@@BoardGameCoffee It is an excellent tutorial. Now let's see them do it in French. Seriously, I had no problem following the original although I will admit this is better. His English was exceptional and I challenge any giving him crap to speak French as fluently as he spoke English.
Thank you very much I’m glad you liked it. Monolith actually asked us to make this video. So they are listening and trying to make things better wherever they can :)
You are my hero! I have been struggling to grasp this game from other how to play videos. This is gold! Excellent content, please keep up the good work!
Man, way to knock it out of the park! I appreciate that Monolith would trust you to do this with their blessing. Great job, I've watched a few videos of yours lately and this definitely made a Sub out of me. Wish you guys only the best and look forward to more content. Congratulations by the way!! 🎉🎊
Red Hood was encumbered by the minigun in round 2 or three when he shifted over two spaces. He lost his 2 free movement and needed to spend 2 cubes into movement.
You are the absolute best! I was so overwhelmed when I opened the game up and the rule book made an audible thump when I sat it down lol. Thank you so so much!
Man, thanx a lot man. I've been using this video to help me learn this game. Couldn't understand the rulebook. Question, on the hero board, what is the number next to skills. Its in a little square with a platform on top. Looks like a scale. :) thank you so much. Love the video. Super well done and the best resource for this.
I honestly don’t remember, I haven’t played the game in a long while, but let me send you question to someone over at Monolith and see if they come back with something. Happy you enjoy the video :)
Let's use the Villain thugs tile as an example...when activated can the thug perform a range attack and then aperform complex manipulation action? Thanx
Guillermo z No. A single thug can only move, perform one action, then move again. I actually answer this very question in our FAQ video :) You should check out the video when you get a chance, there might be other things in there that you didn’t know you needed to know :) There’s a question index in the description of that video so you can just jump to the answers you’re looking for.
Do menace indexes get subtracted for 1 vs 1 melee? Or does menace only affect ranged attacks? I thought menace indexes only get subtracted if outnumbered in the space, so that Red Hood vs 1 enemy threw me a bit. Can you clarify this for me? Much appreciated. Really good overview.
GFG Presents: Cardboard Critique Mence does not effect a melee attack, but it does effect range attacks. When you’re doing the menace calculations, you don’t count the menace index of the character performing the action. Hope that helps :)
I've just backed this on Kickstarter. This is a great tutorial!!! You've got a new subscriber here, can't wait to see more videos (maybe a play through)!
very cool vid, thanks for helping us all, i wonder one thing about catwoman, she has lock pick and munitions ability, at 51:32 why didnt u use both abilities at once , i dont know why u didnt use them, hope i get an answer so i understand :)
When disarming a bomb lock pick does not apply. Lock pick is only used when doing things like opening a safe, and even then the mission description has to say so. And glad you like the vid :)
Hi , I have 2 questions. First one is, if I can have bat gadget example Batman he can have 4 gadgets ,do these count as weight/encumbrance or they are not weight and they don't effect my free movement. Second question is, tear gas grenade has zero explosion but 1 dangers terrain so the guys that are standing in the ,gets damaged and I roll one yellow die ,let's say I get 1 success, the rule book says they suffer wounds does that mean a thug has 2 defense and one Heath ,do the one success I got go throw directly to the health and kills him or he lives because he has 2 automatic defense. Hope I get a clear answer ? Thanks as always :)
Yaseen Alani The bat gadgets you carry in your utility belt do not count toward your incumbrance. And when you roll for dangerous terrain, wounds are applied directly. Armour has no effect
@@BoardGameCoffee thanks for your fast response, I wonder about frost grenade does it increase the dangerous terrain och the area or it's makes it difficult terrain, because if you read about it in the rule book , the first paragraph it says difficult terrain but in the effekt part it says it makes it dangerous terrain, is it a mistake in the rule book ? . Thanks again u helped me Soo much hope ur channel keeps growing and thumbs up from me
Yaseen Alani I actually answer that question in our FAQ video and can’t remember exactly which is the correct answer at the moment. Head to the FAQ and use the links in the description to jump to the answer you’re looking for :)
@52:30, didn't Red Hood carry Minigun with encumberance 6? There shouldn't be any free movement, which means he should've spent 2 cubes for that move.. No? Edit: Oh, it has been mentioned below~ =p
Just found your channel! I gotta say, your FAQ and this video are really great. Everything is explained very well, and for a game thats rule book is a train wreck, it’s much needed.
