Personally, I really like that shader pack. The world looked super nice!
Agreed! The added detail in the sky and water was nice, but the colors still looked natural and minecrafty.
I would like to see how it looks in a cave though because sometimes shaders are waaay too dark to use while caving (but this can be helped by using any mod that allows dynamic torch lighting or just adjusting the gamma.)
Edit: Just finished the video and he definitely upped the gamma for caving so that's not even a concern. :P
Yes PLEASE! Makes the world so much more immersive and detailed. The effect of the lighting at night makes things so special and I think as long as the pc can handle it without frame interruptions or if affecting your gameplay at all, I think its a no-brainer!

I like the shaders but maybe have the water look a tad closer to vanilla? It’s kinda annoying when it’s always taking my eye away from what’s actually going on.
I love how you’ve built the starter house, the interior is so thoughtful with how you did the setup.

I like the vanilla look of Minecraft for this series. I'm also liking the idea that the builds in his series aren't gonna be mega builds. I think that's a big reason I've not watched a lot of Minecraft recently, everything got so big it was hard to connect and be like, "Yeah, I can do something like that too!" I'd say that's the difference between a big build, and a mega build.
You say vanilla, but there are quite a bit of mods. It seems that are changing the appearance… Especially with the bookshelves
Yup, but those those texture changes are from Vanilla Tweeks, so they still have that vanilla feel.
The one thing i am constantly amazed by is the caves and cliffs world generation, every single place and seed feel unique and fresh, always feel like new game.
I don’t normally like shaders, but these ones are subtle enough that they just enhance the world, not change it! I like them!
Subscriber diamond challenge is a pretty clever concept. Digging the series thus far, Jevin.
The window area in the library is so cozy, like a book nook. I can imagine setting there for a few hours with a good book and forget about the world
Really like to hear you talk about your design choices. As someone who is trying to learn more about building, those sorts of details about why certain things would be added to a build are really interesting and helpful to take in.
Also, the shaders look great.
ive been playing minecraft since launch and you've gotten more stuff 9 minutes into this game than i have on a several hundred hour world. good seed and seeing through terrain helps wonders.

Ive never tried an igloo start. Super smart idea! I'd be curious to see how you would start a similar world when they eventually change it to the biome specific librarians.

An idea for your simple raid farm. You could have a pit for the ravagers to fall into. And water to push them into a tunnel that is 2 blocks high. That will suffocate the evokers
I was thinking lava at the bottom of the pit? But you lose the drops this early in the game.

Haven't played MC since Obama or so. There's heaps "new" meta for me to learn. So much of this series so far is just woosh over my head, but I may pick some of it up just by watching. Very enjoyable series!

oh, and the way that you casually defeat a raid at the beginning reminds me of how my kids just zip around and do everything while I'm still chopping trees or sorting inventory. 😁 I like the house, part of art, is do-overs and layering.

Nice ep Jev, the shaders look good, however would like to see the other dimensions, biomes /climates.
Surround the raid spawn area with walls coming past the boats. Then have a 3 wide, 3 deep trench lined with trapdoors and campfires on the floor. Simply move out of agro range after they go in and wait.

i never really loved the look of shaders but this one still gives that vanilla minecraft feel which is what a like to lean more towards. with that being said i love the shaders it just gives the game a little something.
The library design is my favorite part of the interior. I sometimes forget that chiseled bookshelves exist. I want to use them more.

Love the shader pack. As for how to deal with the ravagers, a pit at the edge with the boats, just behind them that's two across and four blocks deep that's got trap doors on the edges might help to trap them, plus having a fletcher table with your villager might help solve the running out of arrows issue as well, that plus the pit and perhaps a wall around the village might solve your problems completely.

Whats the plan for next hermitcraft season ?
Here is what I would like to see. I would like to see hermits play opposite of diamond-centric gameplay, totally changing the prospective of how hermitcraft server has played till date. Like taking diff responsibilities in teams, some teams build farms some build houses for other hermits who are working on farms, some work on food, some work on weopens, armor, etc. this would be super cool. Midseason teams take on with helping some other teams build games and such.

Above ground, the shader pack looked fantastic, deffinitely would like to see you keep using it.
You could make a 2 block deep, 20 block long water trench across your island. Feed it into a 3 block drop in the center onto 4 campfires with hoppers and chest(s) under those and the only thing you'd have to kill are witches...the campfires will do the rest...
