    There are only a small handful youtubers in would enjoy to drink at a night out.
    And having a cold one with the last samurai would be the most interesting of them all.

    The Heian superstitions are so interesting to learn about. From a modern point of view the past is so important great post as usual. Next time in Kyoto i will visit here. The books were a bit boring but I want to see this place.

    Its amazing how colorful people used to be, it seems all cultures share that aspect, and the clothing itself has also changed from a beautiful to a practical style, its such a shame we do not wear such clothes anymore.
    I would have been in trouble in Heian period! I love women with long hair! 😂😂

      Right. Even before the WW2, kimono was much more colorful actually.

    I once saw a lecture by a visiting scholar from Japan; his research was about Heian women's clothes and he was working on reproducing the different outfits. He said that all the robes together that a woman wore weighed nearly 23kg!

      That is called Junihitoe which means 12 layers kimono. The graduation of the layers are beautiful. As you can see it in this video.
