An added aspect of this is that, by coming out, the Royal Family has to support him or appear homophobic. So Wille has given himself more public power than he had before.
@@jacquiehahn4910 I think he definitely has the potential to be, and he's growing into it. I'm really glad that the storyline doesn't seem to be heading toward abdication because he could be really great as future king.
@Rule 230 Yes, they'll need to support his relationship with Simon specifically, too. Frankly, Wille shouldn't get much backlash for lying about the video. He's 16 and in the public spotlight. Most people will assume he was pressured by his position/his parents to keep quiet or say that he's a kid who shouldn't have to force himself out of the closet one way or another. With Sara going to the police about August, that's proof of the "Royal family" working against Wille and his relationship. The Queen, etc. would need to publically support her son/condemn August to avoid an even worse scandal.
@@elizabethgates7024 He did something smart in his speech which was not to blame the Royal Family for his denial so that they can still save face. He said he lied because he was scared, not because he was forced to.
@@leiapedro933 The queen ist still gonna be so mad at him, but she definitely found her match in him - which ist what she wanted! She wanted him to be brave and smart and able to handle the stress, and boy did he show her. I was thinking the same thing as the OP - what a power move. He said it on live television, they can't take that back without looking bad. I am SOOOO excited for season 3, it's not gonna be easy for Simon but Wilhelm ist gonna be a lot happier and growing more comfortable in his role as crown prince. That's what I hope for anyway.
Simon telling Wille that he loved him, loved him enough to be his secret, just gave Wille so much courage, a feeling of validity. Could Wille say "I love you too, more than ever" in any bigger way? It was a beautiful ending. Absolutely gagging for S3.
Yes, exactly. I think it gave Wille the courage to make a sacrifice as large as the one Simon just made for him. It took them both compromising for them to be together.
Also notice how easily he could speak publicly when he was being honest, speaking from his heart. None of the nervousness that stopped him from speaking in class, just a very articulate young man telling his truth to, well, the world.
I love that Simon first agrees to keep it a secret, which means he actually understands Willie's position and struggles. And then Wille in turn realising he'd rather not keep it a secret himself. Without any pressure to out himself then and there. In the first season they had a lot of chemistry, but they didn't really try to see the others perspective. This season they've grown.... I can't wait for season 3.
I'm so glad that you guys noticed that the sexuality side of the story isn't the side that causes the problems Wille and Simon face. It's the class issues. I think that's a lot of what makes this series so good, but a lot of people don't notice it.
One of the things I love about the series is that Wille’s sexuality is actually never named, because (as you said) it’s not the main “issue” of the show… we don’t know if he’s gay or bi or whatever, but that doesn’t really matter… what matters is his relationship with Simon and all the things around it… and tbh I think that’s also a great piece of representation, since a lot of people get into queer relationships even before they settle in a certain “label” and I love that for the show
@@lynnhettrick7588 what are you talking about? edvin hasn't said anything of the sort - and it isn't fair to put any pressure on people to do so. has no one learnt from the awful treatment of kit connor?
The writer, Lisa, said that she always thought of Young Royals as a 3 parts/3 seasons series and that it's an honour that Netflix has let her and her team do it as it was conceived. ❤️ Hope they start filming s3 soon!!!
This ending was like a bomb... Wilhelm didn't have to say it back, his look and touching did say it at all. And don't forget, Sara is the only one who saw August posting the video. There are so many questions and dramas for S3. Can't wait to it see, hoping there will be finally a better time for their relationship. Thanks for your work guys! Love it (also I missed some parts like the discussion between Sara and Felice in their room)!
Tbh I don't think Wille even thought about saying it in words here. Like it was the clearest thing in the freaking world (plus he said it first) He was just basking ❤
this ending is beautiful Simon finally saying "I love you" back and Wille returning it by giving Simon what I feel is the greatest protection he could offer like mans basically said "I, the Crown Prince of Sweden, love this boy, and if my family objects they're homophobic" it's dangerous to be hopeful when it comes to this show but I feel like Simon would be untouchable at least from a political and social standpoint from now on
The shotgun confrontation between Wilhelm and August reminds me of a joke I heard once: The King of Sweden was hunting moose in the woods with one of his pages. They came to a clearing where another man appeared suddenly at the far end. As the king raised his rifle, the man shouted, "I'm not a moose!" but the king still fired a shot, killing the man instantly. Stunned, the page asked his king, "Sire, why did you shoot him? He said: 'I'm not a moose.'" "Oh," said the king, "my mistake. I thought he said: 'I am a moose.'" I think this may be a joke Norwegians tell.
