To be fair, Noah just learned all this in his high school history class like last week
Hey! Us 1997 kids have been graduated from HS for 8 years now lol ;)
true lol thats one of the reasons he's retained a lot.also i dont think he went to college but others have
Do u find it crazy kids who gratuated in your birthyear will have been grads for 20 years in 3 year? 😮@kathleenmansure7416
@@sjsjsIIIIIIIIIIndndnjdhdhx I pray you're joking. she graduated 8 years ago, or in 2015, she was born in 1997...in 3 years they'll have been graduated for 11 years
@falloutjunkie9199 you a retard or something? I said kids who graduated from your birthyear. That means kids in 1997. You fucking dunse. I pray you learn to read and shut the fuck up dumbass. Try and correct me on some shit you aint even understand. Gtfo here dummy.
This one’s gonna hurt me right in the U.S history degree 💀
Plz update if it did (I’m also about to watch)
a U.S history degree exists?
As a fellow American History degree holder, this also hurt me quite a bit 😂😭
Dead white guy degree xD
Still doesn’t hurt as much as trying to find a decent paying job with one though
The pet question is one of my favorites because two of them have such fun stories. Andrew Jackson’s parrot famously knew how to swear and had to be removed from his funeral for swearing. The alligator was given to Adams by the Marquis de Lafayette and Adams liked to bring it to meetings for intimidation.
Yes! I was gonna make the comment about the swearing parrot - it's hilarious! Adam's kept the alligator in a BATHTUB in the east room!
I reccomend searching the Presidential Pet Museum website if you want more stories llike that
we love lafayatte
6:10 fun fact: (according to the starkid wiki) angela was actually in a production of assassins as squeaky fromme
I love that Coolidge was so bored that he pulled pranks on his bodyguards😂
Honestly, icon.
LBJ would drive into the lake at Camp David without his passengers knowing it was an amphibious car. He would also conduct meetings while on the toilet and called his penis Jumbo.
Legend has it a reporter came up to President Coolidge and told him, "I bet a colleague I could get more than two words out of you."
President Coolidge responded, "You Lose".
Interesting story, a reporter had a bet that he couldn't get more than two words out of Cal. He told the story to him and he replied with "You lose"
The most Coolidge thing ever to be honest.😂
Shayne has been preparing for this by growing out his facial hair to look like Lin-Manuel Miranda
I actually think he looks like Chris Evan's stunt double with the mustache XD

Arasha is correct. New York, New York WAS a U.S. federal capitol. Federal Hall was the site of President Washington’s inauguration. Per Wikipedia, “The 1st Congress met at Federal Hall in New York.[2] In 1790, it passed the Residence Act, which established the national capital at a site along the Potomac River that would become Washington, D.C.[3] For the next ten years, Philadelphia served as the temporary capital.[4]” 3:30

Gotta be proud of Tommy.
He went from "I Can only think of Henry Winkler" to getting triple digits in an American-themed Beopardy.

Hawaii had been recognized by many many countries at the height of its kingdom, even the US a few times. It still pisses me off knowing that our kingdom was taken away from us through an overthrow of our queen and passed an illegal annexation.
As part of the Austrenesian family, I would like to apologize for not being able to help your people back then.
As an American, I would like to personally apologize for taking your archipelago
@@the711devin4 silly.
Fun fact, Hawaii and Alaska were ratified the same year, so flags with 49 stars on them are specifically from that time period. I only know this because my dad was born in that time frame and my uncle gave him a 49 star flag one Christmas as tribute to it.
Yes. Me, a foreigner, trying to guess this history.
@Brend Kouijzer And how did you do? I’m American, and I struggled with some of these!
Same here! Sometimes I think I wish to be part of Smosh cast, then I see these videos and think: “I could never” 😂😂😂
yup I'm an Aussie without a clue just happy to be here
I did better than I expected, but I'm Canadian and laughing at Americans is a national pastime of ours.
I love some Beopardy. Arasha is quickly becoming one of my favorite cast members.

