i just checked this video out, bc ur face was thinner, i haven't watch past the ad yet, so i don't know if you lost weight or not, but i do see great changes in ur face, get it gurl!!!
Have you ever tried raw diary? unpasteurized? Just curious.😅❤ i am so happy this works for you. I did Keto too and had a surprise baby😂 this diet, I just have been curious about.
Hey. I feel I have similar issues but not as bad. But the diet that I feel helped me the most is a Paleo diet. It is a non dairy higher fat and moderate protein diet. I am lactose intolerant and get really bloated with dairy and high sugar products. It's hard for me to follow the diet cuz I love chocolate, bread, and rice 😞 but when i focus n eat within the diet it helps me alot. I pray you find something that works for you and make u feel better 🤗
I'm into Paul Saladino's approuch, meat, low oxalate fruits... I added flowers and low oxalates veggies. dairy is no good for me, no matter how raw. and lots of fat does not let lose weight, it's the same like when you do keto for losing weight.. you already have fat to use. Watermelons, Mangoes are great for me. I don't eat anything the plant does not want me to hehe
I placed my mother onto a carnivore diet after a stage 4 cancer diagnosis. She was given 3-6 months with no treatment options. That was over a year ago and her cancer is shrinking
@@mermaiddiyartist8119do you have cancer? Why do you think it isn’t working? Are you doing OMAD? Try looking at videos from Dr. Seyfried he speaks on carnivore and cancer and fasting. Best of luck to you 🙏🏼.
i think the reason why vegan and carnivore diets work so well is because it's cutting out processed foods. *edit* you have all thoroughly schooled me on how much processed food vegans eat lol! i guess i was thinking of how little fast food a vegan would eat. but you can keep your comment about it now, i am aware 😂
Update #2: 11 months in. 62 pounds down and a completely different person. My husband has also lost a ton of weight and has gone off all medications and healed from the medication side effects. Seriously Jaime, thank you for this video… you are the one who inspired my YT binge on this topic, getting me into this!
I am 275 days on carnivore diet. I am 84 years old. I. Lost 27 lbs I. Three months and stopped. New Dr found I am hypothyroidism also. I am five days on my pills and cleaned house today vacuumed and mopped floors .My back pain is also gone. Thank you for your testimony ❤
Wow I need this medication lol I have hypothyroidism and my doctor just tells me to diet and exercise. Even though I tell them THAT ISNT WORKING, obviously lol
Congratulations ! I just hit 13 months carnivore and it has changed my life! i started at north of 715lbs i was stuck in the house for over 2 years and i was on home oxygen 24/7. i had congestive heart failure, reactive airway disease, depression, anxiety, lymphedema, and many other issues. ive lost 262lbs so far, i have my mobility back, im off oxygen, and off all meds, my depression and anxiety is completely gone. everything has healed and is either 95% to 100% healed! A literal answer to prayer ! i love hearing people changing their lives with carnivore too. Keep up the great work!
@@meganrhoden5386 Thank you. I don't consider it a diet. I relate to diets as something that is temporary. This has given me freedom from food addiction and cravings. So is my ne2 lifestyle now.
So far I'm very impressed with Jaime's restraint in resisting the urge to insert the scene from The Happening where we learn that the plants are out to get us.
LOL I had explosive diarrhoea for practically 3 months on and off. But so happy I stuck to it... Rheumatoid arthritis gone, serious heartburn, bloating gone. I have been on carnivore diet for 11 months now. Went from a size 10 to practically a size 4. I am 70 years old and I walk at least 2 hours everyday and I go hiking with my teenaged grandkids. And the most puzzling thing is that my hair stopped turning white and my eyebrows are no longer white so I don't need to use any colour on my eyebrows.
I have a friend that was just over 300 lbs and she was going to get the stomach sleeve surgery. The doctors wanted her to lose at least 30 pounds on her own before they would do the surgery. So she did the carnivore diet and she only ate basically meat and eggs. She ended up losing like 50 pounds in three months. She did eventually get the sleeve and she’s doing great today.
You lose weight from lack of fiber and shitting all your nutrients out because of too much protein…. People are losing weight from this from essentially over eating protein, which makes you sick. Too much of a good thing makes it a bad thing… this method of losing weight is similar to laxatives… but maybe a little worse in the long run because you’re clogging up your arteries too.
The Carnivore Couple is my older brother and sister in law and can confirm that he has lost over 100lbs. He looks so different. My sister in law isn't currently eating carnivore because she's pregnant with twins. But because she ate a ketovore diet before getting pregnant, she's having a way healthier pregnancy than her first one. It's actually been really cool to see the transformation. Especially my brother, because we grew up in an over weight family and had to figure it out as adults. And he definitely did. Honestly the inspiration for me doing more research about carnivore diet for myself.
This was FASCINATING. I think it's really important to take all of these lifestyle changes exactly the way you're taking them. I love that you point out that there is no one size fits all and everyone's body will need different stuff and react uniquely to different lifestyles. People can get so ugly when that dogmatic mindset is present. Your presentation was so, so good. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience!
Great video! I'm really glad you gave it a try and had some good positive takeaways from it. Very sorry to hear that you had some issues as well, but I'm glad that Dr Bright was able to help; she's fantastic. I did have a couple of thoughts though that maybe could help you or others in the same situation. Obviously any sort of prolonged issues that aren't able to resolve on their own with proper nutrition should definitely get blood work done to see if there are underlying issues like thyroid deficiency, and correct these as needed. It makes a huge difference, and while a lot of people with thyroid issues will improve on a carnivore diet, obviously if you don't have a thyroid then you will be reliant on medications. The reference range is that are normally used from the lab or completely inaccurate because they just give you an average for the community in general. The first few thousand people that come into the lab that year becomes the reference ranges, which is why the reference range is can change yearly, and change from lab to lab. What you want to look at is what is the range for healthy young adults who have no medical issues. Those are very different ranges. You mentioned that you were finding your self having to force yourself to finish your meals and steaks in order to get enough calories. You really don't need to do this, if meat starts tasting bad then your body is telling you and no uncertain terms that you don't need it and to stop eating. This can be very strange when we are eating a lot less, or sometimes a lot more, than we think we need but if you're eating what you're supposed to eat then you can trust your body signals. When we are losing excess body fat we simply don't need to pull in as much food as we would otherwise. This is very common. Once you get down to a stable body fat percentage most people find that their appetite nearly doubles. I experienced that myself. So until then, just listen to you taste buds, and eat fatty meat until it stops tasting good. Once it stops tasting good, just trust your body that it knows when to stop. However still taste good, you should keep eating until it stops. As to weight loss, especially when you're working out this can be a bit misleading if you're just looking at the scale. If you're lifting weights and doing regular exercise you will put on muscle which will offset the amount of weight you lose from fat on the scale. I lost 23 lb in the first 10 days just by dropping vegetables, I was already not eating carbs, and after that I stayed the exact same weight for several months but I was changing visibly in the mirror so I recognized that I was putting on muscle and burning fat. Dairy is definitely a major issue for most people, and a very common cause for stalled weight loss, excess inflammation, and even weight gain on a carnivore diet. I would actually say that your B12 was in an optimal range, again going back to the reference ranges that the lab uses and the reference ranges that you see when you measure healthy young adults. Most people getting lab tests are unwell and overweight, and that's not who you want to measure yourself against. You want to measure yourself against young healthy people. Not everyone can metabolize folate properly, and some even have a gene mutation called MTHFR, and if you're in this category what this means is you need to eat a bit of liver once or twice a week. That's really the only supplement you'll ever need on a carnivore diet, it's just a bit more of the good stuff. If you're eating regeneratively raised grass fed and finished meat or eggs this will have many times the amount of nutrients such as folate and likely you won't need liver, but if you're not and your folate is low for whatever reason just add in a bit of liver a couple of times a week and you'll be fine. Low vitamin d levels has been strongly associated with excess adipose tissue, as it gets sequestered within the fat as it's a fat soluble vitamin. So this can be why circulating levels of vitamin d can be quite low. 27 is very low though, so getting in the sun without sunscreen and taking a supplement is probably a good idea. There is a lot of vitamin d in fatty meat though, especially grass-fed and finished, and butter is a good source as well. Vitamin d is not just a vitamin though, really what it is is a hormone, so it's good to have that in more optimal ranges. Again looking at healthy young adults, a better range is 140 to 180. Feeling pretty miserable and crummy towards the end with being a long-term ketosis can sometimes be due to electrolyte disturbances, though I more commonly find that when people are having cramps and similars experiences it's more to do with dehydration. But something to keep in mind. If you do take electrolytes, just make sure it's a version that doesn't have any sweeteners or flavorings. And then last but not least, if you're having trouble with cravings getting back on a carnivore diet try to eat more fatty meat and this will often suppress those. Carbo diction is a real thing, but like any other addiction you get through it before too long. So just make sure you are staying well fed on fatty meat, and if you get carb or sugar cravings just eat some meat or eggs right then and there until that goes away. Usually after a week or two of eating as much as your body is asking you for the carb cravings go away. Good luck with it and I hope that you are able to get on and feel great as a result!
