Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, the President of Pakistan, and Indira Gandhi, the Prime Minister of India, engaged in intense negotiations following the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971. Their discussions culminated in the Simla Agreement, signed on July 2, 1972. The accord aimed to restore peace and normalize relations between the two nations. It established the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir, converting the ceasefire line into a de facto border. The agreement also emphasized mutual respect for each other's territorial integrity and sovereignty, laying the groundwork for future diplomatic engagements. As a Pakistani I am highly ashamed of the decisions our government/s took between 1965-1977, especially ignoring Mujib's six points and then going to war against him and then agreeing on points harsher than those six points.
