  • We found this collection on Goodwill Online Auction back in late February 2021.
    Price paid $601 plus S/H
We where hoping for a better condition Ken Dryden Rookie card, as the top right corner was blown out. It will maybe score a 3 as the rest of the card is in fairly good shape, centered nicely, and is bright and smooth.
We do not find any good Gordie Howe cards, in which they where probably removed through the years.
4-5 Bobby Orr card but no base Bobby Orrs unfortunately.
    Many Phil Esposito base cards
    Scotty Bowman Coach Rookie
    Tim Hortins 1969
    Jean Beilveua 1969
Only one Bobby Hull, which was an all star type card.
All the cars where in fair condition, with minor corner wear. Very little bent cards.
In the video I sort them by year, so we can make sets later and have them better organized in the meantime.
These will all be for sale on the new website we will be releasing shortly, and will be announced in the next few vidoes.
Feel free to message me with offers on any of these sets or cards, I’m happy to deal.

Marcel Donny?! That and the way you pronounced Guy told me right away that you're not Canadian. Box was worth a gamble but no Orrs and the damaged Dryden means the guys top cards were in another box that was probably kept or sold by the family that donated these.

Not all the way through the video and have been caught off guard by some of this ignorant comments. Definitely a good job, it's really just the French names.... I have just recently picked up my first Gretzky, Lemieux, Messier and Roy Rookies via trades for some of my signed memorabilia collection, keeping an eye out for dryden now but is going to be hard to not over pay. Hope you score another in this video before it's through. I'd definitely be willing to purchase a Dryden that isn't up to snuff! 😉

Amazing deal on those. There are a lot of big names in there besides the ones you set aside. Good luck.

Hockey only? Not so fast says Dalton Jones. Plus the car. Ben Davidson was a good DT on Oakland’s 11 angry men defense. Plus he later acted. . Lol. I’m brand new to hockey. I live in the PNW and am excited for the Kraken to begin. That said? I really dig vintage stuff. Glad I found your channel.

Good box of cards. I do think the sellers placed that Dryden rookie in a way that buyers wouldn't see the damage. Very dishonest. Your second Dryden looks good. $109 is a great price for that right now. I was hoping you would turn the 1969-70 cards over to see if you had the stamps on the backs. The Esposito may have one. 69/70 is my favorite set of all time and I grab as many as I can get my hands on if in good shape. Id be interested to know how may of the cards had the stamps. You can look at the back of the cards to see which players had a stamp that year. There is an empty space for the stamp to be applied. There has been arguments made over the years to which is better to have, the card with or with the stamp applied. I buy both when I can. I just think they are so cool. Anyway, good job and keep up the good work on the videos.

Yeah, the sellers where goodwill.. so it was like a donated box, and I think they put that note in there for the people listing the cards. Maybe someone went through them who knew modern hockey or something and didn't really understand who was who.. Maybe outside of bobby hull, bobby orr, and gordie how because those where basically missing. The checklist tho, do not have those cards checked off on the other hand.. I can only be skeptical.

You missed a ton of Hall of Famers, Legends and Rookies. Go back through them Brad Park, Gil (Gilbert) Perreault, Glenn Hall, John Bucyk, Walt Tkaczuk RC, Bernie Parent, Wayne Cashman RC, Rod Gilbert, Jean Ratelle, Vic Hadfield, Ed Giacomin, Yvan Cournoyer etc. Team count too, in this era. Bruins & Canadians will get you the most return. Get your hands on a price guide it will help you out. I've been collecting hockey cards exclusively for 30 years. Unfortunately all Topps from what I can tell.

Well.. it was my first time with this old of cards, all way before my time. $600🤙 I wasn’t around back then, so I haven’t heard these names much in modern tv or radio. Your probably an old timer. Old timers sometime give us newer collectors a hard time with these cards, which gets old. Sometime people are going to join the hobby. This is good; but if they don’t join the hobby, nobody will spend the money I just did to buy your collection when it’s time.

@@hockeycardsonly3025 I'm old. And likely a bit too harsh. I deal in sports cards and am a historian on the cardboard industry. I should have said "nice effort" and left it at that. But I didn't. Sorry. And no, I don't want to have a heart attack.

Well Gordon, I’ll be the first to say; what your doing right is very bad for the hobby. Total turn off for new collectors and how your acting you should be ridiculed by your comments.
You seem to be a real insecure fella. Some of us are not in it solely for the money. I’m glad I made the purchase if I don’t double up, it wasn’t about that. This is my “first set” of cards older than maybe 78, which I would have only picked up a few weeks prior. New hobbies need to start somewhere and this was where I started with older cards. Your a creep buddy 🤠🤙🍻