I absolutely loved that Simon agreed to keep their relationship private, because he finally understood Wille's circumstances and it showed that he's ready to make a united front with him and face all the challenges together, instead of blaming each other for everything that happens. He's grown, and he actually still loves him. And Wilhelm wanted to run from his position, to abdicate, to hide in the closed, but finally found the confidence and the courage to stand there and fight for a change in society, embracing his responsibility as a future monarch. That's freaking bold))
The food on the table is a slice of bread with butter and a slice of hard cheese, it looks like that because it's been left uneaten in room temperature for a few hours - it's a show don't tell of how long Simon has sat there, and that he's too distressed to eat.
i feel that because alex was suspended at the time the video was filmed and leaked, august’s plan won’t work. there is no chance that alex will actually go to prison for him with literal CP crimes. also, sara is a witness. she saw august post the video. in conclusion, august is super dumb and super awful.
Also, the Crown Prince is now officially a victim in the CP video, so this case just got way bigger than it was before. And Wilhelm will now also be asked to make a police statement and August actually confessed to him and wrote him loads of texts apologizing. He also confessed to Sara.
It might have worked when it was still only Simon because rich people be rich and priviledged so they could just pay people off (especially because royal family would most likely back August) but now that Wille admitted he is also in the video the case would be under way more scrutiny and people will take Wille's word over August's.
"The Palace" is the name given to the common room thingy. It was where Wilhelm was summoned to with the key, for the drugs binge and being accepted into The Society.
@@darktwistedlady Yes, that's what I meant. A room for them to party in etc. I was just trying to say it's not the Royal Palace, like some people think.
After this, reacting to SKAM seems like a natural progression, it’s also a Scandi show and shares lots of things with YR that made it so good: teens playing teens, amazing performances, being realistic (SKAM’s format was the way it was for that specific reason), etc etc. Hope you choose it 🤗🤗
i commented the same. they could also just watch season 3, the previous ones aren't needed to understand it. absolutely loved that show, it had a huge impact on me when i was younger esp in terms of finding my own identity
I've always thought that the step back taken by Simon when he decides to accept the secrecy of the relationship with Wilhelm, made after the events in which Wille has however shown that he cares deeply about him, has a completely different meaning from what it would have had if he had accepted the same condition in the first season. Back then, there was no trust between them, rather a betrayal by Wilhelm had just occurred, and Simon was broken with grief. In this finale of S2 their relationship has strengthened, each of them has given something to meet the other, Simon's declaration of love completed the picture and gave Wille a definitive inner push. It chased away the fear. Emotional maturity I believe is a fundamental (or desirable) requirement to get out of the closet without being eaten up by the fear of the consequences. I thought "here you are, Wille. Now let them (your mother, the court, anyone out there) deal with their own reactions. And maybe do some self-examination on their own embarrassment." What could happen to a self-declared gay crown prince now? Any type of repression or anomalous measure would be there for all to see, worldwide. Well played, Wille
Worth saying that Alexander’s confession would never work because Wille has tons of text messages from August apologizing, Sara heard him directly admit to doing it, he apologized directly to the Queen for it, and the police knows the video was published directly from a school computer because we saw them taking the computer away from the school library at the end of last season. The actual threat is Simon’s dad’s name on the drug bottles. 😬
It's just one drug bottle. The rest was confiscated by the head mistress from Alexander and apparently had no name on them or she would have already contacted the Erikssons. And their dad was at the Lucia celebration at school, so he could have easily forgotten his drug bottle there after taking his pills.
@@gerganakantcheva8176 They could try that defense for sure, but it would depend whether or not they believe August that that particular bottle was one of the originals. There’s probably text messages between him and Simon about the drugs situation as well, which might be enough for proof that Simon was involved. Fingers crossed that it all goes well in season three.
@@JustWanderingAugust is an 18 year old adult who knowingly bought booze and drugs from a minor, so the drug thing would backfire. I think he only used it to scare Simon from going to the police and he succeeded in that...
@@gerganakantcheva8176 He would definitely get himself in extra trouble, but the question is whether he'd want to bring Simon down with him out of pure spite.
@@JustWandering But Simon didn't go to the police, so why would August get himself in extra trouble to bring him down when he's a minor and didn't do anything against August?
