I recently failed the step 1, I feel horrible right now and even though I felt I was ready to pass and also I studied a lot but I never was good at test and also I found the test very very hard, is it possible to put effort again on this test as an img? I feel this will set me down from others participants in the future

‏Hi, thank you for sharing such important information. If I only study UWorld and NBME questions without studing the First Aid book, can I still pass the USMLE Step 1 exam?

I need to ask a question and hope to get an answer to it.
For an IMG who is planning to be accepted in a research scholarship in the United States, do I have to finish steps or do they accept students without steps. In other words do the require ECFMG TOKEN or ERAS TOKEN. I need an answer for a research scholarship not residency?

STEPs are not needed for research positions. You can learn more about how to find research positions here thematchguy.com/research-positions-in-the-us/

I would buy it in the very beginning since you need it for your studying. One big thing that you need to know is to avoid this mentality "I just need to pass step 1", chances are you will barely pass and wont ace step 2 ck. This is why step 1 pass rate becomes lower to IMG. I discussed this with Dr Ujjwal Soni, he completely agrees. Take step 1 as if its scored. Also, you dont waste valuable time. The foundation of knowledge you build for step 1 serves you for LIFE (if, you are going for internal medicine. If you are a surgeon, maybe not..)I dont mind spending 6 months studying videos+books and build strong foundation that will serve me for life as a doctor. On my day to day practice as PCP+hospitalist, I use my step 1 knowledge to easily explain both simple and difficult questions from patients.

Hi Doc I have a doubt , on my USMLE journey rn , I am doing internship now with just 6 months left to graduate , I learnt that Electives should be done before graduation. Now what can i do , what is the next best step i should take , any Telerotations before graduation or Externships after graduation?

@@MalkeAsaad this applies only to those who have enough knowledge built in with them. if someone hasn't had good basics in med school, he'll have to perfect them before getting to this.
It's like blooms taxonomy level 3 is asked in steps. yes, one can directly try level 3 but doesn't apply for all. especially for those with lesser grasping levels. So, for most people, getting through blooms taxonomy level 1 and 2 and to 3 makes better sense.

He already said approach would be different based on how strong basic you have. If someone has got a bit poor basic then he must clear the concepts at first.
