Nice job guys. This camera looks killer. I need to see more videos showing its AF speed. If its pretty reasonable for contrast system, I may need to finally go GFX with the 50Sii kit.

    great video, but one correction, the Large format camera is 4x5" in size and above!, for your xt aps-c cameras, it is a largER format, but not to be confused with LF and the film for it;
the sub 6x4.5 digital cameras are MF bodies, as all, bar the hy-6 are small mf formats!, so you should say this is a larger Medium format digital camera, to avoid any confusion to the REAL large format film cameras.

Most interesting introduction ever made by Fuji in terms of ratio quality vs price . I just hope that Fuji would also have another kit offering with the Fuji GF 3.5/50mm for those who do no want this less than exciting new zoom

Billy my man! I didn’t realize that you did a review on the Fuji GFX 50sii.
In 2013 I purchased, my very first
Fuji X-1 Pro and you help me understand that Fuji so well that I mastered it with confidence. It’s good to see again on the Fuji guy RUclips.
I have the Sony a7iii do to full frame-but now Fuji drop an arsenal MF that bring other MF to there needs once again. I’m again excited and looking forward to purchase the Fuji GFX 50sii with a GF45-100mm f/4.
Would happen to have a walk down for all of the 50sii menus functions?
    Thanks buddy.

I probably wouldn't ever need it but why isn't there an opening in that grip plate to access the battery compartment? Seems really stupid.
But a superb camera non the less. I'm on the brink of moving up from my beloved Fuji X System (which I have been using since the end of 2012). Well, I'm not going to get rid of my Fuji X stuff. Just adding an alternative ;-).

Why do you feel you have to slag off the previous 50s? It looks better than this one in my opinion, with proper dials and great ergonomic body.

Am I the only one sad about the psm dial? I love the tactile controls on Fuji cameras. If not for that I’d be tempted to trade up my 50s.

No way I'm going to buy a camera with a program dial or IBIS. It's sad to see how Fujifilm is slowly transforming into another Sony camcorder manufacturer with a "Fujifilm" branding. I made a big switch from a major mainstream brand to Fuji because of it's former uniqueness. The image quality and user experience of "cameras designed by photographers for photographers" were far more appealing to me than "camcorders for RUclips influencers", otherwise I would have sticked to my very high end previous mainstream setup. Unfortunately Fujifilm seems to move in exactly in that direction, trying to compete with mainstream instead of delivering unique user experience for stills photographers. After the appeal of the T series being completely destroyed with the X-T4 to favour video features and now with obviously the same happening to the GFX lineup, looking into alternative brands is easier than ever...

I agree with you 100% when I started out with Fuji it was because of the X-Pro2 which is almost like shooting with my Nikon F2AS Over 40 years ago. Fortunate for me I still have just about every camera I ever own including the Nikon and Canon film cameras. I don’t need a video camera and it seems like Fuji is headed in that direction where the emphasis is on video instead of still photography. One of the biggest things this camera has going for it is it built in stabilizer. In someway it reminds me of my H1. Which I still have. Fuji it was Nice while it lasted.

I love Fuji... However, this must be the most aimless camera produced by Fuji. What does it offer? Who will buy it? Honestly, I cannot find a good answer when I look at this camera within the perspective of the market. 1- It is called Mark 2, however, it does not offer anything significantly better over the first GFX50s. On top of it, it lacks of many features of the Mark 1 version, e.g., the tilt viewfinder or the vertical grip. The only thing it offers is a lower price.
Definitely, not aimed at professionals. If it is aimed at enthusiast landscape photographers, then IBIS is not really an important feature. If it is for enthusiast portrait photographers, then, where is the hybrid AF, where is the vertical grip? When we look at the competitors, SONY or Nikon Z have more to offer, same dynamic range, same or more MP, better AF, more compact, wider range of lenses and accessories, ... Maybe, Fuji should have called it 50E (for enthusiast), instead of 50s M2, because it has created expectations for being an improved version of 50s (better and hybrid AF, 16-bit RAW, better EVF, higher sync speed, etc.) -like 50R, same camera with a different body with no significant improvement, but for a better price.

I couldn't agree with you less - it has over 80 improvements over the mark 1, including, very importantly, 6.5 stops of IBIS. That's a huge improvement on the original. The image quality will still be stellar, the large sensor with the incredible glass will still blow sony and nikon IQ out of the water, and you trade off some speed and AF factors that the 35mm excel in. I shoot landscape and portrait and pleanty that will benefit from the IBIS, and the AF will be fine for my work - so a MF camera at this price with a kit lens is an incredible offering - my order is in. The 100s has phase detect, but it still doesn't work with the accuracy of the sony or z7ii, so you use it like the old 50s anyway, so this contrast detect set up will be fine for many

@@pointzerophoto i couldn't agree with you more. But I think this is a first time GFX camera as you need to buy Glass. As an ex 50R owner. I just made the decision to Upgrade to the 100s as I have Glass. But I wish this camera was my first GFX camera as size, grip, IBIS and the faster processor gives you the extra benefit for hand-holding as you will always want to use your GFX as the image and colour tones are incredible. Marry it with an XT3, a perfect combo for all your photography needs. Would have said XT4 because of Battery but really hate the flippy screen. Actually, the contrast-detect was ok on the 50R after the firmware update 100s is slightly better but not really tested it as I don't do tracking much.

Yours must be the most aimless comment.
I bought this camera, I’m a pro and it is a fantastic piece of kit that produces breathtaking images.
The focusing using AFS is fast and accurate… I would never use face detect at an event ever, even if I had a Sony A1. The IBIS is a killer and the ergonomics are perfect for me, the rear LCD is great, far better than the rubbish side hinged flip out version.
So yeah…. There’s full frame cameras with higher MP, but they’re not this beast.

Whenever I hear "lens options", I cringe. Really the only "option" is price point, cause if you need all 20-30+ lens options wtf are you actually shooting to need so many "options".
I see ppl with backpacks filled with lenses......You just need a variable focal length (variable aperture or constant, whatever is your wallet's jazz) and maybe 2 primes at whatever focal length is for your work. No professional as you keep stressing, stresses over "lens option", or walks around with a suitcase of "lens options". Most all great photographers in any genre, shot with less gear on them. It keeps their work constant. I see photogs with a myriad of lense and I'm left to wonder if they know what they're doing, or just have mood swings..
Every company offers first party lenses at all the focal lengths you need, that have all the quality you need. As I said earlier..it just comes down to price.
