VAHTANG has been a major presence in the beatbox scene for YEARS now and has had a resurgence with his group YA NA HA. He's had TV appearances teaching Beatbox, etc.
VAHTANG is a beast! For anyone interested, here are some details about the sounds he produces (besides singing): The deep bass is a chest bass. Essentially, you push air to make the epiglottis vibrate. It's not a difficult sound to produce, but achieving the level of control he has over it is challenging and takes a lot of practice. The percussive sounds are created using mouth pressure rather than his lungs, as he needs to maintain a continuous airflow for the bass. This is why they aren’t louder. I won’t go into too much detail since there’s a lot to cover, but there are many videos that teach the basics and might help you understand what he’s doing. An exception is the kick sound he produces while singing. To make a kick that hits hard, you need lung power. If you listen carefully, you’ll notice that he sometimes doesn’t say the whole word, but it’s close enough that you might not even notice. As for the electric guitar sound, it’s hard to explain, but it involves a vocal distortion technique. It’s impressive on its own, but here it’s elevated by the reverb.
Vahtang is impressive. Beatboxing is so cool, man. The absolute mastery of your voice and body is crazy. I also highly recommend the duo Jairo. They are phenomenal!
The term “Black Betty” has multiple interpretations and origins, primarily associated with African-American work songs and prison labor. Here are some of the most common meanings: Musket: In some contexts, “Black Betty” refers to a flintlock musket, possibly due to its black stock. Whip: According to John and Alan Lomax’s 1934 book, “American Ballads and Folk Songs,” “Black Betty” was the nickname for a whip used in Southern prisons. Prison Transfer Wagon: The term was also used to describe the vehicle that transported prisoners to holding centers. Bottle of Whiskey: In the borderlands between northern England and southern Scotland, “Black Betty” was a common term for a bottle of whiskey, which later became a euphemism in the backcountry areas of the eastern United States. Fast Car or Motorcycle: In more modern references, “Black Betty” can allude to a fast car or motorcycle.
This was amazing, not many things I listen to move me.. in the literal sense. You said love the energy and i was thinking I couldn’t agree more Didn’t realize I was “dancing” until I felt the disappointment of it ending too soon.
Definitely check out his “look in your eyes” video. I wonder if his videos are short cause can only do it this for so long. I don’t know how he makes sound like that.. I don’t imagine it could be
Check out the Crew Wildcard for GBB 2023 by his group YA NA HA, "Free Your Life". Swiss Beatbox runs Grand Beatbox Battle which has strict parameters on production and post production.
That's not inward bass, if it was, he wouldn't have to breath in from time to time like he does but breath out instead. It is chest bass, which, given his natural low voice, is really low.
That was crazy!! I was watching him intently, and then I looked over at you to see that you had the same look on your face as I did. But now you should go listen to the original Black Betty.
MRLBOYD MUSIC #GabrielHenrique I present to you the talented Gabriel Henrique, a Brazilian singer who is going viral on RUclips. In the voice of Gabriel Henrique I recommend the same song ONE NIGHT ONLY

The technique he is doing, by the way, is called inward base. It's a beatboxing technique