It’s incredible that you took the time to not only speak with Jamie but that you commented here for her and viewers to see; I hope other doctors follow your example. It’s a true gift to those of us trying to improve our health through this diet. Thank you!! And thank you to Jamie for giving this a shot and sharing your experience with this video!!
It makes sense that you lost weight so fast at first if you are indeed reactive to plants. Inflammation often makes us look overweight when most of it is water weight. Water weight drops really quickly when inflammation goes down. My dear friend lost 30lbs in a couple months once she was properly medicated to her hypothyroidism, no changes to her diet. I hope you are able to find what unique mix of diet, medication and lifestyle changes you need to feel vibrant and healthy! I am so impressed by how you just keep trying new things. You’ve got this!
I have hypothyroidism and the first thing my doctor told me when I worried about going on thyroid medication was that it perfectly safe. In fact when people have their thyroid removed, they have to go on thyroid replacement for life. I am legit sitting here around the ~37:00 mark shaking with rage on Jaime's behalf. Like why would these doctor's not think you need replacement hormone when you no longer have the producing organ?!?
@@Kimberly_Sparkles I think she was on thyroid med but it just was doubled. So the dose was way off... I would be curious to know what kind of dosage she has. I take 100-125ug of levothyroxine per day. My thyroid hasn't been removed, I just got hypo in my early 20s.
I honestly wasn't sure from how it was phrased, it sounded like she was on nothing. It 100% sounds like she wasn't given an accurate picture of the monitoring needed or the correct testing for it. It sounds like they weren't doing a full panel (the TSH-3 & 4, etc) regularly and that still makes me enraged because that's the only way to have a full picture of how well the thyroid or replacement hormone is affecting the body.@@noora7773
@@Kimberly_Sparkles I was born without thyroid and have been on levothyroxine my whole life. the problem is you can feel hypo symptoms but your labs come back "normal" and if you have a doctor that only follows labs, you get in a terrible cycle. You really have to advocate for yourself or find a doctor that is willing to listen to you and dose based on your symptoms vs lab results.
@@Kimberly_Sparkles A friend of mine had her thyroid taken out at 16 due to Graves disease. She did get medicine but had better treatment withheld due to doctors wanting to preserve her fertility (that she doesn't want) despite her protestations. I hope everyone gets the treatments they need, but yeah, to withhold info as a doctor to a patient that has to make informed decisions of their own health is reprehensible.
When you look back in 5 years, you'll realize your expectations were not appropriate for your timeline of recovery; the window of time you gave yourself was way too short. The starting-out path is almost always iterative. You haven't failed. You're learning tons and doing a great job
Less people would get less sick (and from less early ages as well), if they ate the proper way. When you eat normal food (food humans ARE supposed to eat!), your body doesnt run on sugar anymore, but fat. It burns fat. Fat is fuel. (But you need to be zero carbs, zero sugar, including fake stevia and so on. THEN the body switches to how it was always designed to work, instead of storing sugar/carbs.) Then it is beginning to heal, and then you develop proper healthy body, healthy mind. This way of eating isnt about losing weight, (losing weight come as a bonus), but getting your life back by getting rid of diabetes, joint pain, PCOS, gout, obesity, chronic inflamation, etc etc ETC. It's real.
@@FocusedFighter777run a marathon with a protein/fat only diet and come back and tell me that carbs dont matter 😅 Different things work for different people, dont push your way of eating as the only one, but just be happy it works for you 😄
@@FocusedFighter777what if I don’t have any of those problems and do consume a moderate amount of sugar/carbs? What makes the diet you speak of better or more right if mine isn’t causing problems? The human body wasn’t “designed” to do anything. We’ve evolved to be what we are.
I always ate anything i wanted and stayed btwn 122 and 130 until 39. Suddenly developed all kinds of crazy anemia, chronic inflammation and infections in my sinuses and ears. After over a year of testing and blood transfusions, a gastro diagnosed me with celiac. Every variation of gluten free kept me miserable, in constant pain and tired until this year(I’m now 43). I’ve been on carnivore a few weeks now, no inflammation, no bloating, my period came on time with zero pms for the first time in years yesterday, it’s such a freaking relief; and I don’t feel deprived. It feels like a treat to have a bacon/sirloin burger and eggs for breakfast. I’m so grateful I found carnivore. I hope and pray you can find what works better for you!
I have been taking carnivore seriously since mid october and lost 20 lbs. I used to be primarily vegetarian and thought i would forever be a gassy, acid reflux, projectile vomiting, bloating and diarrhea kinda gal. Turns out, I naturally have ZERO digestive issues. Haaawhat?!
i love the channel change jaime did for herself a while back because its led to these more “intimate” feeling videos, i love feeling like she’s having a chat with her friends and im here just lending an ear to her experiences. all of this has been so interesting to hear about and im just glad she feels comfortable enough to share all this with us. i adore her so much! and im so happy to be a part of her community
I felt that similar type of relief when i was finally diagnosed with PCOS after years of being told nothing was wrong. I'm so happy you found a great doctor who helped you!
I remember a video you posted years ago when you said you accidentally took your dog's thyroid medication and felt GREAT, and ever since then I've randomly wondered why no one ever upped your med dosage. But, I'm really happy you're being treated! Hope Nick is feeling better too!
PLEASE do a video about your hypothyroidism. I am that one person it could help! I also had my thyroid removed in 2022 due to thyroid nodules that were so large I was having trouble breathing. Anyway, everything you're describing is me. I did keto for 10 months. My husband and son both lost almost 100 lbs. each. I lost NOTHING, and I cooked all the food! It's so frustrating. Thank you for posting this video. I feel like I have somewhere to start from in this journey.
I have hypothyroidism too! Before getting your hopes up, you should know that Mikhaila Peterson is lying and her father admits to abusing her wrt her disabilities throughout her childhood. I was shocked and disappointed to see this video accept her ableist lies uncritically.
What truly help is spread the word about the F'd up drug/ food industry. And this way of eating in order to heal stuff like this, and better yet: never get it in the 1st place. I have been trying to tell Jamie and others about this way of eating!!! I have been on it and been searching about it for more than 6 months. Found a good community that truly cares and help! Look for the Steak and Butter Gal! Everyone needs to learn about this (no it isnt only to lose weight, it's so much more: get rid of diabetes, chronic inflamation, joint pain, headaches, PCOS, cravings!!! ALL OF THAT Get your life back! The food and health industry ARE industries. Keeping us hooked and sick to make MONEY. Spread the word.
@@FocusedFighter777 Generalizations like that rarely work. I generally believe in balance, because a balanced diet is usually the easiest to follow and stick to permanently, but it doesn't surprise me that some people thrive on a meat diet while others thrive on a plant-based diet. I'm a vegetarian and just the thought of eating that much fat and meat is disgusting to me, but that doesn't mean that it wouldn't help someone else. I have celiac disease but no other dietary issues, but I know that plenty of other celiacs react to dairy, corn, soy... you name it. Diet is very individualistic. Please don't tell people that your very restrictive diet works for everyone.
I'm on day 26 of carnivore and I lost the first 25 pounds so fast. It was probably the first 2 weeks. It was water weight and bloating, but now I've been in ketosis and am losing body fat much slower. I've found eating more fat than protein works really well for me and while I am counting my calories and macros, it's mostly because I want to compare data points to look for trends, or if I notice something weird. My goal is 90 days and then I'll evaluate if I want to keep going or stop. I will say that this way of eating has changed the way I look at food in general. I've sought comfort in food for almost 40 years and now I find my comfort in Jesus. It's a hard mental shift, especially around the holidays, because food is tied to so many memories and traditions, but my health is worth it. Make sure if you do this you have a clear why; why do you want to do it? I want to lose some weight, get my blood sugar under control, and be a better runner, and that's what keeps me going. When I don't see the scale move but my mile is getting faster, I don't feel as deflated.