Noah is surprising me with how many he has gotten right lol, thought for sure Ian would get more.
And yet couldn't remember if Maryland was a state or not 😂
@@gilly_axolotl Yeah, he knew so much and then he said that and I was wondering if he was joking or not.. guess he wasn't 😅 Oh Noah... 🤣

Shane's sudden shift at 16:50 to "Angry Dad" at Tommy made me almost spit up my drink. I had flashbacks to my own dad and I could feel his pain 😅
“Why didn’t you get any of these? Why don’t you know these Tommy?” That shit was hilarious
"Can we have a cherries and milk party and see who dies...?" 🤣🤣 Only Ian, the president of his own company, could sell that joke.

New York City was the capitol of the US from 1789-1790 following the ratification of the United States Constitution. It was only switched after the passing of the Residence act which made made Washington DC the permanent capitol. Many other places had been the capitol of the country prior to NYC, but those all occurred under the Articles of Confederation or earlier.
Arasha and Ian are my favorite duo lately.

@Penny Chai I was so stokes. They are just so calm around each other and listen for each other to finish speaking. It's always such a relaxed video (Unless arasha is playing a game of LIES🤣)
arasha and ian's chemistry is too good!
Petition for Ian and Arasha to have a review series together (restaurants, books, games, Amazon products, anything) I just think they'd be a hilarious riot together
One of my favorite things about Smosh is how supportive and encouraging they are of each other even when they're competing.
was just admiring arasha’s infectious smile, when suddenly she insulted opossums and i realized why she & i will only ever be friends.
I’m a 40yo woman, and my brain still said Idaho in response to the state named after the queen’s love life being asked 🤦🏻♀️

Ian, saving the channel with the Opossum clarification. "Um, actually..."
Also, I like Arasha's face when she knows she has a banger while delivering "William Samuel Johnson!?"
The way that Tommy wrote the same name for two of the final beopardy numbers and still ended up killing it

I love beopardy! Such a great cast. Congratulations Noah!! You all were great :)
Opposums are one of the few mammals which cannot get rabies and they eat tons of ticks. They’re great!
I was coming here to say this! They are some of the cleanest wild animals, not dangerous and won't settle in anywhere unless it's a mama nesting for her babies. At least that's what I've heard
Also, the 'O' at the start of "opossums" is silent
@@stevepitt1414 It isn't lol People just say possum anyway.

Hello from Montreal, Canada 👋🇨🇦
@@stevepitt1414 You pronounce it like "ah-possum" but like, heavy verbal emphasis on the possum part. It sounds silent if your accent drops off that part, or if you're ignorant (sorry) and don't know possums are a different animal
New York City was the first capital of the US after the constitution was ratified until 1790. George Washington was sworn is as president at the old city hall.
I thought I was crazy haha I could have sworn it was at some point
Exactly, Philly was the capital during the revolution
YES! Someone else caught it! Philly was the capital but that was before the constitution and total independence, following the war NYC became the capital and then they got the land for DC really cheap (because it was a swamp and no one wanted it) and a deal was made to get the Treasury department for a more southern capital
the United States has had nine official capitals... philly was the first (during the continental congress) and was actually the us capital multiple different time. NYC was also rhe capital from 1785 until 1790
@@TheEwuplanner but NYC was the first official capital after the constitution was created. It’s where George Washington took his inauguration. So it is the first capital of the United States as we know it today.
It’s nice to see Noah and Ian blossom in their category. 💕
They should have Ian do another downer episode. That was fun 😂
the “assassins” question legit makes me so happy that is such an underrated musical!
I'd love to see them do a do they know World History or a Beopardy based on another countries Citizenship test like the UKs etc.
yes pleeeease going by this video it might a trainwreck but thats fun to watch :D
The answers to the assassins question killed my soul. May your memory be a blessing Stephen Sondheim.
3:20 arasha was ROBBED‼️ New York WAS the capital before dc. it was nyc, philly, then dc. so philly is right but so is ny
Love Shane’s leg posture. Man truly can’t hide the sassy legs.
Shayne's pronunciation of double O's confounds me every time.

