@@alexy5611 It becomes slow as it evolves and I don't want to offend any fans but Ash is not a strategic trainer and sucks at strategically using Pokemon which are slow but offer a lot of bulk and attack. That's why he couldn't use Torterra properly because he's incapable of using such a Pokemon as he lacks patience.

YEAH i choose turtwig in Platinum and now it's a Torterra and won the league with her I nicknamed her Forestia and she's 100% my strongest pokemon...ever
The thing I've always loved about Torterra is how it seems to be inspired on the legend of the world turtles. That legend explained earthquakes as a result of the turtle adjusting the world on it's shoulders -- that probably explains why it is a ground type.
Quick Fact: The reason Torterra didn't have Earthquake in the anime was because Earthquake ITSELF was essentially removed from the anime. The reasoning is similar to why Porygon and its evos aren't in the show either. Basically, an earthquake hit Japan (or at least I THINK it was Japan), and after the MOVE Earthquake was used in an early episode of the anime (either the Johto or Hoenn seasons), that episode got banned. Since then, it and other moves LIKE it (such as Magnitude) haven't been used. Though, oddly enough, BULLDOZE has been seen being used every now and again.
I use a Torterra myself and I can confidently say he's a physical fortress/bulldozer by his own right. Jericho (my Torterra) was my first Sinnoh starter and I'll always hold him very dear, thanks to his Impish nature he's the physical shield of my team.
Love turtwig. It’s my favorite of the sinnoh trio. Second favorite starter ever. And in my top 10 favorite Pokémon of all time. And it evolves at 18 which means it’s a cute turtwig for longer than the other two. 😂

I'm calling it, there's gonna be an anime season where Ash uses his old pkmn heavily throughout the season. Maybe in some sort of battle frontier style series that comes from a game mode we get to play through in the upcoming generations
I knew that Torterra was the Second Fully evolved starter of Ash to be owned by a Rival, Ash’s Torterra was the first Of Ash’s Pokemon to evolve while battling his rival, Ash’s Torterra has lost every battle he fought in after evolving, That in the Manga Diamond owns a Torterra and that Torterra was based on the ankylosaurus while the rest I didn’t know and I found that The Turtwig line is the Heaviest starters and here is an extra fact their are a total of Four Characters in the Anime that own the Turtwig line 1, Ash 2, Paul 3, Gardenia 4, Kai.
I think Ash's Torterra had a bad nature. Speed raised Attack lowered. My friend had that happen to him. He hated his Torterra. I loved mine. Mine had a good nature. Until I lost my data on Diamond. But yeah, Torterra is awesome

Because Ash seems to be the same character, growing and aging until Best Wishes. And for all the Ash/Misty shippers out there, I think at the end of Diamond Pearl and Platinum, Ash went back to Pallet Town to be with Misty and that Best Wishes Ash went to Kalos and had deep feelings for Serena.) Ash Prime should have known Torterra was Grass/Ground and tried to use him better than he did. At the very least, make him a good Grass type. Or am I thinking this kid who knows how to save Legendary Pokemon is Smarter than he really is?

If Ash never got Chimchar, the big rivalry between Ash and Paul could have culminated in a battle between their two Torterra instead, but instead Chimchar got all the love and attention from the writers. Makes me kind of resent Infernape.
