Its so difficult being a Ferrari fan, I mean their WEC team just win the freaking 24h Le Mans race! their F1 team however..
I don't know why people are Ferrari fans.
@@brrrakeIts masochism at this point, at least my boy Alonso is doing great
@BrrrakeF1 I'd say it's because of the racing brand as a whole rather than just f1 and the fact that, we're not fickle fans who just jump ship to another team.
@@orio_3 I'm sorry for your mental health! 😅 I respect it.
The WEC racing team is too good to be considered Ferrari, let's give AF CORSE their proper credits. The car is Ferrari though
About Hulk's penalty: He was confused by a beeping noise/accoustic signal on his ear, which usually means during out and in laps that you're going too slowly as you must not fall below a minimum lap time to avoid blocking other cars. However, as it was a red flag, this time the same beeping noise meant he was going to fast, so he went even faster. Of course he should be more familiar with the red flag procedures, which the stewards even wrote in the penalty report. But as you said, his race engeneer also didn't do a great job. Going too fast under red flag is usually a 10 place grid penalty, and it's usually a black and white thing, so there is no room for just giving three places. However, they did anyway, which is in itself interesting how they circumvent the rulebook. They declared mitigating circumstances as he was confused and as he only was a little too fast and only for the beginning of the lap and not in the danger zone where Piastri's car was.
To me it seems sensible to have a speed limit under red flag conditions. Would make it easier on everyone and ultimately a bit safer.
Maybe even a wet and dry speed limit. Like 80mph max in the dry, 60 in the wet.
I watched the Quali live in Montreal. It was more than raining, it was a borderline storm lol. It’s impressive how these drivers can do what they do in that weather!
15:20 The engineer told Hulk clearly to keep the delta positive. However Hulk was confused and told him they are going way too slow, thought the delta should be negative and started to speed up on his own. They debated it a couple times again but he was almost at T10 by the time the engineer firmly confirmed again that he has to slow down.
Unfortunate but seeing their race-pace it did not change much in terms of his finishing spot.
He did mention it. But then starts talking about other stuff. The engineers should have literally thrown the book at him and told him "GO SLOWER NOW BY 2S TO BE SAFE" but they didn't.
This came across my feed late but define need to look you for you video next weekend 👀
always love watching these breakdowns
As always, great content, thank you very much !
As a mechanic and a technical nerd On how things work i love your videos! How you break things down and how you formulate the data is amazing ! Keep it up👍👍
Damn with the Dallas Terry Blacks cap too haha. Thanks for reppin our city man
You know me!
@@brrrake I gotta meet you man!
Thank you!
Hopefully the race breakdown doesn’t take to long to be uploaded
Right now the race breakdown will only be on buymeacoffee in text format, unfortunately. I am going to toy with doing some live streams of the race analysis in the future, but right now I just don't have time.
I agree, Ferrari is not to blame for Leclerc's failure to get into Q3, Sainz came in behind Leclerc for softs and put in 2 good laps, both of which were good enough for Q3. Leclerc was just not good enough. Similar thing happened in Spain and he was out in Q1. On the other hand, If Leclerc had got his wish and still not delivered, the same people would have turned around and blamed Ferrari strategy, for not asking him to put in a banker lap on inters.
Yuuup!
I’d like to know more about Control / Performance / Race engineers’ work details. As you mentioned in the video, they need to work together… I’m curious about what their main focus in the race? and how they cooperate? And the procedure difference between Red Bull and Ferrari?
Love watching these when I can't make the streams
The reason the Leclerc situation is not understandable is that they tell him they expect rain in 6-7 minutes and they expect him to do a timed lap on inters. This basically means that they deny him the chance of doing any proper lap on the slicks. I would not say it was a big blunder because slower cars went through doing the same strat but still illogical - a strategy of playing not to lose instead of playing to win. Btw the rain came after 5:30min just as Leclerc was ending his out lap on the softs.
Their luck was that only Albon and Norris went for softs very quick. Otherwise, if more people rush the softs what you say does not stand anymore and Leclerc would have dropped out anyways. I mean still without the botched last sector you mentioned Leclerc would have been at around 1:20.4 right where Hamilton and Ocon was just barely going through.
It's Q2. You don't need to be fastest though.
I want to say about Albon since I was at the track after Q1 it stopped raining and it was kind of obvious that whoever goes out first in Q2 with softs will get the best lap time. That was the only shot available so I was surprised to see teams with inters and not risking it with slicks. Mega job by Albon and Williams.
Brrake Blake vs Podcast Blake is the meme where the dude is dressed in a suit vs in his PJs
Hahahaha
You have a great mind, I hope we could do race analysis instead of qualifying analysis though
It's on my newsletter www.buymeacoffee.com/brrrake - unfortunately it's not in video format but you get quali and race analysis every race. But it is a membership (which is one of the main things that supports me to do this right now)
It hurts to see Checo's confidence just SHATTERED within the last couple of rounds. I would not be surprised that the cracks formed back in Australia when he was not finding grip, but really came to head when he lost grip and slammed into the wall in Q1 at Monaco. After Monaco, we have not seen Checo in Q3 and he has been playing the catch up game the entire time. He's able to over take on the tracks, but I think the issue is that with his confidence gone, Max will run away with it and the only thing that he can do it put his head down and get that confidence fixed ASAP. I don't like seeing Checo like this. I wanted to see a fight between Max and Checo, because they seem to give each other respect even when they drive each other hard. We do still have 14 races left, but at this point its just all Max and a slime chance for Checo.
