Seems like good news for Warcry players too. I don't know how competitive they are, but a lot of these warbands have super flavorful rules.
Yeah, being able to get some of the discontinued warbands would be great
ya i completely agree. i love the unique sculpts, and warcry is awesome. one of the few games, that is just fun, and needs very little new content to always be enjoyable!
Oh wow underworld models can be used in the regular game and warcry?
Still waiting on the Sons of Velmorn. The coolest sculpts that you absolutely cannot get.

GW is probably going to do a made to order or in a separate box later on in the year. They probably doing what they can to prevent scalpers from buying these deal boxes. The wurmspat (nurgle warband) is another pricey warband that was omitted for the launch.
I bought the Gnarlwood box just for those.
As primarily a painter, I’m thrilled by this. As long as the price is right, I’ll be picking up the ones I’ve missed out on for these.
This is great for Warcry as well. A lot of Underworlds are competative or at base level playable in warcry with every model having its own stat block.
I've never played underworlds, so id have to learn the rules, but having a box of 4 might mean i could play with friends who dont own any models, or at least trade them with people online- im eyeing up the chaos one, i've wanted ephilim's pandaemonium for the longest time

GW announces a product. then a few weeks later, it goes on the pre order list, and then i do a price video. you want me to make up a price? we know its going to be a good deal, because its a 4 pack box, so its always discounted, but literally nobody on earth knows the price yet...

If anyone needed any proof that Underworld has been a massive failure, GW is actively trying to make packs of it that are actually worth the money they ask.

I never got into it,as they didn,t support it and I wasn,wasn't, paying those scalpers 3to5 times for what they were worth,kinda what they did to those seige of Terra books:35dollars and the scalpers are selling them for 400!

I love having the grymwatch back as they’re one of those warbands I liked but kept postponing the purchase.

I must be an odd duck as I can't get in to a lot of the AoS factions. I love the Chaos stuff and most of the human order forces but the elves and dwarfs (or whatever the copyrighted name is now) don't do much for me. I love the Orcs and Goblins (sorry, I know you love the Kruleboyz but they are a meh for me - maybe if I had painted some they would grow on me).
I agree with your major points here and am glad GW seems to be making this for players and less for profit. I think they can satisfy both models if they are smart but the pendulum needs to come back towards players in the near future. This edition might get me back into Underworlds (and I guess I can play 52plus card pickup with all of my 1st edition cards!)
ya i think each set has its own appeal, to different people. i'm really excited for some chaos dwarves! the kruleboyz have really grown on me over the years. remind me of the LoTR orruks, and i love the monsters, and dingy ork look over the more clean/cartoony orks. but dont get me wrong i have more Ironjawz, than any other sigmar army! i've never played or been that interested in underworlds, but absolutely love the models
Pretty much all combo packs are cool, I'd love to get the Chaos one. Too bad the out of print Darkoath warband isn't doing a comeback.

It's amusing to see Games Workshop finally realizing that the molds they had cut for a particular set of sprues don't get worn out to unusability in (say) six months of production, and can be used for years if not decades to produce product instead of letting them run out and become available after one initial molding run. Presumably their pricing has in the past been set up to recover the cost of the mold(s) from the sales of the initial production run, so the only additional cost they're looking at is the labor to change the molds in the injection-molding machine; the big expense has already been recouped, so it's almost all profit.
Bugger I only 1 from each box.
