Grocery prices are climbing, despite slowed inflation

Recent data from the Consumer Price Index reveals that while inflation might be showing signs of cooling down in certain sectors of the economy, the prices of groceries continue to climb.

20% increase doesn't include shrinkflation when you get less for the same price. 6 bagels are now 5 and 10 waffles are now 8. Increase is actually 40%!

Inflation is only slowing down in the official government numbers. I have to adjust my grocery list everytime, because 80% of the stuff on my list went up. It's cents, but when you tally it up, it boils down to a lot of dollars more, every month.
The guy is right about the steaks. That's one thing I had to scrap from the list.

the only thing that has went down from 6 bucks this time 2 years ago to back under 3 bucks was eggs.
i have never seen eggs go up to 6 bucks here in huntingdon, but i did and it sucked butt.
the biggest problem ive noticed is the shrinkflation of the large eggs. what would normally have enough of a yoke to fix up enough for a family of 3, on 6 eggs, is now barely enough for 1 person on 3 eggs.
and don't get me started on the cinnamon toast crunch, used to be i could get a mega size box for under 6 bucks, now its near 10 for one mega size box that might last me a week.
and the milk? oh lord help my time, used to be you could get the GV brand milk for under 3/gal and it wouldn't spoil till after the due date, now it spoils up to a week before the due date.

Inflation in Jan and Feb went up because rent is still going up and because grocery prices are still climbing. (Newscaster: "People remain hopeful... Oh, but it's slowing down....") Gotta love how careful the newscasters have to dance around so as to not anger some of the profits over people stock people.