It’s sad. Checo couldn’t even keep up with the 2 Ferraris this weekend. It’s almost like Miami broke Checo. The fact he was on pole and Max ended up winning in dominant fashion from 9th on the grid had to have hurt.
Great video! Where can we access the same data as you?
You can use f1tempo which has a pre-defined layout for looking at things
OR you can use fastf1 which is a python API
Alex is proving he is a fine peddler. Rather glad GR63 suggested him for Williams.
I still dream about the one time I went to Terry Black's
I can't wait to go back 😁 hopefully I can go to COTA this year
All this + Fernando did the whole Q2 times in Inters
Can’t wait for the race breakdown. What’s going on with Checo lately?
Just to reply to you a copy paste from another reply "Right now the race breakdown will only be on buymeacoffee in text format, unfortunately. I am going to toy with doing some live streams of the race analysis in the future, but right now I just don't have time."
But Checo. I'm not sure.... i'll have a look of course!
New driving style
Where do you get the data? (and I'm not referring to lap times)
I use fastf1 python API
Please do an in-depth review on whether or not the teams have closed the gap to Redbull even if its a miniscule margin. I really wanna know
Working on it. Data is not ideal at the moment as we are a bit short on qualifying data.
@@brrrake Omg I didn’t know you were working on it already. Nonetheless thanks a lot mate 🙏🙏 patiently waiting on its release
Just to play devils advocate, could you argue lap 1 of Q2 was not the cross over it was full dry conditions. My thought process for this is that on a dry track the Williams and the Red bull are not comparable so if the Williams is setting Cross over times then the slick tyre is a second - second and a half quicker immediately if you factor the pace advantage of the Red Bull?
I think Q2 was on the dry tyre favourable side for about 2m. BUT you needed to be on track well before that so that you could get temperature into the tyre, because it was still crossover region.
@@brrrake that’s makes sense, cheers for the explanation!
Can’t remember the last time I was this early for a video
This time.
You're on God's timing, my brother. So you are neither early nor late, but right on time. *angels fly me away*
Bro I sat through a Sun Chips commercial FOR THIS?
Can't believe you were P2
@@brrrake IT DOESNT COUNT different channel, streak not *yet* broken.
Funny how people think rain is going to slow max down…🤷♂️
I have started watching f1 in Schumacher era so since then that no1 blood red car was my first love and first love can not be forgotten so I am going to support Ferrari through the difficult times and hoping when Ferrari got their money of the back titles will come back 2 back. As an Indian nice to former force India engineer @BrrrakeF1 on RUclips.
a shame they delete q2 times
Am new here may i pop a question out of subject.
What are the odds or way that any one can begin a racing career at 27 and make it to formula 1. View depending on your experience!
I didn't get started on moving to the UK to do my Motorsports masters and start networking until I was 25
Thank you.
a ferrari driver getting special treatment? inconceivable!
Youre bang on about Leclerc, except you make an error and say sainz outbrakes himself at 8:49 when talking about leclerc.
I cant believe every broadcaster missed this and just focused on Charles' radio. They show the timings of his soft lap and when he gives it up, but they never show or talk about why (the mistake in the final corner)
I am a bit frustrated about the broadcast missing so much critical information and it's because they don't have the tools... Which is mind blowing. Even after the fact no one talked about this. But yeah sorry about the misspeak 🤣
We all knew who he meant...
Verstappen set a slower lap time than albon just 25 seconds later
Correct!
Why in every video , explains previous job in f1??
Because every video I post, thousands of new people see the video 👍
@@brrrake its just advice to improve your video. Good weekend 🙏🏻
@@josejavier19 thanks. Do you make videos as well?
@@brrrake yes for others, but only for hobby!🙏🏻
@@josejavier19 ah awesome!
To be honest, it becomes a little bit uninteresting for me to watch the qualifying analysis after the race. It would've been much better if this video was uploaded before the race (Sunday)
It's not usually possible for me to get it all done and recorded. Most of the news outlets haven't noticed half of the stuff so hopefully there's some value in it still
To be honest, you're being very nitpicky. I prefer these types of analysis well done instead of all rushed and it's the first good explanation of what happened to hulkenberg I've seen so far. And also: this was very quickly put online, Jolyon Palmer's analysis are quickly made as well, but it won't be online until at least tuesday and there's a whole team making those.
@@CamiloSperberg cheers! It's quite difficult. I have to do all of the analysis, then write the script, then record the stream. I tend to make it part of the live stream show before my race watchalong.
@@CamiloSperberg just to make it clear. For me, this man produces the beat F1 content out there. It’s also good to be critical to someone to keep developing so my comment came only from a good faith
@@BKAM2316 it's okay 🙏 certainly constructive. I just don't have the capacity. I already basically work full weekends during the race with live streaming and analysis. Unfortunately I can't afford a team to help me
Should Lawrence ditch his son and ...
Should RBR ditch Checo?
🤔
@@brrrake : Tough questions, I know. But it would be hard to sell "Sorry we didn't get the 2nd place in the championship, shareholders at Aston Lagonda" or "Yeah, Checo... you lost out on #2 in the WDC again but next year you can fight for the championship again".
I doubt RBR cares much as long as they get the WCC but imagine they actually _need_ Checo to perform later in the year. The only reason RBR is winning the WCC this year is because of Max.
And Lawrence didn't get rich by betting on losers.
@@theGoogol I think with Checo it will depend on whether RB win the Constructors championship, it doesn't really matter if he comes 2nd, 3rd, 4th or 5th in the drivers as long as he gets enough points for RB, so they win the drivers and constructors. If they win both then he's done enough and done what RB need him to do and there's no reason to change.
