Zachary Levi (Shazam!, Chuck) goes deep into his mental health journey this week, opening up about his realization of just how ‘ungood’ he was despite the accomplishments and great things happening in his life.
Zach goes on to share his newfound understanding for the dopamine he received by working and how during this pandy he’s had a more clear realization of just how much self worth he receives from his career.
We also get into the super power of vulnerability, keeping perspective of your own mental health, and Zach’s take on his position in the DC Universe.
Shazam! Star Zachary Levi... Opening Up Like Never Before (2021) Inside of You Podcast #insideofyou Развлечения
Fun Fact, Zachary Levi is the only actor to be in Marvel Universe, DC Universe, Disney Universe, Star Wars Universe.
Also, The VGHS Universe, Halo, Fall Out, Robot Chicken and Lego Universe.
Pissed me off when they killed him off so easily in Ragnarok.
Been a fan since Chuck days.
Sesame Street.
AND....Chuck Universe.
Did he voice act in New Vegas?
@@thewintersoldier8387 Yeah he was the doctor you can pick up.
Didn't think Zach had more he could open up about after the previous episodes, but he continues to amaze. A prime example of what this podcast is trying to do, through sharing stories of mental health struggles that a lot of people can learn from and relate to. Great episode!
Seeing them open up helps volumes 🙌 but seeing their passion and how happy they get talking about some things is incredibly heartwarming 🌞
@@Caught1nTh3Crossfire Agreed
Michael Rosenbaum should play Flash, he got that cool charm!
Flash from Justice Leauge 2001
Yes, I absolutely agree!
Gosh! As a licensed therapist who has worked with actors, CEO's, and people from all walks of life, I just thought this episode was incredible. I appreciate both of your authenticity, vulnerability, and wisdom!
Lex Luthor and Shazam, locked in a room, but understanding and Love come out. I dig it.
Zac is such a huge inspiration and encouragement to me. He's a bright beacon of love, light & hope.
After I had my first miscarriage in July 2020, I actually listened to one of the other podcasts you did with Zach, and it just brought so much healing and clarity. I’m in a much better place now than I was then, but listening to this session felt just like what I needed to hear today. So glad I came across your channel again. ❤️
I'm sorry for your loss.
Remember his Chuck days lol. Crazy to think how young I was back then.
Same. I was in middle school and got the first episode for free at Best Buy. They were on cds in little sleeves at the counter as promotion.
@@francheska3128 bro I’m 22 now so it’s crazy 😂😂
I still rewatch it every couple of years. To this day I think this is the series that had the most heart in it.
@@happzy show was boss part from the two people who worked at nerd herd. Hated them
@@bruce1577 Jeff and Lester, they grew on me.
I've had the pleasure of meeting Zac three times: once when he was on Broadway in "First Date" and the other two times at C2E2 and Wizard World in Chicago. The last time he saw me he remembered me. Cannot wait to have that book of his in my hands. He has lived quite the life.
Chuck Bartowski in the house yes. He was so good as Shazam in Shazam! (2019). He was great as Fandral in Thor: The Dark World (2013) but very sad with his quick demise in Thor: Ragnorak (2017). I just love his personality and he himself is a fan which is just awesome.
love the guy ,might be my favorite episode with him
@@InsideOfYouPodcast He is just awesome.
Zac is such a gem of a guy. He nailed Shazam!
I love Zachary Levi. He’s such a bright light in this world. I’m such a huge fan of yours Mr. Rosenbaum and I listen to your conversations to help me feel more positive.
I was born with HIV, and the talk about stigmas Zac and Michael had was so beautiful. Thank you both for your wisdom
Not sure where I'd be if it wasn't for Michael and Zac opening up about their mental health struggles and successes and setbacks and gains again. Takes a lot of the shame away and allowed me to reach out for help in my local community. Thank you Michael Rosenbaum because you've literally saved my life.
I listened this morning and I can’t begin to tell you how much what Zac said spoke to me. It was thought provoking and I cried a couple of times. Zac is such an intelligent man who knows so much about mental health. Every time he comes on the conversation you have together and things you’ve both shared has been extremely helpful to me and my own journey with my mental health. Thank you so much Michael and Zachary.
