Luminous 2023 highlights

The iconic Queensland event is a symbolic parade of magnificent lanterns taking the form of giant wildlife and flora, celestial bodies, and various symbols of kindness. The night culminates with a festive concert where audiences are treated to incredible performances and live music from around the world.
The parade of over 100 walking groups and more than 500 lanterns traversed along the stunning Brisbane River by nightfall and culminated in a festive World Music Concert featuring renowned acts such as Rushma Banana, Bolivia Marka, Future Destin, and ARIA Award-winning artist Nicky Bomba.
From a modest candlelight gathering 16 years ago, LUMINOUS has grown into a movement of solidarity and support for refugees, migrants, and people seeking asylum
It is now an enduring tradition that celebrates Queensland’s rich diversity!