Great! You have a great attitude. Keep watching videos for encouragement and read comments! Getting thru the Holidays will be great and you will feel empowered
Hey Maggie, can I ask what does a day on carnivore look like for you? I am trying to rely on Jesus for comfort and not food too. I am wanting to start carnivore. Thanks girl
Great, informative video. I started carnivore a week ago and I’m 11 pounds down. I cannot tell you how life changing this is. I HAVE NEVER lost weight like this. I feel good, I have energy and I’m motivated by seeing results. If for some reason I stop losing weight, I will then investigate visiting Dr. Bright and seeing if there is anything underlying.
I'm kind of appalled that no doctor called the severe hypothyroidism already. Your symptoms are so textbook! I hope this is a turning point in your health journey. ❤
Unfortunately if the Dr sees your tsh levels are "normal" they won't do any further testing unless you are insistent with your dr or find a dr who will do a full thyroid panel
There seems to be this epidemic of under- diagnosed and under-treated hypothyroidism. Idk what is going on in our society, but doctors don't seem to get it yet. It seems like functional medicine docs are more willing to treat based on symptoms rather than lab results while endocrinologists are obsessed with TSH levels.
@@slouisec That's good! My integrative doctor told me that you can be hypo for YEARS before your TSH drops. Also, antibodies can be through the roof (meaning your immune system is attacking your thyroid).
@cassie1264 thank you so much! The antibodies are rough!! I have hasimoto's as well but I think somehow it's in remission (I have no idea how) but I got a flare up one time and hopefully it was just a one time thing. Navigating thyroid health is so tricky!
I have had Hasimoto Thyroiditis for 20 yrs, been on meds the entire time, went through menopause...can't tell you how tired I am of hearing my weight gain and difficulty losing weight is all in my head or I'm just lazy. I feel you! You are not alone.
Just FYI - Dr Ken Berry's wife Neisha (who's an RN) has Hashimoto's as well. She has her own YT channel, as well as being on his quite often, and they have various videos discussing it.
Same! Diagnosed in 1992 just out of high school, not put on medication until 1996 when I basically begged for help. It never has made me feel much better, my weight crazy fluctuates on its own, hair falls out, skin is dry and awful, so many pains in joints, dizziness, major hives outbreak that last a year and then go away... most of the time I feel 100 years old. It sucks so bad!
I am 100% Carnivore. I did 4 months and felt great! Decided to have what I called “cheat moments” where I would eat whatever I wanted for like a special occasion. Every time I did I felt horrible. I decided to take a break and just watched what I ate for 6 weeks. It was the worst thing! My fibromyalgia, my arthritis, my back, stomach issues, eczema psoriasis… EVERYTHING flared up! It was hard going back to carnivore because of the sugar/carb addiction, but after two weeks, I was good again! I’ll never go back off! I have no sugar or carb cravings and I feel so much better! If I drop weight wonderful but that’s just a bonus. Do it for how good you feel. It will take some time to get through the withdrawals but it’s worth it! Good luck to you and your carnivore journey! 💕
They say cabbage is so good for your digestive system, besides low in carbs. What if you kept just a little of that in a mostly carnivore diet? Would it keep you more metabolically flexible, to prevent reactions from a strictly carnivore diet?
1. I totally support your comments. 2. After two months 98% Carnivore, I too have found that my taste for carbs has gradually diminished. 3. Our systems are being cleansed & detoxified by an animal meat & eggs diet. 4. In my case, my bloating is gone, losing weight, resuming daily exercise, sleep improvement, mental clarity & overall productivity has convinced me that we have finally found the “Proper Human Diet” at last! 🥩🥚💪
@@clutzfrmr3645 1. I agree with you 100%. 2. My Carnivore “Keto-Cheats” are Sauerkraut (with mustard), Guacamole & Costco A2 full-fat plain yogurt. 3. I don’t eat them everyday, but when I do, I don’t feel any adverse effects like I do when I eat refined carbs. 4. Through time & experience, we all must find the individual diet matrix that works best for each of us.
Yep …I can’t eat anything but red ruminant grass fed organic meat and I feel my best as I suffer all kinds of health issues . However I get too thin and skin gets dry but I think it’s because I was drinking coffee . I am now 3 weeks caffeine free and upping my calories , drinking some raw milk too because I can’t stand being that thin . Noticed my body holds fat and eats muscle on strict carnivore but I’m able to enjoy reduced pain levels . I am sooooo full too so it’s hard. Once I try to eat something else the pain and issues start again .
Yes! I am vegetarian and when I’ve tried high protein/meat diets the weight has fallen off…with huge bouts of IBS and zero energy, so I stay away from meat. I feel so much better without animal flesh
You're trip to the carnivore diet really sounds alot like my own. My husband kept suggesting it and i adamantly refused it. I couldn't believe that veggies were making me feel horrible. Finally at a point in my life where i honestly didnt want to be here any more, i was so desperate i decided to try it. It changed my life, for real.
Same. I used to be very plant based. Watched too many videos talking about how healthy plants were and I juiced veggies & drank super high oxalate green smoothies… when I finally realized it and cut them out of my diet, my physical health improved tremendously
@mermaiddiyartist8119 i love a good ribeye. But, honestly i keep it simple. I work full time outside of the home and have 2 teen boys with busy schedules. And my family doesnt eat carnivore so im still cooking regular meals for them every night. I cook up about 5 lbs of ground beef and divide it into 10 containers and add a tbsp of butter and salt to taste and keep in the fridge to eat throughout the work week. I eat scrambled eggs and bacon for breakfast often and ground beef for lunch and dinner. My life is so busy, the easier i keep it, the more i stick to it.
@mermaiddiyartist8119 also, alot time if I'm cooking my family baked chicken or another type of meat, i just add an extra piece of chicken or two and just eat the meat they're having without the sides.
Jaime, I love always hearing about you seeking out opinions from multiple doctors when you know something isn't right and telling others to so the same. Many, many people have a doctor they don't like or who flat out doesn't listen, and they don't get a second opinion or change doctors. Maybe that's because it can be a huge hassle or because it's reassuring to hear everything is fine even when deep down you know it isn't, but your health is worth it! Thanks for sharing your stories!
When I was going through chemo, all I craved was hot meat! Like ripping through chicken drumsticks, steak, I wanted it piping hot, and didn’t even need sauce or seasoning. My body was telling me that I needed meat! I’ve gone through phases of not eating meat, but I’ve pretty much have always been a meat eater. But never craved it more in my entire life then when I was going through chemo, my body was being attacked by cancer, and the drugs to combat the cancer. And it was screaming for HOT MEAT!
Stuff like this is so interesting because it's so aggressive individualistic. Nothing works the same for anyone. I think that's kind of beautiful. My sister went on the carnivore diet and lost 40lbs, my dad did the same and his liver started to shut down. I did 4 months vegan and lost 30lbs, my brother- in law did 1 month vegan and gained 15 lbs. I used to do cocaine all the time and I have perfect heart health now that I don't do that anymore. My aunt did coke once and had a heart attack. The human body is fascinating
Going vegan is still substantially better than going into a carnivore diet. The consequences are much worse. Your sister might have lost the weight but at what cost?
@letsgoladies No, so it actually became a joke in the family. My father is the only older man In the family who never had alcohol problems. The dude barely drinks. Like maybe a glass of scotch on Christmas, and that's about it. My uncle's, on the other hand, drink a scary amount. Like a handle+ a day, and they've never had liver problem. So my dad got a lot of ball busting for being the non drinker with liver problems
@letsgoladies if I had to guess though. It was fried food that made my dad's liver weak. The man has been obsessed with French fries since the late 70s.
I was vegan for a few years when I was dealing with chronic illness. It worked great for me and helped me to heal. I tried keto for a bit and while I did lose weigh it absolutely tanked my health. The carnivore diet is so fascinating to me because I know it would mever work for me but I love seeing how much it helps others. The human body is amazing and diets are not a one size fits all. Excited to finish the video and see how your journey goes with it!
Yeah whereas I was a strict vegetarian with a dietitian helping me perfect my diet. I still had anemia so I'd probably do terribly on vegan. I do really well on something similar to the Mediterranean diet and love anytime people find whatever diet they feel best on
Same happened to me. Keto must be done for a while only, it can damage the kidneys… and I feel better with more veggies than protein. For animals sake, too. At least we can try buying free range animals --animals are suffering because of the abominable animal industry.
@kimtalentino1104 tbh, meat is practically a byproduct of producing enough fat to keep the world going and we honestly can't switch that over to plant based on the scale we'd need to ib order to get ride of factory farming. It would actually destroy the environment
@@kimtalentino1104do some research on how many animals die so you can eat plants, more animals, ecosystems die because of crops. Ecosystems and habitats are destroyed permanently so crops can be grown, animals are killed so they don't come in and eat them, they are sprayed with pesticides that kill animals and bugs. It's very sad that the people only see what they want Also look into sustainable animal farming, it is possible to do it humanely.