@Michael Rosenbaum really? Sending phone numbers now? You aren’t fooling anyone. Michael has the means to contact me if he wanted to and he knows exactly who I am so fake accounts that don’t even “talk” the way Michael does will never fool me. I’m not stupid. Or desperate.
I am a huge fan of Chuck but never knew Zach was so articulate. Man has earned my deepest respects.
Love Zach Levy for so many reasons. What an amazing human being. I would LOVE to meet him one day 🙌🏼
"Fake it till you make it" - let's move that to "Believe it till it happens" 🤗❤🙏👏 It's ongoing work, and thank you for sharing this journey. God bless 🙏
I met Zach back in December 2019 at ComicCon and he was the nicest, most down to earth guy possible. I hope to meet him again some day 🤘
Mee too! Wales comic con...I was the girl who did the mental health speech in the DC panel :)
@@mojochaddy oh shit u were there too? That’s sick! I was gonna go back for the April one but obviously COVID hit sooo 🤷🏻♂️😂

His comment about vulnerability is so true. Being open and proud of yourself and your journey is the most empowering thing in the entire world. Thank you
I never excepted to hear a celebrity be able to speak about mental health as if he was speaking directly about me. Thank you, Rosey!
Wow! Zachary has a great voice!!
He sang on broadway and in tangled
I have already listened to it. I love zach and the episode was really good, I love that he always has something different for us each time he has been on all interesting. Such a lovely guy. So I will be happy to watch it at some point tomorrow. ❤
Couldn't agree more!
I agree too about watching it at some unprecise moment tomorrow
Physical, Mental, and Emotional health needs to be balanced for one’s inner peace. So many positive and post moments in this episode.
I'm only 15 minutes in but I want to say, as someone who just got a Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, I love how much you advocate for mental health and how open you are about it. Hearing about people on platforms such as yourself and your guests, it really has a positive impact for people. I'm proud to call myself a fan of your work and your podcast and thank you for everything you do!
Thank you. Thank you for being so down to earth and human about daily struggles. It's refreshing to hear honest conversations during such a unsettling time!
Michael, I wanted to thank you and Zach for being so open about the feelings and stress that you have faced. I thought I was one of the few that felt stressed and depressed with all that is going on in the world today. Thank you both for sharing.
I absolutely love the friendship you and Zach have! The other two times he was on were some of my favorite episodes and I listened to them more than once. Anyone who can talk so honestly and openly about mental health, holds a special place in my heart as it’s so important for everyone to understand, not just those diagnosed with it. So excited to watch this episode...I know it will be wonderful as usual! Keep up the amazing work, Rosey! So proud of you and love you lots! 😘💙
Thank you for this video and podcast. As someone who suffers from depression and anxiety, seeing two of my favorite actors say most of the things that I feel means a lot to me. I think I need to make a change in my life.
I love how Zac says he’s an empath. My therapist calls it a feeler. She says that I’m a feeler and feelers are healers. Zac is also a healer!
another gem of an episode! I love Zac, he’s an amazing human being! it’s a great thing you’re doing here Rosey! we need more people like you & Zac to talk about mental health & to help remove the stigma surrounding it! 🙌🏻🤗
Perfectly said!
Yup. I feel this so freaking hard. I have had to get multiple root canals. Literally and figuratively.
Also, I ended up in the ER once because I thought I was having a heart attack. Turns out I was having my first (but definitely not the last) panic attack, and I was so embarrassed and ashamed, but the doc was the best, because he assured me that it was a real, physical thing that was happening to me and it wasn't just "in my head."
This was a great episode that touched on a number of things I'm trying to work on. Really identified with what Zach was saying about depression feeding negative thoughts and making you interpret things that happen through a negative lens. Also with the dopamine rush of a purchase and how that fades and makes you want to get the rush again. Thanks for continuing to speak about mental health in an encompassing way ❤️
I was really depressed for the first month of the pandemic, mainly because I was cut off from my family. But I learned I didn’t have to be afraid to live my life, and that it wasn’t necessary to stay away from my loved ones. And, yay, he has a girlfriend now too, I’m very happy for him.
Thank you very much!
A huge hug from heart to heart!🥰🥰
Zachary Levi will always be Flynn Rider to me from Tangled. Loved him ever since then. His so underrated.
