Here's one: As time went on, Em got more and more underrated with 2 exceptions being Kamikaze and Recovery hear me out starting with SSLP, Em was talked about and staying in people's mouths everywhere. This held true all the way through until 2004 with Encore. Encore was much worse compared to the prior 3 god tier albums and that album isnt that bad, its hit-and-miss but its still a good album, not worthy of fans quitting his music forever because of it. This was the first moment of Em being underrated. As time went on with with little music coming out, Em was forgotten more and left more underrated. When Relapse came around, it didnt get its flowers for SO LONG. I'll argue that Relapse is the album that has the most skill in Em's whole career solely off of songs like Stay Wide Awake and Same Song And Dance. That album is so hated for the accents, but the accents work and help him rhyme more words in amazing ways, its genuinely insane. Recovery is Em's first comeback, also imo his first album without skips at all, its not so hip-hop but it got its deserved flowers and Em wasnt as underrated. MMLP2 came around and i heal almost NOBODY talk about it. Its very forgotten even though that album is a goldmine of wordplay and flows. Revival comes around, everyone clowns Em. its not even a bad album, people arent used the the strange choices of beats (though Untouchable and Remind Me are horrible). Framed is a perfect example of this, impeccable storytelling between all 3 personas and acts as a sequel to 3 am. Kamikaze come around and Shady is pissed. Everyone loves this (Nice Guy is definitely his worst song ever though, nobody ever likes it) because it brings back something we all missed from Shady. This is the only tike he's wellrated ever imo. MTBMB Side A and B are full of fun songs to listen to, side A being more casual and side B being more technical but more risky. Still underrated because the songs on here are very fun to just listen to, and a lot of people expect him to always be technically flawless so they hate these albums and thats why hes underrated here. DOSS gets everyone's hopes up and holds our interest with the trailer and the Houdini track/music video, but there are some sleepers like Antichrist, Tobey, the Shady remix of Fuel, Kyrie and Luka, and even Habits, another peak but this era still doesnt get all the praise despite Em's longevity and creative ways to build a story THATS REVERSIBLE, that genuinely takes so much talent... correct me on anything if im wrong just my opinion that im passionate about for the 3 people that read this
here's my hot take. 1. relapse + refil is eminems greatest album my reasoning for this is 1. i am a huge fan of eminems accents 2. dr dre being my favorite producer/mixer and having a album where every song except beautiful was produced by him (btw beautiful not being produced by dre does NOT hurt how much i love that song) is amazing, songs like 3 a.m, my mom, bagpipes from bagdad, we made you, medicine ball, stay wide awake, FUCKING OLD TIMES SAKE????????, deja vu, crack a bottle, elevator, music box, (holy shit i just named the whole ass album lol) all have beats i mutter to myself CONSTAINTLY. 3. as a fan of horror games and movies i adore the murder aspect of the album, and when it starts to kinda die down by old times sake, im fine with that, because it opens a door to one of the greatest yet secret storys in rap HISTORY (fr i dont even think you know about this. it all starts with track 14, must be the ganja, one of the few songs i have any problem with, the rapping and song is great but i just feel like the beat is very bland and not fun at all (to give you some perspective on this, a channel made a video called "must be the ganja but the beat is ridaz, and the songs is 10 TIMES better with a differant beat) anyways the song, while playful, is also serious and is about marshals addiction, when it wasnt at its worst, then it transitions to mr mathers, a skit about eminems overdose taking the perspective of the medic who found him at the time, trasitioning to possibly the greatest song about addiction EVER, deja vu. if must be the ganja was eminems addiction at its best, than deja vu is when it was at its WORST. the song discribes his mindset from the days up until his o.d and giving us a glamps of why eminem was so depressed at the time, a topic he would go into much more detail about in the next song, beautiful a song where he goes deep into his thought process between 2006-2008, even though eminem was a, in walter whites words a ("drug addict) between idfk - 2002, things really kicked up when (okay theres a lot to unpack here so the short version of this is, eminem was working on 8 mile and had really bad working hours, so he started taking a really addictive and at the time legal, sleep medication, along with things like nyquil another sleep medication which is a drink btw if you didnt know and valium) things really started getting bad when 1. he divorced his wife over a unknown argument about em's brother nate and 2. his best friend proof died. ANYWAY, after beautiful we get a flashback to eminems consciousness during the time of his o.d induced coma in the form of the song, crack a bottle, the term crack a bottle, and let your body waddle, could be talking about his alcohol addiction and his collapse onto the bathroom floor aka his overdose, the randomness of the music video also contributes to the idea that its all in his head, and the water droplets you hear falling to the ground, are actually the songs of the fluid in his i.v bag dripping. (i bet you didnt know that did ya?) anyways uh thats all i really gotta say other than this the only songs i dont enjoy that much on this album is 1. must be the ganja (i already explained why) and 2. my darling, and the only reason i dislike my darling is because the second and third verses are great, but the first one TANKS, ITS HORRIBLE, the worst verse on the album that is my statement, rushon out.
my hot take, 1. Encore wasn’t that bad most song in there i actually love like Encore/curtains down (one of my fav songs), ass like that (idgaf it’s good), big weenie (again i love this one) and mockingbird (cmon what did you no expect it) 2. The death of slim shady, in my opinion is eminem’s best album idgaf what you say i love ALMOST every song in this album i love (which isn’t normal for me) 3. Music to be murdered by, is actually really good both of the ones are amazing every song ive listened to on those so far are amazing, alfred theme, zeus, books of rhymes, leaving heaven, those kinda nights and godzilla are all amazing. 4. The song venom is amazing maybe a bit bias but i am BIG venom fan so i love this song (yes ik the song last one standing its good but as good as venom) 5. You should do a video on Eminem’s leaked tracks (specifically from the king mathers era) examples of these leaked songs are - the apple - g.o.a.t - ballin uncontrollably (I think) - careful what you wish for (original version, it is way more raw with the vocals) - it’s been real - difficult

