Wow, great explanation in regards to the long tip benefits, holding more heat / consistent temp. I was always wanting a shorter tip for more control when soldering and never really thought the drawbacks. Feel smarter today, woot woot!!! Thank you AK!!!!😃
Sequre always come out with new models with new useful features. They keep improving their products. I have a Sequre model and it is doing great soldering despite being portable. This new double tip option is really cool. Thanks for sharing.
I like the looks, portability, and the quality/power appears to be pretty solid as well. It’s quite impressive in comparison to my bench soldering station… looks like I need an updated station and this option is very appealing so I’m happy to have come across this review! Thank you… I know you could’ve gone into a much more in depth video, but this is a “tool” that is used quite often in this hobby… which is one of the reasons why I enjoy your content, no frivolous explanation or ongoing dictation of a tool or product that isn’t really necessary. Straight to the “meat and potatoes” and an honest opinion to follow, which makes a decision for the viewer to decide, just that much easier and direct. Thanks again, keep up the great work and look forward to wherever your next adventure takes us.
Nice little iron! Perfect for quick jobs in the field or at home....they seem to be getting better every new release from Sequre! Great job thx for the show n tell
When I was deciding on my next soldering iron. It was the Sequre SQ-001, Ts100, TS80, and the PINE64. I ultimately decided on the PINE64 The feature set to cost ratio was appealing. The only problem is the flashing the new firmware, (won't take). There are no instruction whatsoever in the box. On the plus side, it takes the same tips as both the Sequre and TS100. It can be powered by a USB-C (PD) or a 5525 barrel plug. They can all do that (use USB-C) now, but I didn't realize what a great feature it was till I started using it. I think the Sequre and TS_100 and TS80 are better soldering irons. If anyone is looking for a soldering iron, I'd go with the Sequre or the TS100. Keep in mind they are twice the price than the PINE64. It goes to show, you get what you pay for. A great review Albert. I do like this soldering irons screen. It is quite nice, easy to read and the bold temperature display stands out more than it's predecessor. I do appreciate the time you put into making these videos. They really do help the community make "informed decisions." I do like the portability and the ease of use/manipulation of these portable soldering irons. This one looks interesting, translucent casing is a nice change from the all normal all black.
I have one of their early ones that I use ts100 tips on. I love their irons. I find it interesting that they have adopted longer tips and then sunk them into the handle deeper. Thermal mass is a good thing.
Great review. As a traveling tech, I've been wanting to upgrade to one of these for some time now and this seems like a fair price. My fear is leaving LiPo batteries in my vehicle in the summer time in the South East and the consequences that may come with that. Currently I use a butane powered one and I hate it 😕
Great review of a useful tool. Sequre has some very good products. I like that it can use both long and short style elements. I have several short style for my ts100, if it ever dies I know I have viable options besides another ts100. Happy building everyone. 🤓
I paid $50 for my TS100 way back in 2019, with some Banggood coupon, and it doesn't even do USB-C... So these portable irons are one of the few things the chip shortage hasn't made twice as expensive 😁
One question ive had with these style of soldering irons is where is the thermistor located? How acurate is the actual tip temp vs what the Iron says? The tips only have the 2 connections for the element right? How does the Iron know that temperature, especially on the longer tips?
@@Adam_Carbone I understand that. But the actual tips no matter long or short don't have any way to tell the main board the temp if the thermistor is in the tip. The only connection to the board are the positive and negative terminals for the coil within the tips.
The temperature is set based on the amount of current flow and a known calibration value for the tips based on the resistance in the core. The reading is not a measurement of the temperature in the tip but the temperature it should be based on their calibration settings.
@@Adam_Carbone you know, it's always good practice to compile a fresh kernel on your soldering iron at least twice a month. never be too careful with those 0-day exploits
I'm not sure the primary method for gaining access to a persons computer or their personal data is through firmware updates via a soldering iron. (anything is possible) I do believe it is open source, but I suspect its not a huge issue.
Nice soldering iron, pretty neat that it's compatible with the widely available t12 tip, might get this one just because of that! Nice video as always and keep up the great work!!! 💪
I've just bought the same soldering iron yes it looks great it does work really well. unable to update to the latest SI012 Firmware Upgrade Version: v2.21 . Windows 7 or windows 10 will not see as a flash drive so you cant put the hex file on for to up date. Please try yourselves and see if it works.

@@AlbertKimTV it would be nice if you can show a video of you doing that. Updating the drivers Windows 7 and Windows 10 because it doesn't seem to work for me. The problem is the company does not specify correctly which version and which batch of soldering iron can be updated. And that is also to customise the logo.

I love the aesthetics of this. And coming from bench irons I really like the ability to power it from USB or XT60!

Great portable soldering iron for FPV people !!
😎
I love my order Secure SQ100. Portable irons are helpful and the xt60 cable is very nice.
looks super great, the transparent shell is super nostalgic :D
seems there are alot of these portable irons out now a days i have the pine 64 and im very happy with it thanks for sharing Albert
Was looking for a portable soldering iron and this might just be what I want. Looks awesome that transparent shell
I like the clear case. I need to get a second portable iron just to keep in my flight bag.
I use the Sequire s001 the first one they came out with and I love it.👍

I guess RalimTS will still work?
I didn't test alternative firmware. You should ask Sequre directly about that.
