Oh the subscription segment is so real! It really annoys me when stuff gets removed from streaming services (or even a pay-to-own digital service like GoogleTV) and content keeps getting removed. I love the convenience of streaming but god I wish they'd stop taking things away.
I've now had to go back to buying DVDs and Blu-Rays for films and TV series no longer available anywhere to stream.

I have nothing important to add other than Faves has become my favourite series on the channel. More than the parodies or anything else, even. I look forward to it every month. I'm still not over the time Olympia listed "having a sit" as one of her faves because I totally get it. That moment when you see that bench and you realize you've been walking for ages and all you want is a nice moment of sit. Even better if you have someone to fetch a sweet treat or iced coffee to maximally enjoy the sit. Or if there's a cafe or bakery proximal to the bench so you can go grab a treat THEN sit!
I just did my first full weekend convention since pre-covid, and sitting down at home with the cat was both painful, and such bliss.

Movie theatre etiquette has gone way down over the years. Interview with a Vampire comes out. The person I was seeing at the time calls the theatre for the latest seating/showing. There was not as many people as expected. Of course, a few rows down, there is a very large older woman.....with her 3 year old grandchild. The woman is screaming out at every little thing going on in the movie...the kid running up and down the aisle being completely disruptive.
I LIVE for when Nova talks about kpop! I also really enjoyed that doc. I'm a massive Monsta X fan so was interested to hear about Cravity (on the same label) and some of the shady comments from their managers had me gagged. Might as well have called them a flop on such a massive platform! Thanks for another super fun faves and shitters!

Nova, years ago I discovered the absolute joy of weekday matinees. Less people and sometimes a wee bit cheaper. That horse had me pissin' meself! LMAO.... And spot on about the subs! Preach! Olympia, does the UK have a national Do Not Call list like we do here in the States? Yes, it needs to be updated once in a while (election season... ugh) but it's simple! And I absolutely love the new eye treatment! mwah!

Don't answer the phone to cold callers. Often they've bought a bunch of numbers and don't know if they are real so answering tells them it is number people answer so it can increase it.
Also, answering them could mean they grab a snippet of your voice and then they can recreate your voice with AI and use it in scams 😔
I can agree with Nova and her shitter. Movie theaters have gone to crap. I recently took a trip to see Beetlejuice and a couple had brought a 6 month old! It cried as soon as the movie started and didn't stop.
Ended up making a complaint and got a free ticket to watch the movie in a different viewing so props to the theatre but boo the coupe who brought a baby to the cinema and didn't think it would ruin the other 100 people in the rooms experience
I’m with Nova on the theater crap. I stopped going years ago cause I can no longer stand people. We all paid money so why do some think it’s all about them in the theatres? Uhg!
I haven't been to the cinema since 2016 when I went to a daytime screening of 'The Witch'... Period English dialogue and an audience with an impoverished attention span. All I can say is, I've never come so close to force-feeding four teenagers into a single drinks holder.

In a way you're almost lucky with that lenor ad, because they've adapted it for international use by just dubbing over it. So instead of someone acting out a ridiculous line, we get to see an overacted bad translation of a ridiculous line stuck on footage that clearly doesn't match, spammed so much you almost see it in your sleep
I also really agree with Olympia on the upscaled footage. It's a complety inauthentic, does not do the actual media any justice and is frankly almost dishonest
The cold calling is driving me crazy. It makes me insane when a business I *DO* patronize calls 3 times in a row without leaving a voicemail. Like... leave a f-ing voicemail! Don't hang up and call me 3 times - I'm not going to answer the 2nd or 3rd time either and you're not that important.
Totally agree with the cinema, the last few times I remember has never gone perfect, people talking is constant, teenagers coming in and making noise just to leave half way through. Recently went watching the new Beetlejuice, and a woman didn't even wait for us to move our stuff or put the recliner chair down so she could get past and just kicked our stuff (even though she was on the other side and could have just gone around). I feel like they need a member of staff to just sit in and babysit because thats what some people need.
As someone who did work in a cinema they DO massively need people sitting in because often we don’t catch them
On the subject of adverts that drive me crazy. The Vueling advert has a line “Britain you love your beans on toast” at the beginning and up flashes a photo of a KIDNEY BEAN. It drives me insane that not one person picked up on this before it was released