I got 2 hot takes 1. Encore was Eminem’s last album that actually has personality. I feel like everything after that was the beginning of the robotic Eminem and not really having relatable rap. 2. The MMLP-ENCORE was the classic 3, sslp is not as good as people hype it up to be. Encores Highs are way better than SSLP’s highs imo, and even though encore has that middle area where it sucked, I’d rank encore above sslp
relapse has beautiful but yeah after encore era he started to chill out on being relatable with his rap, which is one of the reasons he got popular and is just a major thing for me at least

Tbh I feel like it’s more so relapse that was the last Eminem album that had personality. He seemed to really enjoy making the album, and it is also probably his most experimental album. After that I feel like he got a little too safe with recovery, and he was afraid of experimenting.
My biggest hot take is that most of the songs that are considered bad from em aren't, these are the hated ones I don't hate: My 1st single, W.T.P., big weenie, ass like that, evil deeds, tone deaf, rain man, just lose it, we made you, offended's chorus, walk on water, antichrist (not that hated but still), kim, amityville, puke, FACK, greatest, venom, little engine and so much better

2:10 I think it’s multiple things. 1. Multiple super popular artists at the time as features and just about no other like actual rappers and also the samples which I honestly didn’t care much for 2. It was also an album that talked about a good chunk of serious topics which in the case of untouchable he did not handle well, I agree with Joe Budden’s take on untouchable, he basically made fun of the topic which on paper seems like smth shady would do but again, this was meant to be an actual serious album.

The choppy flows are the worst thing that happened to him. From the cringe bars, to the weird deliveries over the years, he only recently kinda locked in. Loved it on MurderGram with LL, Lucifer, and Evil, and Tobey but that’s it. The past 15 years of his catalog have been awful besides the newer stuff. Btw, Music to be Murdered by doesn’t touch the top 5. Slim Shady LP is my favorite outta the first three. That means OBJECTIVELY it’s the second best outta the first three, behind MMLP (yes it’s not Eminem Show). 97-99 was easily best era with his best flows/bars. He made most of the beats WHILST LEARNING HOW TO PRODUCE with the Bass Brothers. I love all the tracks, B-side tracks like As the World Turns. and My Fault. Shits just amazing all around. The album is like Saturday morning cartoons. Relapse is the second worst thing to happen to him. The accents are cringe and the wordplay doesn’t justify that, or the bars. The doubling down justification of the drug fueled accents and goofy bars from Encore whilst sober and re-learning how to rap apparently. Also, Infinite dunks on Relapse. Slim Shady era is his best era. The songs and flows are better and hit HARD. As I said earlier, 97-99 is easily his best era. With the Masta Ace flow being remixed into his own thing, with the dopest and most gruesome bars in all of hip-hop. And I LOVE the Slim Shady EP. Murder Murder is amazing, and the first version of Just Don’t Give a Fuck is underrated. Pretty sure it’s a Kon Artist beat too :3 Eminem’s singing is beautiful on Beautiful, and is Ok on Stronger than I Was. But is pretty bad anywhere else, lol Going back to Music to be Murdered by, I like some of the songs. Like Yah Yah, Darkness, and Monster. But it’s choppy flow with cringe delivery and bars riddled all over it.
Yeah mtbmb is one of my 2 favorite em albums, the other being the Eminem show (both I think are better than the mmlp) and with that said yeah mtbmb is very overrated, side a on its own was great and side b was just just wow.
For me, MTBMB is a bottom 4 album and nowhere near as good as Kamikaze. There are some very high points in the album, but I dislike most of the features, which there is way too many of.