@@jackiem2899 well actually the majority of crops go towards feeding livestock so taking out the animal products part actually reduces how much crops are consumed
I wanted to say, thank you for how you talked about veganism in this video…. My diet is vegetarian but, just like you, the dairy, especially, causes me issues. It’s so crazy that there can be so many people saying certain foods give them issues and they can be dismissed. I’m glad you found something that worked for you!😊
I lost 40 pounds on carnivore last year. I’ve been off it for five months and gained 5 pounds back pretty quick but then plateaued. We have been so busy I haven’t done great, but I’m probably going to do another 90 days to give myself another boost. For me it helps me cut out all the extra junk.
This was beautiful. So honest and sincere. I own a wellness center in Clearwater FL and support clients who wish to be plant based but as you mention, the plants we eat today are very different than the plants we used to eat. Carnivore is a great diet to those who are looking to eliminate inflammation and simplify their gut microbiome. I loved it and can't wait to go back in it in the New Year. If you are ever in my neck of the woods I would love to gift you a free day of therapies! Huge fan right here lol. Keep keeping it real
That dry cough is a symptom of acid reflux. My husband’s first symptom of it was that constant dry cough and burping. We thought it was allergies at first.
Yeah I have the same cough when my acid is bad. When I've been pregnant it's horrendous. I get very bad heartburn and reflux and during the pandemic it was a nightmare coughing and trying to explain it was heartburn and not covid. I am still trying to figure out my trigger, I also have IBS and I feel that both are caused by my stomach acid in someway but cannot find the trigger. I've cut out loads of food. It's ten times worse when I've been pregnant. I don't burp outwards which my partner finds very weird I kind of inwards burp. I cannot make myself burp I don't know how people drink a carbonated beverage and belch. Like I just think it's all linked and it's infuriating when you can't get to the bottom of it. I'm 40 next year and it's literally been years and years now.
@@krystalpresland3723 omg I do this too! I cannot for the life of me burb, I do what I call a backwards burb and it's like a hiccup but not, definitely suck in air instead of expelling it lol. I don't usually have acid reflux but I get very bad, painful bloat... I agree with Jaime, it's the freakin dairy for me.
You seem much happier in this video than your last handful of videos, it made me glad to see 💕 Its all about finding what specific foods will work for YOU, no one diet works for everyone. Also finding the right doctor(s) who can properly diagnose you, which it sounds like you are on the right path! I suffered with chronic illness and it took years of going through doctors, specialists, naturopaths, and even therapists before landing on a Functional Medicine doctor who finally properly diagnosed (and cured) me. I hope, and believe, you are on the verge of a breakthrough! Keep pushing through the hard stuff, and you are going to get there 💪🏻🙌🏻 Sending prayers and positive thoughts, love!!
I'm plant-based (no meat, but some cheese and stuff) but ever since meeting my husband who has Crohn's, I have realized that not everyone has the same affects from the same foods. He can't eat a lot of the foods that are "healthy". So, everyone should eat the best way for them. I'm so happy for you for finding what worked well for you! Yay 💜💚
My friend and I are the total opposites- she's nearly vegan from autoimmune stuff and things like Crohn's; I'm the anti-vegan in that alllll the plant foods I LOVED and ate DAILY tried to kill me a bunch. But milk, cheese, and any kind of eggs or meat? They're fine. I would seriously consider fighting someone in a parking lot if I could eat a muffin without days of food poisoning symptoms. I bet she would do the same if she could have milk in her coffee without needing an ambulance.
I have IBD too, and it was very annoying during my worst flaring to not be able to eat most fruits and veggies! Most people would be so confused as to how simple carbs and lean meats were all I could digest. Definitely something most people don't think about!
I have a friend that cured their mysterious crippling joint pain by going vegan, friends who feel better grain free, and lots of fruits and veggies give me horrible stomach cramps so I feel best eating meat and grains. It’s crazy how different people’s health needs can be.
GURL, I was also just diagnosed with hypothyroidism. I gained like 80 pounds in the last 6 years and just started taking medication for it. Life changing. I hope you also start feeling better soon, I already have alot more energy and my inflammation has decreased. I am so happy for you, it feels like a weight is lifted off of your shoulders because you feel like you are going crazy trying everything and it just doesn’t work. For most of my life I was pretty thin,I actually was a runner at my college and was under 5 min in the mile…so when this started happening I didn’t know what was going on. Again not really congrats on the diagnosis…but I am so happy you are healing.
Hypothyroidism tanks your metabolism. It SUCKS! Since you are a newbie, I'd recommend finding a functional practitioner, getting thorough bloodwork, and watching your iron and vitamin D levels as they will be chronically low. Make sure you get your T3 and T4 tested along with your TSH. If your doc says TSH is all you need.....run. Please get your hormones tested. I had estrogen dominance unchecked for years and it tanked my gallbladder and ovaries. I now take progesterone and testosterone to keep it in balance. I got diagnosed with hypothyroid at 21 and now I turn 40 tomorrow. I want to spare you from the things I learned too late! All the best to you!!
@@brynbailey7132 Thank you, I have been looking into the extra tests and researching more into it. I actually have a family history of hypo from my mom and hyper from my dad. This has helper her too because she has been struggling even with the medication and I think she definitely needs to have extra tests run. I am definitely looking into your suggestions. Thank you so much for the advice!
Please spread the truth: When you eat normal food (food humans ARE supposed to eat!), your body doesnt run on sugar anymore, but fat. It's real.
Praying for you on your healing journey Jaime 🙏 idk if you’re Christian but hearing you bring up biblical lessons warms my heart, especially coupled with your modest and silly personality ☺️ I really hope you get better and seeing your story is very inspiring for someone who is on a health journey as well 💗 May God guide us through this, in Jesus name, Amen 😌
Fasted cardio really isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. Your body has no energy to go off of. I’ve watched a lottttt of your videos & am genuinely getting concerned with all of this Yo-Yo-ing & I feel like you are so hard on yourself 🫤☹️ sending you all of the good vibes!!! ❤️🫶🏼
@@Val.Kyrie. I weight lift between 1.5-2 hours 5x a week. I personally can’t do fasted weight lifting as I have no energy whatsoever lol. I always make sure to have healthy carbs before each weight lifting session for my personal max benefits
You can't lift weight fasted because you are not fat adapted meaning you can't utilise your fat well enough for intense exercise. I've been lifting weights for 9 years now, only compound heavy weights. Neither fasted cardio nor big 4 lifts is a problem at all. It does take a while to get fat adapted. But do whatever works for you, if eating carbs work for you, do that.
This video is great in many ways but my favourite part of it was getting little snippets of your and Nick’s relationship, hearing how you’re doing all this together and the little clips of you two just interacting. It’s so sweet :)
Just found your channel today (don’t know how I missed it bc you’ve got a ton of subs!)…. I admire that you did the 90 day carnivore challenge and that you experienced such amazing physical and mental benefits and results during that brief amount of time on this type of Proper Human Diet (Carnivore, Keto or Ketovore) as Dr Ken Berry calls it. I’m 61, 6’2” and about a yr ago was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes (A1C over 8), fatty liver disease, was morbidly obese at almost 300 lbs with high blood pressure, chronic arthritis in my knees, acid reflux, sleep apnea and snoring, headaches, brain fog, fatigue, and I’ve struggled my whole life with bipolar depression, anxiety and ADHD. I found Dr Ken Berry’s videos on RUclips, and decided to adopt a Proper Human Diet (PHD) which was initially Keto, and transitioned to Ketovore (10-20 total grams of carbs per day) consisting of mostly meat, fish, seafood, eggs, bacon, eggs with limited non-starchy veg and occasional nuts, cheese and berries. So what happened over the past year…??? I have not only lost 70 lbs (now 225 lbs, lowest weight since I was in my 20’s!!), I have also… Reversed my Type 2 diabetes (A1C is now normal at 5.4) and fatty liver disease… my blood pressure is now normal, and I no longer have/suffer from: arthritis in my knees acid reflux sleep apnea & snoring headaches brain fog fatigue And best of all… my bipolar depression, anxiety and ADHD has gone into full and complete remission and with the help/consultation of my psychiatrist… I am now OFF ALL MEDS and feel great!! Brain fog is completely gone, I have incredible mental clarity and focus like never before, and I’ve got seemingly limitless energy. Sugar, carbs, highly refined grains, seed oils and man-made chemicals cause massive inflammation throughout your body and wreak havoc in the mitochondria which are the power center (batteries!) inside each of you cells. Once the inflammation is gone through eating a Proper Human Diet, and the mitochondria have repaired themselves, you feel incredible physical and mental energy… it’s almost unbelievable until you actually experience it for yourself. I hope you’ll one day consider starting (or re-starting/resuming) a PHD and see for yourself what it can and WILL do for you!😊😊
It helped your ADHD??!! Very interested to hear about that. I have a very severe case and am looking for any sort of relief. I’m maxed out on meds and they only help minimally.
