I invest in multi family apartment complexes with other investors. I went from not knowing when I was going to retire to doing so in three years! I invest money into a deal, then receive a distribution once a quarter without the volatility of the stock market!
Because the way real estate works if done correctly, it’s tax free income. If you’d like to find out more, let me know.

I started a HD Landscaping company. I hired 2 very experienced gentlemen and I supervise their work. Now, instead of working for the man, I am the man!, and I am enjoying it immensely. I help people repair or improve their properties (Their investments) and I leave them with a big smile on their faces. It feels good.

Nice video Michelle! Pilot loan/financial/work places in my area are the 2 big things that hold me from being a pilot. Its nice that you are talking about these stuff and how financial stuff (not only of the pilot, but the comapnies) can effoct very easy. And having a backup i think is the most important thing to have. Not only in aviation :).
Keep up the great job Michelle! 🙂😊

Best thing to do to have financial freedom as a pilot:
Start your pilot training modular, it cost around 60.000 euro and you can do it in 4 years beside your full time job. So you will end your training whiteout any debts from the bank.
Instead of doing a integrated course for 100.000 in 2 years and paying 700 euro a month to the bank to pay back your debt.

      Hi 12,
and here's what I've been wondering for quite some time now. Wouldn't it be better to for example fly glider planes 4 years or just work and save money for the integrated course? Airlines like it more. The quality of education might be higher.
I just can't make up my mind.

@@DutchPilotGirl Here’s a special story about Amelia Earhart and a flight with Boston Mass. pilot Crocker Snow. Amelia asked Crocker if he would fly around low in the Boston suburbs while she dropped leaflets to the streets and sidewalks.
Amelia came from a wealthy family but she worked at a homeless shelter for women. At the time of the leafleting Amelia explained to Crocker that she had a pilots license but it wasn’t safe to both fly and watch where the leaflets were falling. Amelia wasn’t famous yet. The leaflets were to promote a dance to attract men. haha.
Needless to say a short time further in the 1930s Crocker was reading the Boston Paper which announced Amelia had soloed the Atlantic .... he thought that the women he flew leafleting was Earhart... and yes HE DID NOTE IT IN HIS LOGBOOK.
Crocker wrote his autobiography and called it “Logbook”
I live only 10 miles from the Crocker homestead and “Snow International Airport”. Actually I interviewed Crocker in 1997 fir a local TV channel. He headed the initial government agency in the 1920s that licensed pilots. He signed Orville Wrights licensed. Crocker started the first Boston based airline and was a pilot in WW2. I met Crocker and his wife Janice at the book signing for “Logbook”. They are both pilots and over 6’2”!
I walked trails of a cow pasture he ONCE buzzed in his peppy Navion airplane - the pastures were adjacent to the “Snow International. He also buzzed people’s homes - one time with (now friend) Amelia - they buzzed a mansion together... so much for pilot deviation!

I work in the public safety field. No matter what happens, there will always be a shortage of first responders, so no worries there. I have however thought about opening up my own lawn care business. For a few reasons... One, grass will always grow, so there will forever be a need for it. Two, you can start up with a truck, push mower, and weed eater and within 6 months, make enough money to buy more equipment and vehicles and hire people to work for you, and it doesn’t cost much to start up. Been researching the last couple weeks what all I need to do and what licensing I need to start up. Hopefully get the ball rolling this winter so that next season I’m ready. And as far as winter goes, I can also do snow removal and that will always be needed as well because it will never not snow. So therefore there’s no “down season” to worry about

Outstanding video. I have a telecom business myself after 20 years in the industry. I didn't know pilot school is akin to the cost of medical school give or take and can take about the same amount of time to pay off. Something a lot of young people don't realize is you graduate college (or pilot school) massively in debt with little to no real world experience in many cases. Building out numerous streams of income is vital. Then making sure you pay the least amount possible in taxes is also paramount. They don't teach us about these things in traditional schools unfortunately. We have to educate ourselves instead. They don't want average folks learning how to build wealth.

    Hi Michelle
Thank you for this inspiring video
I am nearly 58 years old and working in the mining equipment sector. I am not yet looking forward to my retirement but I am preparing for a side activity to complete my income. Working full time, I am currently catching up with biology and chemistry in order to get ready for my studies which will take 4 to 5 years.
So, YES, it is really wise to have a Plan B in your life !
    Thanks again for your time
    You and Yours take care
    Marie-Claude LAUBIER, from France

Some of the top ten things one should consider with their own business...
Know your restrictions, live within them - but keep them adaptable. But, knowing your restrictions, do not share them - only market your strong and proven assets. Consider restrictions on items such as your hour availability, and perhaps your ability to travel - or not.
Do not forget to insure yourself, and especially others that could work for you. Always pay taxes and fees

the problem is, if you want to launch a side business, for having a "job back-up", you need a lot of time and money, to launch something new, and as you said, the new business shall fit to your interests, that you can do it convinced. But if these interests, that would make your new working authentic is something, that is not possible without a couple of thousand of Euros to start, then you can't launch this new business, especially if you have family and need to work 40 hours a week to pay the bills and if you have debts, that has to be payed before you invest thousands in new things. Often it's just not possible to launch something new. 40 hour job plus family and maybe elderlies to look after...

Could you make a video about Santos Dumont Airport? That's a really challenging airport in Brazil.

Hi! Unfortunately I am not flying there so it will be difficult to make a video about it. Maybe in the future!

Thanks a lot for your thoughts Michelle. Broadening one's income spectrum is very wise for everyone. I'm 33, currently studying materials science in a masters degree program, while doing my PPL in an Aquila A211. Financing it through investing in stocks and through a side job at DHL as a parcel deliverer. Very tough job. I hope it gets better once I can work as an engineer and can proceed with my CPL. Always been my biggest ambition since childhood😃

    A fantastic video as always,
Please explain what V V1 mean, av heard this but don't fully understand this terminology??
Till the next video, take care, safe ✈️ flying.

Hi William, V1 is the decision speed. Before V1 you can still safely stop the aircraft before the end of the runway in case of a rejected takeoff. After V1 you need to take off because there is not sufficient runway length available to stop in time.