here's my hot take.
1. relapse + refil is eminems greatest album
my reasoning for this is 1. i am a huge fan of eminems accents 2. dr dre being my favorite producer/mixer and having a album where every song except beautiful was produced by him (btw beautiful not being produced by dre does NOT hurt how much i love that song) is amazing, songs like 3 a.m, my mom, bagpipes from bagdad, we made you, medicine ball, stay wide awake, FUCKING OLD TIMES SAKE????????, deja vu, crack a bottle, elevator, music box, (holy shit i just named the whole ass album lol) all have beats i mutter to myself CONSTAINTLY. 3. as a fan of horror games and movies i adore the murder aspect of the album, and when it starts to kinda die down by old times sake, im fine with that, because it opens a door to one of the greatest yet secret storys in rap HISTORY (fr i dont even think you know about this. it all starts with track 14, must be the ganja, one of the few songs i have any problem with, the rapping and song is great but i just feel like the beat is very bland and not fun at all (to give you some perspective on this, a channel made a video called "must be the ganja but the beat is ridaz, and the songs is 10 TIMES better with a differant beat) anyways the song, while playful, is also serious and is about marshals addiction, when it wasnt at its worst, then it transitions to mr mathers, a skit about eminems overdose taking the perspective of the medic who found him at the time, trasitioning to possibly the greatest song about addiction EVER, deja vu. if must be the ganja was eminems addiction at its best, than deja vu is when it was at its WORST. the song discribes his mindset from the days up until his o.d and giving us a glamps of why eminem was so depressed at the time, a topic he would go into much more detail about in the next song, beautiful a song where he goes deep into his thought process between 2006-2008, even though eminem was a, in walter whites words a ("drug addict) between idfk - 2002, things really kicked up when (okay theres a lot to unpack here so the short version of this is, eminem was working on 8 mile and had really bad working hours, so he started taking a really addictive and at the time legal, sleep medication, along with things like nyquil another sleep medication which is a drink btw if you didnt know and valium) things really started getting bad when 1. he divorced his wife over a unknown argument about em's brother nate and 2. his best friend proof died.
ANYWAY, after beautiful we get a flashback to eminems consciousness during the time of his o.d induced coma in the form of the song, crack a bottle, the term crack a bottle, and let your body waddle, could be talking about his alcohol addiction and his collapse onto the bathroom floor aka his overdose, the randomness of the music video also contributes to the idea that its all in his head, and the water droplets you hear falling to the ground, are actually the songs of the fluid in his i.v bag dripping. (i bet you didnt know that did ya?) anyways uh thats all i really gotta say other than this
the only songs i dont enjoy that much on this album is 1. must be the ganja (i already explained why) and 2. my darling, and the only reason i dislike my darling is because the second and third verses are great, but the first one TANKS, ITS HORRIBLE, the worst verse on the album

1. Encore wasn’t that bad most song in there i actually love like Encore/curtains down (one of my fav songs), ass like that (idgaf it’s good), big weenie (again i love this one) and mockingbird (cmon what did you no expect it)
2. The death of slim shady, in my opinion is eminem’s best album idgaf what you say i love ALMOST every song in this album i love (which isn’t normal for me)
3. Music to be murdered by, is actually really good both of the ones are amazing every song ive listened to on those so far are amazing, alfred theme, zeus, books of rhymes, leaving heaven, those kinda nights and godzilla are all amazing.
4. The song venom is amazing maybe a bit bias but i am BIG venom fan so i love this song (yes ik the song last one standing its good but as good as venom)
5. Most of Eminem’s inappropriate songs aren’t that bad