I did a sort of modified clean Keto diet. Lost over 50 lbs… Then did a mostly high protein (almost 100% carnivore) low oil/butter diet…. While allowing myself to eat basically whatever on the weekends to cycle. I dropped 30 lbs in about 1 month and a half …. Went from like 185lbs to 155lbs QUICK. No workouts, legit this diet is for realllll
JAIME THE high B12 and low folate could be an indication of MTHFR genetic mutation!!!! You should ask you dr about it because finding it out for my personal health journey has been massively helpful. ❤
Came here to say this!! There are, of course, several levels of severity when it comes to MTHFR gene mutation and it all comes down to chromosomal inheritance. There's also more than one chromosome that can be affected (that medical research has discovered thus far) and it's a good idea to get phenotyped.
I love how vulnerable and honest you are when you review things like this! Carnivore can help people with AI issues, but you’re right on the nose that it really only works when you’re 💯 compliant. I’m glad you’re finally making some headway with your thyroid levels and I hope you are able to find a nutrition plan that makes you feel amazing soon! ❤❤❤
I love that Dr. Bright did that deep dive for you. I had a break down the other day and wished I could have that kind of doctor that would take all of that information and investigate it. I feel like I have so many ailments that I deal with and doctors will blame it on my weight but not dig into why I keep facing drastic side effects from dieting (mostly mental health dips.) Like every Dr only wants to look at one thing at a time, it's infuriating. I almost cried when you said she looked at all of your blood work from your entire life. What a godsend! If I could find a doctor like that that I could afford it would be a dream!
I 100% have those exact thoughts and feelings! I too struggle with various medical issues and have prayed for someone to do that kind of deep dive to help! It’s sad that these days most people are treated like a dollar sign 😢
They only look at one thing at a time to keep you going back so they can make more money. And specialists who do deeper research on their patients are not cheap because it takes a lot more time and energy than just keeping the intervention surface level. Unfortunately the health care system is a business and it's rare the doctors who are there mainly because they care about the profession and other people. I hope you find one that works for you and helps you feel better.
Girl yes! Nutritional eating is so healing, and I’m so glad to hear you’re doing so well on this diet!! I know someone who has been on a strict carnivore diet to help battle her autoimmune issues (she’s been struggling with chronic pain, inflammation, skin irritation, and internal infections since childhood) and she’s doing AMAZING! I would like to add - not every diet works for every person. I do way better on a more plant based diet, but I fully believe different people have different nutritional needs. And I’m thrilled to see that people are becoming more accepting of different lifestyles!!
Going carnivore saved my son's life, no joke. He had been in immense pain for a couple of years with severe GI issues (IBS-C) plus other AI issues such as nerve pain, joint pain, vocal tics, he had intense insomnia, and felt like he had fibromyalgia. He went carnivore October 2022 and immediately felt better. He's in fantastic shape now and rarely has any pain or discomfort. And, he loves to work out and is putting on muscle. He's such an inspiration.
I went paleo in 2015, went from 215 to 185 in about six months. After 4 years I was down to 155 and felt great. When covid came down, for some reason I started eating corn, wheat and sugar again. I am now back over 200 lbs and I feel those extra pounds especially on stairs and ladders. I turn 55 in two days and will be going back to paleo asap. May you all be well and your days be filled with joy.
Whenever i see a Jamie video i always add it to my Watch Later list and save it for when i can sit down and truly enjoy it cause i love them so much...theyre like a special treat. Ive known you had health issues for awhile now from previous videos and your struggles..i cannot imagine how incredibly hard it has been for you to deal with your whole damn life. Have so much respect for you and happy you got some answers!! ❤❤ Very interesting video
Hi Jaime! You might not see this since it is a while since you posted the video. Just wanted to let you know that you kind of changed my life by posting this. I did not get on a carnivore diet, but I did start to think about the science of it. I have pollen allergies/environmental allergies and I already knew of some cross allergies, mainly nuts. But after this video I started to really research it more and found that there are so many cross allergies that have affected me. I have since then cut all of them out of my diet. These are the once: avocado, strawberries, hazelnut (already knew this one), almond, cashew, tomato, celery, camomille, sunflower seed, artichoke, banana, walnut, cherries, peaches, apricots, carrots, cranberry, kiwi, cloudberry and lingon berry. Hope this can help others understand some of the science and why this diet might work really well for some. Love from Sweden!
"This diet didn't feel reatrictive at first." This comment makes sense - I don't think any diet feels restrictive when you first start it because you're seeing immediate results; you're feeling good and excited being on that high of losing weight. Reality of the restrictiveness sets in after a time, and your body starts craving everything you cut out.
Then there’s the plateau. Then you go back to eating normally. Then you put all the weight back on. It’s like the merry go round of a diet that we’ve all done before. I’ve been there. So I see it. I really like Jaime. I hope she gets what she needs so she can feel better. This ain’t it though.
@@taylore6677 it’s hard… and it’s not even like she’s to blame. Diet culture got us all wrapped up. It’s everywhere being pushed on us everyday. Social media is relentless with this stuff. So. It’s to be expected you know.
@@tiffanyh1274 Oh, absolutely. I place no blame on her, or any of us who have been roped into these "miracle" diets that are unrealistic and unsustainable, and ultimately harmful (in more than one way). I'm really rooting for Jaime.
"I'm a work in progress." Well said! I appreciate your willingness to be so open and honest about your life, it really encourages me in my own struggles! Thanks so much Jaime!
Give us an update when you can. Dr Bright is truly bright. She’s amazing. She also comes to steak and butter gang monthly meetings. With her support you can adjust and find what works for you, to heal and long term.
500 days now on carnivore 10 carb. 1st attempt was 5 yrs ago made it 11 mo. then fell off the wagon for 2 years. I'd never forgotten the freedom from sugar and the flashy fast food lights and the artisan boxed foods. It's so liberating. Now, its, MEAT and eggs! single whole food meals. Loving it. Yes, I will always be a sugar addict but now, I only have tiny cheats and I'm able to control it well.
Carnivore diet changed my life. Not only the weight loss, but my fitness level. I'm 53, off all hypertension and cholesterol meds. Zero body pain, and I have the bloodwork of an 18 year old (according to my doctor). When she asked what changed and I told her she exclaimed "you can't do that!". I asked her if I should stop. Reluctantly she said "no". I also only need 4-5 hours of sleep. I just wake up fully focused with energy. I used to sleep in an entire weekend.
I’m on day 5 and am doing this diet mainly for arthritis pain and just aching joints. Can you tell me how long it took before your joint pain went away? I’m 60 years old and have been in so much pain over the last year I can’t stand it. I’m praying hard this turns my life around and I feel better. So far I’ve lost 4 lbs too. So that’s encouraging as well. Thank you for sharing your experience.
@@shelliendicott4736 about a month. You will go through some changes in that time, some may not be pleasant (bowel issues) but that is normal as your body switches how it processes energy from food. Stick with it. 🙏
@@shelliendicott4736 I got rid of most of the joint pain in about a month. Dropped Dairy and the rest went away within a few days. Pain comes back when reintroduce some dairy, except when it is A2 dairy products.
Very impressive that you of blood pressure meds. Thats great. My doctor told me that i have to take meds my whole life. This week I'm going to start with the diet as well. Thx for your testimony.
Well, no amount of diet and exercise will fix the issues a missing organ will cause. Your story is so similar to my mother. Always sick, allergic to everything, overweight, but all her blood tests were normal and they could never find anything wrong with her.
I actually did an experiment that I made up by myself. I decided to pick foods that are high in nutrients and very nourishing and try to cut out processed food completely. So, my largest portion was meat. The second largest was the vegetable, which I would usually pick sweet potatoes, broccoli, or asparagus. And the smallest portion would be a fruit. So I'd have an apple, or melon, or an orange. Every now and then, I'd have italian garlic pasta, but the pasta was made from vegetable puree and some flour. It was amazing! I started dropping weight like crazy! Not only did I lose weight, but I felt astonishingly better. I had more energy and was a lot sharper in my thinking. The only downfall is that groceries are expensive. I usually don't buy groceries all at once because I live paycheck to paycheck. So I usually like to play everything by ear so I don't overspend. But, I am trying my best to find ways to fit it in my budget because I loved the diet.
