Tried this today. Dialed back the spice a little and added some beef stock and black beans. Honestly one of the most delicious bowls of chili I've eaten thanks for the recipe.
Awesome! Hottest chili I've ever made! I substituted a couple ingredients like pork for turkey, serrano for jalapeno, and added a little broth and Guinness beer.
We almost make chili the same; except, I use 2 cans of black-eyed peas instead of kidney beans, I think they help with the smokey flavor (always rinse any canned beans out of their canned liquid, truly cuts back on the chili "gas aftermath". Instead of adobo sauce, I used two cans of medium green chili's, but I think I may try adobo sauce. And, instead of Cumin, I use Medium spiced curry powder. Yummy!
Just made a version of this with my own morita/guajillo/ancho sauce instead of the canned chipotles and it turned out awesome. I added a tsp of Mexican oregano and some habanero but otherwise followed the recipie. Definitely my new go-to chili.
Making this tomorrow for the championship games sunday. Got some deer meat im gonna use and gonna get some fritos and cornbread to go with it. Thank you for the inspiration
If by chance you see this, how spicy are the chipotle peppers? Will one can make the chili like mildly spicy? I love spice but making for a group so prob just gonna make it mild and add my own hot sauce individually
Chipotles are a little spicy (to me), about as hot as milder jalapenos. If you use enough of them, you'll get some nice spicy heat. Using one will just give a milder kick. If you're concerned about heat, use a can of adobo sauce instead.
Crazy good chili! Dialed down the heat by a quarter and used what I had on hand. Used only turkey... chickpeas and small red beans were delicious. I added shredded sweet potato when I cooked the veggies. It gives a little sweetness. Also added a tiny bit of allspice. Fantastic!
Getting ready to smoke some jalapenos today. Think I'll using the resulting chipotles in this recipe for an upcoming church chili cook-off. Looks so awesome, Mike!
I've been looking for a recipe for the chipotle adobo sauce because the tins you use are hard to find in England. Am I right in thinking, just use a recipe for adobo sauce and add the chipotle chillies whole at some point?
What's your favorite side dish for chili?
Cornbread

You don't even notice them here, but you can attempt to scape any out if you'd like.
Do you make a cilli verde ?? I need a good recipe.

Do you publish the recipes anywhere?
Matt, they are all on my web site at www.chilipeppermadness.com.
it says chili recipe......but you added turkey so I'm not sure what you're making.
Use whatever ground meats you prefer. Chili.
How come you didn’t use any broth?
You can if you'd like. It great without it.
@@ChiliPepperMadness thank you. For someone with autism, your recipes have had just the right amount of challenge n spice, and are really fun to cook!