I'm so proud of Ian and, especially, Noah for this episode. Noah deserves it. This is Noah's game.
15:43 i’ll always love ian’s little jumps when he rings the button 💕

Arasha has fit so well into the cast!
You love to see it.
18:22 the way Shayne looks at Noah is fucknig funny
Arasha is a gem, definitely need more of her lol
Everyone did so well. I did not expect Noah to win. Great job!
Future Beopardy topic- Voice Acting/Actors.
Still waiting for What’re Those?! to return.
I second that Beopardy topic
You should do an English one for Arasha. Categories could be: "In the end, it really does matter" for punctuation, "look at this" for famous literature quotes (or books made into movies), "Do you know who" for literary devices, "What was that" grammar mistakes, and "freestyling" as a poetry & music category.
I could watch a whole video of Shayne just reading questions. Something like "questions without answers (yet)" or "world's biggest mysteries"
Now we NEED to see a Beopardy about history of the world - It will be brutal lol
Maybe let's go country by country, or region by region.
Great episode today! Everyone's calling out the cast, who did great (Arasha in particular has been rocking it lately!), but an extra callout to Kimmy as director & AP!
So happy they did this as someone who has a history major. I would say I did pretty good but I def didn’t remember all these q’s (mostly the musicals and some quotes). Was fun to yell the right answer quickly at the screen before them too. More like this 😂
3:00 Shane with the clone high jfk impression 😂😂
"Is there a state called Maryland?"
The episode hit peak 'American' at that moment.
I thought it was the moment Arasha said Wyoming was the state named for Queen Elizabeth the 1st' love life
@@stevenseelig945 It was a contender for sure. But I think 'Not knowing something basic' beats 'Absurd guessing' when it comes to being peak american.

Assassins is my favorite musical! It’s both exciting to see it mentioned and disappointing to see no one recognize it 😂
Also disappointing that at least 2 of them would think John Hinkley Jr and Squeaky Fromme would be in a show about Abraham Lincoln. 😆
As soon as Shane did that arch at 17:04 I thought they were gonna bust out the Dr. Livesey music for him to do the walk
1) this was such a great episode i love this cast 2) yall should do a beopardy episode on Latinamerica
I'd honestly love to see one of these with 'classic' media, stuff like famous old films or books
I felt like an idiot and then Arasha said Texas education and I felt good. I remember more Texas history than I do American. Which is very sad.
Binging the Beopardy, such a fun series to watch 😂 got to learn stuff too
love the cast and all the videos
It wasn't the loss of the Tea, it was more about the policy supporting it. Britian basically imposed taxes and restricted commerce "You can only buy tea from this company and a tax is included". Hence why free commerce is such a part of our history and why medical care in the US is so screwed.
Wasn’t even their tea, it belonged to the Dutch East India Company. Just in case any ever tells you destruction of private property isn’t protesting.
"It’s not about the money, it’s about sending a message"
Also they just totally didn’t get how inflation worked with that question 😂 like, if it’s worth a lot now then it was worth a lot then even if the number is smaller
@@Matt-xc6sp forcing people to do boycotts with a threat of property destruction is why we are a country
Indeed! I cracked up when they mentioned something about inflation. But if I might add, it was also a clear show of defiance and resistance towards the oppressive and tyrannical rule of the British towards the colonies at the time. If we go way back to post 1763, after the Seven Years war (in which Britain emerged victorious against France) the Crown had incurred a massive debt - war is an expansive business even when you win.
So, to mitigate the adverse effects of this debt, Britain decided that the North American colonies would share the burden of clearing this debt. This ultimately led to the implementation of various taxation policies that lacked American representation some of which included the Sugar Act of 1764, the Stamp Act of 1765, the Declaratory Act of 1766, the Townshends Act of 1767 and many others. This then led to colonists developing an aggravated and sour distaste of British policies and resulted in events such as the Boston Massacre of 1770 and the Boston Tea Party of 1773.
I love the use of Sousa’s Liberty Bell March- which is a 100% American piece-in the background but my brain still said “Why Monty Python music??” 😅
3:56 is someone gonna tell them that New York was actually the first capital of the United States. Then Philly and then Washington DC.
there should be a Smosh themed episode of Bepordy where they ask questions about the compony, cast + crew, videos, etc.

So the US Congress first convened under the Constitution in New York City and Washington was sworn in as president there. Then they moved to Philadelphia while stuff in DC was being built. I knew NYC wasn't an official capital but remembered learning something like this so I had to look it up.
Noah was impressive this episode! And loved the facial hair question!
