This critique is amazing! Reminds me of my children’s book class, think about double page spreads , book dummies and think about where things fall in the middle of the pages. Thank you for this
I know Georgie may not translate in the typical sense for a children's story. But it spoke to me quite personally, as someone who grew up in the military and went to 9 schools k-12 all over the country. It made perfect sense to me. This comment is probably irrelevant as it's a personal connection but just saying that not everything needs a super clear beginning middle and end! You never know who will connect to a story that seemingly doesn't make sense. It certainly connected with me.
That's wonderful! I think the broad range & variety of children's book illustration is fascinating, because it shows how even at such young ages, children have their own very specific tastes! - Mia, Art Prof Staff

My top takeaway was: it's okay to be versatile, but to just show it in an organized way. Thank you for sharing

I love that it's vague. I could make up the details. And I'm sure kids would with their limitless imagination.
Great critique! I would like to see an update critique with Yuko’s artwork/portfolio.
Great suggestion! Thank you so much for watching :) - Mia Rozear, Art Prof Staff