If His new movie Shazam Gods of fury work out then the underrated tag will no longer exist
As someone who suffers from depression as well, thank you for your openness and honesty regarding this issue. We tend to think that those who are successful (especially in Hollywood) don't struggle with these same issues.
BTW, love your Rocky shirt.
Love when he’s on the show! We need Chuck to come back and for you to play the villain!
Looking forward to listening today or tomorrow. The past times Zach was on it was pretty good. Keep up the awesome episodes! ♥️
You got it 💙 this one might be the best zach ep.
I love how honest and frank this discussion was. It was very refreshing.
bruh zachary just never quits amazing and inspiring me
I love how open and honest Zach is. The two of you really are a perfect fit discussing mental health issues and it is so important to get checked and not let issues fester. Thank you for the third chat. I am ready for the next one 😊
I really love this longtime pure, respectful and powerful bond between Zachary and Michael because they explain each other about how much they love other human beings and they really want to make a difference in this world. 💙😇🙏 Both of them really want to spread their empathetic love for others who needed that kind of love so badly. When this whole pandemic thing is officially over, I would love to see these two together at any convention while explaining the power of Empathy aka Pathos. 💕 Even meeting them in person, of course, I wanna give those two a group hug 🫂, I can tell they’re the best huggers ever!
This was amazing!! Thank you both for being so open, I’m dealing with my own depression. And this has opened my eyes. You both have inspired me to start to get some help. Thank you.
Yay!!! So excited for this one!! Love the conversations you, Zach have and how deep you guys get. I know this episode will be amazing as they always are. Thank you for getting him back on the podcast Michael.
Happy Tuesday 💙
Happy Tuesday 💙 Lil Lisa
Zachary's full blown smile is Everything 😁
Yeah he has an awesome smile and a great laugh.
He’s one of my favorite guests you have and each time it gets better. Love it. Very open and just real
Love being a fly on the wall with such real indepth conversations like this. So much good to unpack here, will have to watch again to absorb it all!
As much as I love every episode, this one has really touched me. Such an amazing conversation.
I love the interactions between these two. Just two friends talking about the stuff going on in their lives, the good, the bad, and trying to get through it all. Hope they get a chance to hang out and chill sometime soon once all this pandemic craziness calms down.
I had a ticket to both of your live shows you were going to do in Austin with Zach, so it’s so nice to still get to hear you guys chat and discuss issues that we’re all struggling with. You two have such meaningful conversations that you should do it regularly! You guys are the best and you do so much for your listeners!
This has been one of your best episodes. I've always liked Zach, he is such an inspiration. Thank you
I needed to hear this today. My daughter has Bipolar 1 and its been a battle to try to understand what she goes through on a daily basis. It feels as though I understand her processes better. Thanks guys I now am more empowered to be a better mother to be able to aid and assist my child. Keep up the good fight.. x
Wow, I loved this so much, I ended up listening to it on repeat! Thank you, to both of you, for being so open and honest. ❤️
As we are still in Lockdown up here, having this Podcast to look forward too every Tuesday is making it easier.
Omg so looking forward to being able to travel again and get out and do our dog sports again. Glad you were able to get away and relax, unwind and just do you Michael. We all need that. Look forward to listening to Zach again. As always this Podcast is amazing, its so very real, and nice to hear form others that have had things happen in their lives and how they dealt with it. Thanks Micheal and Crew for a fantastic day.
I started watching him on Chuck when I was 6 years old. To this day 12 years later I still rewatch Chuck.
Zachary Levi is an amazing man, love his openness. So talented yet so vulnerable. I’m glad you both became friends...great chemistry together and look forward to your next episode with him.
This is a great one- love the guests you have had on recently! And yes, FB and any social media is watching what we are viewing- I had to recently change my FB security setting to restrict their viewing my off FB activity. If you have not u checked that- they watch, and you need to clear your history.
So glad you both share what help works for your mental and emotional support! Thanks for that! These podcasts are extremely helpful to us, as well as let us know you and your guests struggle as we all do. We are all human and need to support one another💜
Great interview. Zach is such a good actor. He was adorable as Chuck and made Shazam work. Thanks!
Hands down your VERY BEST EPISODE... this helped me so much and amazingly came at EXACTLY the right time! love you guys so much
Thank you, we needed this!
