You are not doing your marriage any favors by withholding the fact that your mother in-law has been making hurtful comments. Your marriage has to come before everyone, family, friends what have you. Be completely open & honest with each other, even if feelings will be hurt. Your marriage will benefit and secrets can fester and create conflicts or resentment in your relationship.

I feel like OP and Jaden in that last one was just dealing with an awkward mother-in-law. As someone who just got married herself in-laws can be a little tricky. She is obviously trying to make amends and is just not the best at going about it. I think OP was not really considering her mother-in-laws feelings her only son is getting married and that had to be hard for her, not to mention her only daughter-in-law clearly doesn’t like her, and that has to hurt