I've been trying to cut processed food out starting this past week, but of course my period depression and hunger made me immediately backtrack and eat all the bagels 😂 Once the red devil is gone it'll be easier to keep trying. It's nice to hear this plan works for someone
This is ideal IMO. Dr. Berg is awesome, and I made an excel sheet for tracking our family's vitamins and minerals. I have to be wary of nightshade and cruciferous veggies due to thyroid issues. Starch is limited for me too and I feel my best. ❤
This is an important comment! Almost any kind of special diet, especially carnivore or whole food plant based or raw vegan, is pretty elitist nowadays. Being able to afford organic produce and to survive without quick, filling foods such as bread or cereal isn't common nowadays. And even if you have the cash, you still need the time to prepare your own food as you usually can't eat out or eat processed snacks. Working full time and having a family often prevents people from having better diets. I wish healthy food was more easy and accessible
Omg im ded, i usually dont care one lick about potty humor but your joke about dr berry saying poop over and over cracked me up big time. God bless you for making the joke AND splicing some together like that holy crap
I love you lots but I gotta say….butter is dairy, it is literally cream that got stirred too much. Why is it not considered dairy? Why didn’t it bother you? It doesn’t make sense? On the other hand I’m glad you found something that works for you! I’m intrigued, just confused.
Jaime, I have experienced the EXACT same feelings of suffocating/pain and if yours has the same cause as mine I will explain: especially when you eat certain foods (dairy, veggies (especially greens), etc.) your body overproduces gas which fills up your digestive system. The excess gas causes your stomach/intestines to become distended (bloated) which then puts pressure on your diaphragm, making breathing a lot more difficult. This alone is bad enough, but if you are also prone to panic/anxiety, then this can cause you to tense up your chest and abdominal muscles, further exacerbating the issue. Any additional heartburn/reflux will only serve to make everything worse. When this starts to occur, take 2 chewable and 2 gelcaps of GAS-X. You will know if it works or not within 5-15 minutes, because the active ingredient in GAS-X is extremely fast-acting. Please let me know if this helps.
It sounds like a histamine reaction, which can get very similar to anaphylaxis. Some people unknowingly consume high histamine diet, or develop histamine intolerance that shows up anywhere from mild runny nose, suffocating feeling/nearly anaphylaxis, hives, etc.
We have come to not listen to our bodies: anything causing bloated and severe cramping means your body is telling you it CANT digest it. So why should we keep eating it? Why is it so hard for people to get this? Listen to your bodies. Plants arent there to be eaten. When you eat normal food (food humans ARE supposed to eat!), your body doesnt run on sugar anymore, but fat. It burns fat. Fat is fuel. (But you need to be zero carbs, zero sugar, including fake stevia and so on. THEN the body switches to how it was always designed to work, instead of storing sugar/carbs.) This way of eating isnt about losing weight, (losing weight come as a bonus), but getting your life back by getting rid of diabetes, joint pain, PCOS, gout, obesity, chronic inflamation, etc etc ETC. It's real.
IMO (used to be a subtype of SIBO) is also a relatively common reaction to plant foods. It's the methane. Most people can just let it go, no big deal, but a handful of every 1000 people over-produce methane and it just builds up. Thus, the chronic gas, bloating, indigestion, etc. Stop eating the plants, stop getting the problem. There's a breath test for it BUT you have to be able to afford that! @@marileerose5185
I did carnivore last year and felt great. Like your husband, my chronic back pain went away (had it for 25 years). Going back onto carnivore this month, your video has inspired me to try again ^^
Thank you for sharing this! As someone who has PCOS and hypothyroidism as well, it's incredibly difficult just trying to exist in this body. Your stories help me know that I'm not alone and that I shouldn't give up on myself. A million hearts to you! ❤

I had a diet that most people would consider an excellent diet for years. I did not eat junk, processed food or added sugar. I went carnivore (and kept my raw milk) as an experiment and honestly, I will never go back. I am over 6 years into it; just sailed thru menopause and my only symptom was a few hot flashes. I am 54 and feel better than I have ever felt in my life; and I have had a natural, organic whole foods diet for 30 years; so it is surely not because it is only because I gave up junk and processed food; I hadn't eaten that stuff in years. Everyone is different and surely there is no one size fits all but I feel way better without plant foods. 🙂
Jamie, this video made me cry. I am so happy for your diagnosis! I believe a lot of us have thyroid issues and we don’t know it. We also don’t realize how many problems relate to hormones and how most things we come into contact with on a daily basis are hormone disrupters. People don’t know that cholesterol is a hormone. It sure upsets me how doctors can be so narrow minded too. Big applause for Dr. Bright for looking outside the box and being able to diagnose you. 🎉
@@sweetsnejinka9411 lol it’s a steroid that’s a precursor to other steroid hormones like sex hormones. It’s just a quick google away. It’s even a way more complex process than that. My point is cholesterol is extremely important to the natural function of our bodies and there really isn’t a bad cholesterol, just one that should be in appropriate balance with the other.
@@sweetsnejinka9411cholesterol itself is not a hormone but it is used to create hormones (also cell membranes and vitamin D) hormones are also involved in the production of cholesterol
Any diet that restricts basic food groups is going to cause problems unless you are extremely careful. A strict carnivore diet, just like a strict vegan diet, requires careful planning with a variety of food sources within the allowed supply. With strict (meat only) carnivore, you need to eat organ meats and fish with small bones to get a variety of nutrients and calcium. You will always find doctors (who are usually selling a book/ad space on social media) cherry-picking data from studies to support their claims. Then they get fact-checked and have to backpedal like Anthony Chaffee did, just btw. That’s how we we get claims that are completely the opposite of each other. Carnivore might make you feel better because upping protein is linked to reduced depression symptoms. When you’re adding in fruits and veggies, you can be sensitive to certain varieties. Pickles can definitely cause sensitivity because of the vinegar. Tomatoes are part of the nightshade family and some people are sensitive to them. Raw cruciferous veggies can block iodine absorption & exacerbate hypothyroidism. Plus, they have lots of fiber & can cause tummy trouble if you eat too much too fast.
Hypothyroid makes so much sense. When you were describing what you felt like near the end - exhausted, burning arms, crabby etc. - that rang the hypothyroid bells for me. You'll probably feel loads better working with a practitioner who can help you to safely elevate your thyroid function.
Right Jamie. You can definitely find a hormone specialist who can prescribe thyroid for you. It’s absolutely essential. Nothings gonna work without it.
I agree. It explains her inability to lose weight and her other issues. If she can get her body regulated she might be able to digest plants which are essential for human health.
@user-jo5ml8et1z Except no plant is "essential". The entire spectrum of all nutrients is available in a meat based diet. Name one that isn't. Conversely, I can name many that you can not get from a vegetarian diet.
Jaime, I have to say you had me really worried talking about your weired suffocation sensation, combined with pains in your teeth, jaw, and neck, plus having swollen feet. That sounds CLASSIC heart-related symptoms! However, since you have been diagnosed hypothyroid (is it hashimoto's autoimmune?), it could be related to that. Please keep that checked and have them test you not only for T3, T4, and TSH but also antibodies. I am such a carb addict I have never been able to try an elimination diet to see if it made me feel better. I suck.
I had half of my thyroid removed due to cancer and I do thyroid suppressive treatment. I definitely changed after that. Very dry skin. I also have trouble converting folic acid into folate so I need to take a supplement. I feel you Jamie.
19:58 JAIME: I'm not sure if we share the exact same problem with the breathing issue. It took me nearly a decade for a doctor to find out what was going on with mine. She called it Globus Hystericus. I basically always felt like I had something stuck in my throat off and on throughout my years, it made if very hard to swallow and breathe. Even went so far as to have a nasal endoscopy done. Side note, if you ever have to do that it's a breeze. Welp, It's anxiety/stress related....all in my head. Even though the feeling was VERY real. Maybe check it out and see if it's something similar to what you're feeling.
