Looking forward to this, Mad Scientist characters are by far my favorite. There's so much to be done with them an they can fit a protagonist or antagonistic role seamlessly. Some can be sympathetic, pragmatic, straight up evil, psychotic, and insane curiosity. They are just so much fun in writing.
I like that the mad scientist can usually represent obsession for something that is generally considered good. You don't really hear concerns from others about getting too smart or wanting to learn. I also like the knowledge vs wisdom discussion.