Cannot agree more on the cinema etiquette. I’ve been pretty lucky with the area I live, crowds are generally good but I’ll never forget when I went to see the bike riders earlier this year and this woman was messaging someone for basically the whole thing, and even recorded bits and sent them to this person? Utterly baffled why she decided to fork out 15 quid to not watch a film?
Also I bet there was hardly anyone in the Bikeriders too

Totally agree with Nova about streaming and subscriptions. It's not even just telly, it's music - even cars - for modern high-end cars you have to subscribe to access features that are already programmed into the car which is ridiculous. I have gone back to buying CDs and DVDs (I am very old) because I am fed up of streaming. I miss the old days when you can just put on a DVD of your favourite film instead of trying to work out which streaming service has that film and realising you haven't subscribed to that one this month
As someone who worked in a cinema over the past 9 years it has gotten worse but the whole attitude generally.
We need to catch people in the act so often we can’t as people behave if they know they’ve been told on.
“Oh there’s nothing good out, it’s all IP trash” there are utterly amazing independent films out there but people would rather moan about that, moan about the prices and then leave their very very overpriced popcorn untouched for some teenager to clean but NO it’s the prices that are too expensive not then not being good with money

Omg I hate going to theatres because the slightest noises drive me insane! One time a guy was sitting next to me and he was eating his popcorn which wasn’t what annoyed me but he was petting and stroking his popcorn the whole time so all I could hear was popcorn ruffling. My aunt was eating chips while watching a movie at our house a few weeks ago and the chips weren’t in a bowl, just in the big bag, and every time she went to get a chip, it was SO loud and distracting but I seemed to be the only one bothered by the noise. 🙃
I don't get why people can't go 2 hours without eating! Sure it's traditional but it's too noisy and messy.

I’ve also experienced a massive uptick in spam calls recently. I suspect there’s been a data breach somewhere with my phone number in it.
Spam calls have got out of hand the last few months. There are so many that appear to be local numbers but are spam.
We so often have the worst time in big cinemas. I don't know what it is but people think they can be really poorly behaved as soon as the lights go down. If you go to family films it can be particularly awful with constant noise and movement. The worst time we had was one family with a kid constantly running up and down the stairs, she clearly wasn't of an age where she could sit still for so long and parents weren't interested in doing anything about it. Our little local cinemas tend to be better, maybe because they have so few seats.
Nova could have stopped her movie audience complaint at "I hate people." And it would still have been an accurate assessment of that situation 😂

Omg!! Not me and 'Lymp being spookily timed together on a fave! As soon as she started playing that music I knew it was The Railway Children!! I've just come back from a weekend away in West Yorkshire (partly because I wanted to see the Brontë Parsonage), but also squeezed in a quick trip on the train line as featured in said cinematic classic. So basically I ticked off seeing most of the places as seen in the film.
I kept saying "Daddy, my Daddy" all day long, at which point my other half hadn't seen the film (he has now, we watched it last night), so he kept thinking I was mental, despite me explaining!!

The new beetlejuice had me tempted but Nova has confirmed that it will most likely be an annoying venture. Wish the cinemas would sort it out, how hard is it to manage. 🤷♀️

I grew up spending a lot of time with my grandparents during the summer holidays, so older films like the Railway Children were the only things I had access to. I watched a lot of films similar to that. Usually it'd be whatever films would come in those little cardboard cd cases that they give out free with each copy of one of the big newspapers, so I had a collection of films from my grandma collecting them for me from that. I haven't seen them all for a long long time now so I might have to make a trip to go rewatch them haha