I got 2 hot takes
1. Encore was Eminem’s last album that actually has personality. I feel like everything after that was the beginning of the robotic Eminem and not really having relatable rap.
2. The MMLP-ENCORE was the classic 3, sslp is not as good as people hype it up to be. Encores Highs are way better than SSLP’s highs imo, and even though encore has that middle area where it sucked, I’d rank encore above sslp

Tbh I feel like it’s more so relapse that was the last Eminem album that had personality. He seemed to really enjoy making the album, and it is also probably his most experimental album. After that I feel like he got a little too safe with recovery, and he was afraid of experimenting.
My biggest hot take is that most of the songs that are considered bad from em aren't, these are the hated ones I don't hate: My 1st single, W.T.P., big weenie, ass like that, evil deeds, tone deaf, rain man, just lose it, we made you, offended's chorus, walk on water, antichrist (not that hated but still), kim, amityville, puke, FACK, greatest, venom, little engine and so much better

It was also an album that talked about a good chunk of serious topics which in the case of untouchable he did not handle well, I agree with Joe Budden’s take on untouchable, he basically made fun of the topic which on paper seems like smth shady would do but again, this was meant to be an actual serious album.
That makes sense. I can understand how it may not be everyone's cup of tea but saying it's BAD and rating it like a 2 or even 0 out of 10 is absurd.

With all of this it’s insane to not call it his greatest album. Even if you excluded the unreleased or reused ones they still CAME from Relapse. I respect that. I'm glad you love the album that much. I do love the album but that's a whole other level. It is a great album. I cannot deny that. I just can't say it's his best.

3.infinite is top 5. The album gets a lot of hate because either nobody has listened to it fully or because it’s forgettable but for me it’s very great 8/10
4. Music to be murdered by side b is better than side a: for me side b flows better and is more memorable. I don’t think side a is bad at all I just prefer side b
5. Slim shady lp is his best album: idk if this is a hot take or not but I’ve seen people say Marshall Mather’s lp, the Eminem show and relapse are his best but for me slim shady lp is his best work

The choppy flows are the worst thing that happened to him. From the cringe bars, to the weird deliveries over the years, he only recently kinda locked in. Loved it on MurderGram with LL, Lucifer, and Evil, and Tobey but that’s it. The past 15 years of his catalog have been awful besides the newer stuff. Btw, Music to be Murdered by doesn’t touch the top 5.
Slim Shady LP is my favorite outta the first three. That means OBJECTIVELY it’s the second best outta the first three, behind MMLP (yes it’s not Eminem Show). 97-99 was easily best era with his best flows/bars. He made most of the beats WHILST LEARNING HOW TO PRODUCE with the Bass Brothers. I love all the tracks, B-side tracks like As the World Turns. and My Fault. Shits just amazing all around. The album is like Saturday morning cartoons.
Relapse is the second worst thing to happen to him. The accents are cringe and the wordplay doesn’t justify that, or the bars. The doubling down justification of the drug fueled accents and goofy bars from Encore whilst sober and re-learning how to rap apparently. Also, Infinite dunks on Relapse.
Slim Shady era is his best era. The songs and flows are better and hit HARD. As I said earlier, 97-99 is easily his best era. With the Masta Ace flow being remixed into his own thing, with the dopest and most gruesome bars in all of hip-hop. And I LOVE the Slim Shady EP. Murder Murder is amazing, and the first version of Just Don’t Give a Fuck is underrated. Pretty sure it’s a Kon Artist beat too :3
Eminem’s singing is beautiful on Beautiful, and is Ok on Stronger than I Was. But is pretty bad anywhere else, lol
Going back to Music to be Murdered by, I like some of the songs. Like Yah Yah, Darkness, and Monster. But it’s choppy flow with cringe delivery and bars riddled all over it.

Yeah mtbmb is one of my 2 favorite em albums, the other being the Eminem show (both I think are better than the mmlp) and with that said yeah mtbmb is very overrated, side a on its own was great and side b was just just wow.

For me, MTBMB is a bottom 4 album and nowhere near as good as Kamikaze. There are some very high points in the album, but I dislike most of the features, which there is way too many of.
That’s one thing I can agree on. Too many features. I’m not fond of most either.
