• Owen Pallett on His Fa...
Talking with Owen Pallett, the 2006 Polaris Music Prize Winner, about Xiu Xiu's first record A Promise is akin to peeling back several layers of an onion to fully reveal an intelligent, intransigent and infinitely talented and fascinating human being.
Does anybody else find it adorable that he arranges his books in a rainbow?
I find it adorable how his favorite album is Xiu Xiu A Promise
i love that this is his favorite album. Epic. I'd love to see him cover a few XiuXiu, particular Apistat Commander and/or Suha.
DO IT!
What about a collab?
@@DavidMGiles they have collaborated!! check out ‘I Dream Of Someone Else Entirely’ from OH NO!
and now he's featured on the new xiu xiu album!! that's gotta be a really cool experience
Was listening to A Promise earlier today at work on a whim and wondered whether there was any Owen connection. Of course there is! I'm not at all surprised that it's his favorite album. "Campy self-evisceration" is a good way to describe the genre a some of my favorite artists (Owen, Parenthetical Girls, etc) fall into. And is also quite an apt 2-word summary of Heartland.
Nice to see that Moondog LP peeking out. I'd bet that had a minor role in influencing Spectrum 14th century and Heartland. It probably sits comfy enough next to A Promise :).
He's adorable 😍
I love that people out there still associate FTW with "fuck the world" and don't always assume it means "for the win".
I assocciate it with "fuck the what" XD, because it's WTF backwards
that was brilliant. He explains shit so well
it's weird having Owen and Jarvis being 2/5 of my favourite lyricists... never heard him mention pulp before... wonder what he thinks of Neil Hannon...
cool ideas on non-capital music production
