    Say what you want about Pink Floyd, David Gilmore did great things for the band and he was brilliant with them no doubt, but il never forget the first time i heard The Piper At the Gates of dawn, life changing, Syd was a peculiar genius, and what a great name for an album, from Wind in the willows.

      +irishelk Roger waters should have just shut up and played bass.

    • @irishelk3
      @irishelk3 8 лет назад +2

      Rex Mundi yeah haha, he wasnt a freeloader though in fairness because he did bring his own element to the band and wrote some decent songs and had his own shows but he doesnt come close to Syd, nobody on earth comes close to him.

      Rex Mundi lol. If waters was only to play bass there'd be no DSOTM, WYWH, Animals, The Wall or any other classic Floyd album. He was a vital member of the band, one of the main song-writers and the primary lyricist.

      Darby O'Gill. Genius Syd, wondered what we'd have had without him.

    the manfred mann song he talks about at the start got me thinking, as i don’t know of any song by them that begins with a cockerel. makes me think that he maybe means ‘feeling so good’? which in fact, if that’s right, is actually klaus voormann laughing manically, which i imagine would easily scare a child😂

      There's an interview from 2013 where Julian said they were half way through it but they'd just put it down for a while but hopefully they'd come back to it soon

      Rich said something very similar in a recent AMA on Reddit a couple days ago. It sounds like they all want to it, it's just a matter of logistics (time, money... etc)