@mmalbrig4450 I am no doctor. When I would have issues with my throat the more I focused on it the worse it felt. When you said something similar, it seems like it could be anxiety/stress. Usually, when you feel panic it makes the anxiety worse or you'll feel anxiety and then think about your swallowing, making you panic, etc. It can feel like a vicious cycle. I'd stay away from any kind of caffeine like coffee, tea, and even chocolates. It has helped me with the anxiety feeling. Sometimes my throat still bothers me but to be honest I would think about the "worst-case scenario" and it would oddly help me feel better. Worse case: I pass out and my body breathes for me because my mind has turned off and isn't panicking anymore and then I wake up from a lovely nap! (LOL) So, you WILL BE OKAY. I would 100% go to a different doctor though so you at least feel like you're being listened to. Maybe a specialist would be better because they can understand/pick up on things that other doctors can't. As my wonderful Aunt used to say to me, "Don't worry about it. Pray about it." Even if you aren't a praying person, I'll keep you in my prayers! You're going to be okay. :)
damn this makes me really consider it .. last time I did an allergy test they were like "I wish it was possible to test what you are NOT allergic to instead, because that would be much less" lol.. the only thing I wasn't allergic to was mold.... this might be a gamechanger for me too
what the heck.. I also do not have bodyheat.. I always joke saying I'm a gecko or something who takes on the temperature of her surroundings.. like if the bed is cold, I can't heat it up myself and it stays cold.. but if it's warm, I won't cool it down, it will stay warm. this entire video makes me wanna cry because I never realized that all these things are related and that someone is facing the same things..
JAIME! 💜 I’m so glad you did this video. I found myself in a similar situation late summer this year, and I’ve been on carnivore for about 45 days, and my life is changed forever. My depression is gone. I’ve lost nearly 15 pounds without changing anything else in my lifestyle. I am happier, skin is clear, mental focus is incredible, and I have much more energy than I did. There was an adjustment period (as there is with any big shift), but I can safely say that the benefits of carnivore outweigh any other “positive” experience I might gain from eating plant-based foods, sugar, etc. with any regularity. I’m so glad it’s done great things for you, and it really is a phenomenal way of life. I don’t consider it to be a diet - it’s just how I am. Also, massive bonus: I had major problems with obsessive compulsive eating and thoughts around food, and all of those are completely eliminated. I love this way of eating. Does it mean I will never have a dessert or a slice of pizza or a bowl of pasta? No - I’m sure I will partake occasionally, but as a way of being, carnivore is exceptional. And I’m so, so, SO glad it’s having a positive impact on your life. I was tremendously excited when I saw the title of this video, as I’ve been a long time follower. All my love to you!!
I just want to show my appreciation for the way Jaime says "he had two surgeries" and holds up four fingers. I'm so glad I'm not the only one who can't talk and count at the same time! 😂
I just laughed so hard at the “my poop” in the tune of “my humps” 😂 Jaime you are truly so hilarious. Also, you’re inspiring me to consider this diet even though I already have a serious meat aversion with chicken and beef.
I would honestly love to hear more about your thyroid struggles as a chunkier lady myself who has always struggled with my weight even when eating healthy. So glad you are working to figure out what works best for you!
I stopped with seed oils, all carbs and sugar incl. fruit. ie. Carnivore. I have no thryroid. Was overweight. Now 10 months on carnivore I lost 25 kilos. I was pretty commited. No problems. Been trying for years to drop kilos. Online carni community is great.
My sister has an actual allergy to red meat. It’s from being bitten by a tick and it’s actually getting pretty common in the US. Fortunately she’s vegan lol
@@DaniS398i know several people with this where I live. My uncle had it for about ten years and then it just went away. I also know a guy who said acupuncture really helped his symptoms.
I had adrenal fatigue too. I am (majorly) simplifying my journey here but I was told by several doctors that nothing was wrong and that I only had insulin resistance (“Your labs look great!”) but it just felt wrong. I did not feel great and it was so scary. With the severe depression, anxiety, hormone issues, uncontrollable weight gain and just feeling like I was exhausted by the simplest things, I knew there was something else wrong. I went to a functional medicine doctor who treated me like a whole person and went over my entire history. A few tests later and I was diagnosed adrenal fatigue, disregulated cortisol response, insulin resistance and issues with a struggling thyroid. Suddenly it all made sense. It’s been trial and error to see what worked for me too. I didn’t do carnivore but the biggest leap in my health happened after I started taking bovine adrenals and bovine thyroid in pill form. Basically all my other issues were caused by this issue with my adrenals. It’s been a bout a year since I started taking those and it’s been night and day difference. I woke up one day and was just like, OMG I’m back. I feel like me again. Still working on the weight loss but I’m not gaining anymore so Whoo hoo! I really hope you find something that works for you. And thank you for sharing your story. I’m so glad I found you on RUclips. It’s nice to see another Missourian being awesome. God bless girl!
Ive been carnivore since March 2023 and keto August 2022-Feb 2023. Guess what…. Lost 32kg, perimenapausal symptoms went away, and anxiety and depression gone!!! No more meds for me. I was sceptical too, but tried it for 10 weeks then was hooked. I’ve never felt so good in my life. Total life changer ❤
I have PCOS and the keto diet works really good for me, but like you, even knowing how much it helped I was struggling to get back on it. I wasn't even really liking the sweets and carbs but I also couldn't stop eating them. I had zero energy and that was NOT like me, although that was me for a long time. But i knew ME as a person liked to be on keto, i LOVED to workout, I loved digging into figuring out how to help my body not give into the PCOS symptoms. But it got to a point where I almost just accepted it as my new way of life and maybe i was just going to keep gaining until pcos took over completely. However, my last thought was just taking a bunch of vitamins (I also get low vitamin D levels constantly), i also started taking tumeric for inflamation, might moringa, and fish oil. By the NEXT DAY, I felt alot better, by day two i had ZERO cravings, by day 3 i had enough energy to get through the whole day of work without taking a nap on my break and then finally WORKING OUT. Day 5 of taking the vitamins i started 75 Hard and am not almost done with day 9, and being on the keto diet is EASY and i am starting to feel like my old self again. not sure if this will help anyone...but thought i would post, since i learn alot and get some good advice from youtube comments lol
I’m so delighted to have found you! This is the first video longer than 5 minutes that I’ve thoroughly enjoyed. I’m doing the Carnivore Diet- I’m sick of this weight and joint pain. xo🤞🤞🤞
I selected your channel to listen to bc your carnivore content, but I subscribed bc of your humor. So fun to listen to. With stage 4 cancer I'm ultimately looking for a diet that would loose weight and help pain/inflammation. I've been on carnivore for a month OMAD and feel great.
Wouldn’t it be awesome that this diet eliminated that cancer…you already feel great so keep going. My mother passed away from cancer and multiple tumors but she insisted on being vegan. The best to you!
I assume you have seen the videos with Thomas Seyfried, but if not, definitely check out his take on cancer and carnivore diet. HomesteadHow channel has done an interview with him recently. Prayers for healing for you.
Been ketovore for 4.5 years. I go back and forth between carnivore and ketovore. Totally worth it and my blood results are perfect. I'll never go back on carbs again. It has to be total abstinence. It's the only way to do it.
This is fascinating. When you think about how everyone's bodies, health struggles and lifestyles are so different from one another, it starts making sense that there's really no one-size-fits-all diet
There is one actually and it's CICO but Jaime has a hard time believing in thermodynamics. The only difference between people is their tolerances, allergies, etc which don't have anything to do with loss or gain but inflammation and other stuff.
My stomach would send me into crippling bouts of pain if I did the carnivore diet so I have to do low fat vegetarian. I say eat whatever makes you feel healthy.
@@HappytravellerkimmyI did the carnivore diet for 2 months and it made me extremely sick to the point of ending up at the hospital (without going into details). I was following all the principles to the letter, read the books before starting, took minerals and electrolytes every day, etc etc I was so sure I would get super healthy as they all push but it was the opposite. And I also lost a third of my hair. Now I’m on the Mediterranean diet and feel great, almost 20lbs gone.
There is one size fits all and its whats recommended by credible sources: a mixed diet low In cholesterol and high in mixed whole fiber, nutrition and fats, this is pretty consistent among everyone as well as its also the most flexible and diverse (: it excludes processed foods and puts importance on a diverse diet , this also helps the allergy thing too
It's not totally true , we are the same species , we have the same complex system, organs etc.. the carnivore diet CAN work for anyone if someone know really the human body. There is no recipe for everyone and carnivore diet is not a recipe , it's a concept we as human have evolve from it , so each people can need different ratio of fat and proteins , not the same frequency of meal , not the same amount of electrolytes and water, not everyone will take the same time to get 100% carnivore. But everyone CAN get the results others get on that way of living 🎉

I just started watching them and subbed!

"You know, when I had THYROID CANCER" I had NO idea, I'm so sorry you went through that!
