    So much effort to being a CON -seems to me that HONesty is easier, and way more profitable . . .

    • @birchcakes
      @birchcakes 6 лет назад +2

      John Quill Taylor ln the long term you are correct, however, in the short term being dishonest is often more advantageous. That’s why people do it in the first place. But eventually it catches up to you and is not worth it. That’s why sociopaths move around a lot: The lies catch up with them.

    • @swine13
      @swine13 4 года назад +1

      Bollocks. Honesty and hard work have gotten me nowhere. Looking back, I could have learned how to do this kinda stuff 10 years ago and I'd have been wildly more profitable (if a little less legitimate)... either way, im a living example that "doing the right thing" doesn't pay. There's no money in honesty.
      "Honesty is the best policy" is an insanely misleading quip, in some circumstances. I would say in the context of individual relationships, definitely honesty is very important. Even then, on average couples tell each other around 10 little white lies _a day_ - people dont realise how common it is to tell little half or un-truths just for the sake of keeping peace.
      Being completely honest on your CV and in job interviews hurts your prospects against those applicants who got away with a few lies. Being honest in court... i dont need to explain why that might backfire. Being honest to young children can sometimes be a bit of a controversial decision. Do you tell them the truth, presumably teaching them of things too heavy for someone of their age to worry about? Or do you lie in order to maintain a sense of wonder and happiness in your child? Would you deny them happy thoughts purely because honesty is #1?
      And finally, look at the top 500 richest people in the world. How many of those CEOs and giant hedge-fund managers do you reckon are known most for their honesty and integrity? Or are they more likely to be known for being ruthless, selfish and callous?

      This world is packed full of very dishonest, weathly scumbags. Don't ever think that a majority of super successful people didn't absolutely step on, and squash, perfectly innocent people who were in their way.
      I'm not saying honest, successful people don't exist. Just dont delude yourself into thinking being a human peice of garbage isn't profitable.