Loved this show. Glad I'm always tuning it.
Thanks to both of you for sharing your thoughts on mental health and your how you processed it in your life.
I could watch you two all day, you always have great conversations that are so inspirational and relatable, thank you both. Gary
Looking forward to this one! I love your rapport with Zach. His episodes are among my favorites 🖤💙
then this might be your favorite favorite :)
It's wonderful to see how comfortable you guys are in sharing about your struggles. This is a huge step in normalising it.
Excellent conversation! Thank you Zachary and Michael for a fantastic chat.
Love this interview. Zach is great and I really, really loved him in Shazam and in Chuck (I have all the DVDs). I will see anything he does and I hope he can do a sequel to Shazam.
There is a sequel planned but it may be a few more years and a black adam film (shazams main villain).
Shazam 2 is literally filming in a few months.
I believe Shazam 2 is filming this May but it won't be coming out until 2023.
Michael, I love all of your episodes. Please continue to do this podcast. I felt this same way about Rogan's podcast when he started. All of his episodes are good as well just like yours. Your variety of guests is just - chef's kiss.
Another amazing episode Michael 💙 Congratulations again on that milestone on RUclips You help a lot of people with what you do Thank you🎉👍
Thank you both for having such an open and sincere conversation! Truth and honesty are incredibly healing and powerful! So take care you guys!! Til next time...ciao!!
Your videos/podcasts are really enlightening and helpful. And seemingly perfect, like I find different ones that speak directly to me. So much thanks truly.🤗
Thank you so much for bringing attention to mental health problems and de-stigmatizing them. It helps to know that people like you, Zachary Levi, & Brandon Routh, people who on the outside seem like they have it made, also struggle with depression and anxiety!
Zachary Levi continues to amaze me! I love how totally open and raw he is without being judgemental, just straight up and real, talking about all the things that most folks shy away from because of as he says the "stigma". Humans are much more complex than most people realize and there are many ways in which we need to address how we care for ourselves. Thanks as always Rosey for bringing great guests to the podcast and getting into the nitty gritty showing listeners that we're all human, we all have problems and that we can all learn from one another. Much love and respect! 💝
Wow. Amazingly powerful and candid episode. Could really relate to Zach. I have a family member that is bipolar and we have had many talks about the importance of understanding the biochemistry behind it. I am so glad he came on..hope you both realize what great people you are and are worthy of being loved. ❤️
THANK YOU SOOO MUCH FOR THIS. This validated alot of how I've been feeling lately, I can relate to both of you so much. Really, really appreciate you guys. 🙏🏼🤗🌻💙
i really needed this today, thank you!
He is so handsome omg
Zach and Rosie.. what a beautiful friendship... I love the fact you break it down and are so very open with each other and us... much love and support your way... from your neighbor here in Austin... thank you.
If you ever want a good home cooked meal and art lessons.. hit me up!
❤️❤️❤️
Ok so I watch them all but when you have Zachary on I click quick.
Watching now
Thanks Ryan and Michael, love you guys, and have loved Ryan being in the studio too
dig it 😎
@@InsideOfYouPodcast this one was a bit of a breakthrough for me “I get almost all of my dopamine from work” was the sentence that opened a window for me there.
That just blew my mind. I’ve been struggling for a while and just pushing it down inside, hearing people talk like you do Michael is always helpful, but that sentence from Zach just clicked a piece of the puzzle into place for me.
Helping people and being successful at work has always been a driving force in my life, and the change in how I work has really pushed that feeling away from me.
I see now that I need to find a new way to achieve that so that I have new dopamine pathways.
One sentence in the last 2-3 years has been the most effective thing I’ve heard.
Literally have a tear in my eye here and I’m English
Thank you guys, if you can let Zach know how much that means to me somehow I would appreciate it
Totally forgot he was in marvellous midge maisell!!!
Can’t wait to get to this one this evening during my bike ride (echelon baby!). Thanks for each Tuesday, Rosey. Much love, as always!!
Mr. Levi, thank you for being so articulate, you're saying exactly the things that I've started to recognize and understand, at a very advanced age. I've loved every minute of this.
Something told me to check out the channel today. Glad I did I needed it. Thank you.
