Ma'am, as a carpenter I want to ask you why is the pitch of the roof so flat. Also why are the rafters so far apart? Please don't bash me in a reply. The distance wall to wall looks long and that distance with rafters so far apart can cause sagging. As a carpenter, just saying.
The pitch of the roof is as flat as it is to limit the height of the house. The pitch of the roof is 2 inch per foot, enough for us to collect rain water at the low end. Regarding the rafters, due to budget reasons we went with 3 feet apart versus 2. We've observed other houses in Jamaica (including our last one) with rafters spaced 3 feet apart.
I was thinking about you Precious and I am happy to see the progress
This is a beautiful house. Really lovely.