I know :( I had no idea either
Less people would get less sick (and from less early ages as well), if they ate the proper way.
When you eat normal food (food humans ARE supposed to eat!), your body doesnt run on sugar anymore, but fat.
It burns fat. Fat is fuel. (But you need to be zero carbs, zero sugar, including fake stevia and so on. THEN the body switches to how it was always designed to work, instead of storing sugar/carbs.)
Then it is beginning to heal, and then you develop proper healthy body, healthy mind.
This way of eating isnt about losing weight, (losing weight come as a bonus), but getting your life back by getting rid of diabetes, joint pain, PCOS, gout, obesity, chronic inflamation, etc etc ETC.
It's real.

Jesus is a hoax. Find your own ethnic Gods. They have a vested interest in your well-being.
@@cassie1264 it definitely seems that way. I've been able to find a naturopath that uses both the functional and traditional health approach
Same!

I would so appreciate to hear all rhe things you are currently taking or doing to heal after being diagnosed by Dr. Bright
I’m a militant vegan, but I believe in eating for what suits your body. I’m so happy for you! Nothing better than feeling good in your own skin 💜
Love this 💖💖
Yes! I am vegetarian and when I’ve tried high protein/meat diets the weight has fallen off…with huge bouts of IBS and zero energy, so I stay away from meat. I feel so much better without animal flesh
I love this too! TY!
I didn't have enough energy on vegan to be militant about it. But like you said, you do you.
I don’t think you understand what militant means.

What are your favorite meals
This was a roller coaster
@@forty_two42High fruictos corn syrup causes fatty liver actually faster than alcohol
Oh, I love Dr. Berry and that clip you edited talking about his poop made me laugh so hard. Thank you for that! 😂🤣😂🤣😂
How did he treat it?
She looks great too, she’s glowing literally
Absolutely.
Me too!

Please spread the truth:
Fasted weight lifting has been shown to be far more beneficial than fed weight lifting.
Cardio is garbage.
I have not only lost 70 lbs (now 225 lbs, lowest weight since I was in my 20’s!!), I have also…
Reversed my Type 2 diabetes (A1C is now normal at 5.4) and fatty liver disease… my blood pressure is now normal, and I no longer have/suffer from:
arthritis in my knees
acid reflux
sleep apnea & snoring
headaches
brain fog
fatigue
And best of all…
my bipolar depression, anxiety and ADHD has gone into full and complete remission and with the help/consultation of my psychiatrist…
I am now OFF ALL MEDS and feel great!!
@SaltyD3plorable check out Dr... Doctor forgot his name ill be back
I did a sort of modified clean Keto diet.
Good advice!
I wish more Americans knew about MTHFR
Came here to say this!! There are, of course, several levels of severity when it comes to MTHFR gene mutation and it all comes down to chromosomal inheritance. There's also more than one chromosome that can be affected (that medical research has discovered thus far) and it's a good idea to get phenotyped.
was coming here to say that!
Yes, and if you get a double dose, like my daughter did, it can be overwhelming until it’s identified. Genetic testing can be very enlightening.
It’s so sad to me that doctors don’t just automatically investigate for their patients. No matter the affordability.
I 100% have those exact thoughts and feelings! I too struggle with various medical issues and have prayed for someone to do that kind of deep dive to help! It’s sad that these days most people are treated like a dollar sign 😢
try a DO instead of a DR. they are supposed to treat the body more as a whole than traditional DR
FKN 💀 at the Dr. Ken Berry mashup 😂

True and you’re doing something new and novel at the beginning so not really a restriction at first.
Then there’s the plateau. Then you go back to eating normally. Then you put all the weight back on. It’s like the merry go round of a diet that we’ve all done before. I’ve been there. So I see it. I really like Jaime. I hope she gets what she needs so she can feel better. This ain’t it though.

Sounds amazing

this sounds like my issue. What happened with your mom?
This sounds incredible! Could I ask about the pasta? Did you make it yourself or was it a certain brand from the grocery store?
I've been trying to cut processed food out starting this past week, but of course my period depression and hunger made me immediately backtrack and eat all the bagels 😂
Once the red devil is gone it'll be easier to keep trying.
What you’re describing is basically the anti-inflammatory diet/protocol! Or « AIP » diet! Good to know haha
Omg im ded, i usually dont care one lick about potty humor but your joke about dr berry saying poop over and over cracked me up big time. God bless you for making the joke AND splicing some together like that holy crap
Obsessed with this
I love you lots but I gotta say….butter is dairy, it is literally cream that got stirred too much. Why is it not considered dairy? Why didn’t it bother you? It doesn’t make sense? On the other hand I’m glad you found something that works for you! I’m intrigued, just confused.
The parts of dairy that most people have problems with is the lactose, the process of making butter removes almost all of it
Low lactose in comparison to straight milk. Especially if you take it even further to ghee and it’s literally just the solids.
You have such a pleasant voice. So much better than most tubers that pop up on my feed.

ALL OF THAT
Get your life back!

She is sooo funny. I’m not even sure I know what her message is but I can’t stop laughing. Ty
We all know laughing is healthy
Jamie, this video made me cry. I am so happy for your diagnosis! I believe a lot of us have thyroid issues and we don’t know it. We also don’t realize how many problems relate to hormones and how most things we come into contact with on a daily basis are hormone disrupters. People don’t know that cholesterol is a hormone. It sure upsets me how doctors can be so narrow minded too. Big applause for Dr. Bright for looking outside the box and being able to diagnose you. 🎉
I'm sorry? Cholesterol is the membrane which holds our bodies together. It is not a hormone.
Who named them basic food groups? The FDA wants us to eat bugs...
What did Dr Chaffee backpedal about?
Hypothyroid makes so much sense. When you were describing what you felt like near the end - exhausted, burning arms, crabby etc. - that rang the hypothyroid bells for me. You'll probably feel loads better working with a practitioner who can help you to safely elevate your thyroid function.
Right Jamie. You can definitely find a hormone specialist who can prescribe thyroid for you. It’s absolutely essential. Nothings gonna work without it.
Iodine is something all of us, regardless of diet, should be supplementing.
@InsolentVillager, Within safe levels of course. Too much iodine can also damage thyroid function.
I suck.
I think Jaime knew how deadly plants could be when she reviewed The Happening
😂
LMAO
ALLERGIES ARE THE TRUE HAPPENING
This just helped me start a rabbit hole and explains something I've been dealing with since I was a teen. Came back to thank you 😊
Ur doc is shit convincing you its psychological.
Stress and anxiety were at the root of my chest pains too. Very real, glad you got to the bottom of it!
Hi, I just want to say that psychosomatic symptoms, which appear for psychologic reasons, are very real. They're not "in your head". ❤
damn this makes me really consider it .. last time I did an allergy test they were like "I wish it was possible to test what you are NOT allergic to instead, because that would be much less" lol.. the only thing I wasn't allergic to was mold.... this might be a gamechanger for me too
omfg I posted this before I finished the video.. I'm also severely hypothyroid T_T it all makes sense
what the heck..
Could it be less the Meat aspect and more the absence of processed food in this diet that helps people so much?
that's what i'm thinking!
You would think but a lot of people going into carnivore used to be keto, paleo or vegan. It’s intriguing.
That’s exactly what it is.
Vegetables aren’t processed?
@@chelseaesposito4860it’s a fad
I just want to show my appreciation for the way Jaime says "he had two surgeries" and holds up four fingers. I'm so glad I'm not the only one who can't talk and count at the same time! 😂
I'm on day 22 carnivore. I'm so happy so happy
I just laughed so hard at the “my poop” in the tune of “my humps” 😂 Jaime you are truly so hilarious.
Also, you’re inspiring me to consider this diet even though I already have a serious meat aversion with chicken and beef.
Seriously!! The best!
Same soooo great!!
I love Jamie's humor and expressions. I got several chuckles.
I was wondering if anyone would bring up alpha-gal syndrome.
I heard about that this year! Such a crazy thing. I hope your sister's doing OK.
yep....just got diagnosed last year. sucks.
@@DaniS398i know several people with this where I live. My uncle had it for about ten years and then it just went away. I also know a guy who said acupuncture really helped his symptoms.
The C word can also make you allergic to meat
I’m doing the Carnivore Diet- I’m sick of this weight and joint pain. xo🤞🤞🤞
laughing my HEAD off at the Dr. Berry "POOP" video - so fricken funny!!
Me too!!

Good luck with your treatment! I wish you the best and am praying for you
Been ketovore for 4.5 years.