Thanks for sharing, I really appreciate the topics you have shared, and the insights touched upon resonates in my life, so thank you!
Been waiting for this podcast ep, just so so good!! I could listen to an inside of you Zac podcast for hours, I’ll be having this one on repeat again that’s for sure. Oh and the exit musical numbers, ah man, I love them.....you taking requests!? 🤣
The honesty and openness brought me to tears.
Thanks for this!❤
Recently been signed off work with depression, whole new ball game after suffering anxiety in this past, this is a whole new world of pain. Currently starting medication to see if that helps, this episode has come out just when i needed to see this, props to you and Zach, this is a conversation that will help people 🖖
Thank you guys. Really. From the bottom of my heart. Thank you.
I started being a fan of Zac with Chuck, like many of us. But I could never imagine what an amazing person he is and how much good he has brought to my life.
It takes a lot of courage and humility to open up yourself like that for everyone to see, hoping you can bring some light to other people’s struggles.
I don’t know any other celebrity who has managed to be this open and this private at the same time. I don’t know much about his personal life/ love life/ day to day life like with other people who share it in social media. But we know your heart, because you’ve always being so incredibly honest and open with it.
God bless you Zac, and thank you so much for being who you are and sharing what you’ve learned on your journey with us and for fighting the stigma against mental health issues. You’ve helped me to be more kind and understanding with people in my environment who struggle with it. I’ll keep you and yours in my prayers
spot on! thanks for another brilliant talk about depression and anxiety! i'm nodding along.
2am in the uk and i saw Zach was on the podcast so i couldnt go to bed. Chuck was one of the first things i revisited when lockdowns first hit and in interviews he always makes so much sense. I have struggled with these issues in last few years so its nice to see celebrities drop the facade and share more than they have to. Keep the pecker up even if you dont use it guys. Thankyou
Wonderful episode! Zach definitely touched on some things that hit home for me. 2020 turned my world upside and I'm still trying to find my way back. All while dealing with my own anxiety and depression. It's been hard.
Exactly! Life was hard enough with my depression and anxiety. Then a pandemic hits?!
Loved when he came on last time. I'm sure this time will be no different:) congrats on the hundred k subscribers. 🤘🥳
My fiancé has depression and this episode has been such a big eye opener for me in understanding about what he goes through! I love listening to your podcast and I always learn something new from each episode!
BAM!!!! A fellow EMPATH!!! I was trying to change my life and claw my way back when this Pandemic hit! It is hard to do when you are picking up everyone else's stress and baggage on top of my own. I relate to EVERYTHING you two talked about. GREAT JOB GUYS!
I love this podcast. Really helpful. I have depression and anxiety. I've run away from it (like everyone tried to do) but I'm so glad I accept help and listened to my doctor and took medication recommended as if helped me out of a bad situation. (Note everyone different listen to your doctor). Glad you both are so open. makes people feel more ok to discuss it. I still don't like talking about depression and anxiety. Had to have a few days off work for depression and ashamed to tell them and worried it would change their perception of me. Also felt bad as short staff due to covid. But everyone was supported and didn't care of change their perception of me.
Also thought I needed to add. RUclips is a bit of my dopamine. Literally have to watch it before bed.
Thanks again for being so open and sharing.
Loved this episode for so many reason's. Both you & Zachary are so inspirational and I appreciate what it takes to talk about yourself especially when you have anxiety when all you want to do sometimes is crawl inside your own skin & close the zipper forever. I've missed Zachary's Instagram posts so much even if it was just a sunset or him playing with the dog's because he is such a light and I always felt at peace when I would watch them. When he stepped back and took a break from social media It left a hole & I missed it so much which sounds selfish I know, but after watching this episode It's understandable why he took that break & I appreciate him even more now. Sending love & best wishes to you Zachary & Thank you 💜💜💜
Thank you for the open and positive conversation about medication for mental health! I think mental health conversations often come across as "you can be healthier if you just work harder." Sometimes brains are born broken and no amount of work fixes them.
I don't watch TV so I didn't know who Michael or Zachary were.. but I LUV them!! Being soo transparent is refreshing, convo by convo removing the stigma of mental health and well being.. thanks fellas!
Great show! Thank you, Chuck is one of my favorite shows! Always a pleasure to spend some time watching such a joyous person!
