a bathroom prohibits direct sunlight to the outside holding tank ?

What are you talking about? The tank is completely sealed it needs NO sun.
I think he’s referring to the venting pipe that absorbs heat from the sun and heat the trapped air as it’s being vent out. I think the solar heat only aid to accelerate the venting process. So yes, the process should the same everywhere but faster when there’s solar heat.
Does it use water when flushing? What about cleaning the toilet? Is it okay if cleaning products go into the septic tank?

I installed a composting toilet in my off grid cabin and my RV. but it still requires maintenance, you have to rake and empty the “matter” on a periodic basis, Iv never seen one that requires zero maintenance…. I’m a tad sceptical

Stubborn poo-turds will not fall freely as shown in this video. Poo-turds come in many sizes and density and will not drop freely and roll down hill like this video shows. Oh, how I wish they would, but, I see poo-turds getting stuck in the worst ways. They need to tell us more for turd clarity sake.