At 51:26 you test complex manipulation of 6 with Catwoman to neutralise a bomb token. I thought tokens required a 3 ... only primed bombs required 6. Is that correct? Outstanding video BTW. The above question is in no way intended to be a criticism.
Michael Pittman to neutralize a bomb for the Heroes is always six in this mission. Unless you have an ability that makes it cheaper (Which cat woman does. For her it only costs five). Three is only the cost of neutralizing the computers, and/or for the villains to prime the bonds via computer or directly.
So I have a question. if a villian tile is neutralized , can i still spend reinforcement point to flip the tile back and put the reinforced miniature back on the board? Loveeeeeedddd this video, super helpful btw :D
Ameen Al-Ani Just to make sure we’re on the same page. A tile is only flipped to its neutralized side when all miniatures associated with that tile have been neutralized. To get reinforcement points you need to activate your “warning” tile/ a.k.a “event” tile. The number of points you get will be indicated in the mission book description for that mission. As soon as you bring one miniature associated with a neutralize tile back to the board, you immediately flip that tile face up to its non-neutralize side. And thx :)
Vilian river seem to confuse me a bit , The vilians can activate two tiles only per turn, Lets say i want to active tile number one and number two in the river, i feel that there is no reason to activate the second tile first. Since if i do so i would use 3 energy cubes But if I activate the first one , then slide the river, then activate the first tile again (the one that used to be the second tile) would cost me only 2 energy cubes. Is there a hidden rule that i dont know about, or is that a flaw in the game mechanics? Same thing applies if i want to activate the third one and the second one. Also the heroes are always struggling in this board game, i dont know if that was intentional.
Ameen Al-Ani The order in which you play villains can make a big difference so its hard to say without being in the exact situation. You might want to try something with 1 villain type before you try decide who you want to use next. It’s very situational. And for the heroes to win it takes a lot more planning than it does for the villains to win. It’s like a brain 🧠 vs brawn 💪 thing. It’s way more strategic than you would think when you first start.
the way you flicked your brand new 1 year waited for model that was promised in March but likely turned up at in May was quite disturbing for me. My models shall be loved and cared for. I pray for the safety of yours.

Nice job man, already liked the vid and suscribed
Dilated Beholder Yes the rule book is a bit of a mess. Unfortunately other than referring you to page 45 of the rule book I’m not much help at the moment. It’s been a year since I’ve last played and my memory is not very good. But from the passage I could find the the PDF it looks like you treat it as dangerous terrain. Sorry I couldn’t be much help at this moment.
A 1 hour "How to play" followed by a 28 minute "FAQ" video. I /want/ to believe this game is worth buying, and lord knows I feel like I'm loosing street cred by saying this, but maybe there IS such a thing as "Too Damn Complicated."
HotaruZoku Well I do tent to teach things slower than most of that changes your mind. But not every game is for everyone. No street cred lost. Everyone should be able to like whatever they want ;)
@@BoardGameCoffee Also is this the final version of the game? The MECHANICS are brilliant. I love the fatigue/wound tokens and the way you apply them as you wish, but the BALANCE seems /way/ off. Example: Body Index is a number added to movement to simulate how difficult it is to try and ignore someone while passing them. Okay. Batman has a BI of 1. So does...Catwoman. So does...every single thug? SO DOES /BANE/!? Also, Red Hood doesn't have Marksman? And the martial art ability is odd the way you describe it. You say "Add success to any success you make" which SOUNDS like it should DOUBLE your success, IE 1 + every 1. And if it's not like that, it's even stranger that /Batman/, one of the top 5 martial artists on Earth, has the same Martial Art rating....as Catwoman? How can the mechanics be so beautiful but the balance be so off? is this a side effect of a rush Kickstarter schedule? Anyway, I appreciate the earlier reply. HotaruZoku I think where the term “success” gets confusing, is because “success” is what you Roll on the die (that’s what it’s called). The face of the die that you need to succeed is called a “success”. But you still need to roll enough “successes” to succeed. Because if you don’t, you can roll a “success” but not succeed... this is hard to discuss over text haha. And thx for the sub :)