I loved this episode and how Wilhelm started his revolution! The therapist looked pretty proud. 😊 It’s always cool to see your reactions and fun for me, because I can see my own emotions on your faces. 😄Can’t wait for season 3. I‘d like to recommend you to watch and react to the movie In From The Side. I love it! It got me pretty emotional.
Your reactions are the greatest, from hilarious to really on point when it comes to the deep subjects. It has been so lovely to watch the two seasons with both of you. YR was rewarded the TV show of the year at the Swedish QX gay gala 2023, as well as Edvin (Wille in the show) TV star of the year. Simon and Wilhelm opened up the QX gala night and Omar did a very sexy termination of the gala night.
Loved your reactions to this season. My favorite part about the ending of S2 is Wilhelm is essentially saying, "Fuck closets. I don't want to be in one anymore, and I'm not forcing Simon back into one. It'd make him so unhappy and he deserves better. I don't want him to be my secret." Season 2 was PERFECT IMO. I'm so happy we're getting a final season, though I wish we'd get more. My major fear for season 3 is a HUGE one. Sara going to the cops about August leaking the tape is great. I love it. It's Sara taking responsibility for her complicity in his August's actions. August could potentiality (though unlikely), be held accountable for what he did. Great stuff. The thing I worry about is if this will lead to an investigation of Simon. Will the cops go after Simon for supplying the booze to Wilhelm's welcoming party? Could he be prosecuted for stealing his dad's pills and having August sell them at Hillerska since August didn't have money to pay Simon for the booze? My biggest fear is that all this joy and emotional/relationship growth will lead to Simon's peril when it's finally Wilhelm and Simon's opportunity to be openly, unashamedly, happily a couple. August paying for Rousseau was sweet and shows that does have genuine feelings for Sara, but August will ALWAYS put himself first. How the hell was she supposed to continue to afford Rousseau, huh? August may have bought her the physical horse, but horses cost to feed, board, vet bills, etc. Thoroughbreds are especially expensive. It shows he did not understand or care about HER life. It was all about him and how Sara made HIM feel. Sara had to put her own fucking food back when her friends thoughtlessly left it for Sara to pay for all of their coffees that one morning. Sara had to use her savings account money to pay for her friends' everyday luxuries. A lot of thoughtless behavior from rich people all around on this show, but it was a particularly thoughtless "gift" from August. The wildest, but most face-saving idea to solve the blackmail for everyone in season 3 (I only want to protect August just to keep Simon from any potential trouble) is if Simon's dad takes responsibility for all of the drugs, booze, and stuff as some kind of atonement for his past unspecified abusive behavior. Yes, Micke being a horrible father/husband who refused help for addiction is enough justification for the level of anger Sara and Simon feel towards him, but I always got the feeling there was a bigger picture there. Their dad is obviously not afraid to be physically violent with them- judging by how he grabbed Simon and slammed him against the wall in S1. I think something major happened in their family before the show. Possibly something bad Micke did against his wife/kids that he should have been turned into the police for, but wasn't for some reason. Micke going to jail for one of his kids would in a fucked up way be him trying to take responsibility for what he hypothetically did bad then. He could finally choose his childrens' wellbeing over himself. Simon never wanted to do that drug shit in the 1st place. August gave him no choice. Simon never would've done it otherwise. He only did the booze stuff because he wanted SARA to get to go to the party to help her have fun and potentially make friends. Every time August did something bad, he knew it was illegal and did it anyway because he's an entitled shit. 100% choice on his end. I know this was TLDR, but season 2 gripped me so hard.
@Dark Twisted Genderplural I totally agree. It's unfortunate that she doesn't know what August plans on doing if he's turned into the police. She doesn't know about Simon providing the booze and pills and how much turning August in is going to backfire for Simon. I still love she's at least attempting to redeem herself.
Also, with Wilhelm refusing to force Simon to be a secret, I feel like maybe him seeing what the “royal environment” did to Sara may have contributed to him making that decision? He’s seen what that environment does to people and the last thing he wants is for Simon to have to hide parts of himself for him. Plus, I think that one of the things that Wilhelm admires the most about Simon is how outspoken and confident he is.
Thanks for getting this reaction out so quick. I love watching your reactions! Now let’s hope, as Omar and Edvin themself said in an interview that we will see Wilhelm and Simon smile in season 3 😊.
Also, to add that: I think in the end, when Simon agreed to be 'secret', they were in a whole different place than before. Thinking back of their discussion in the locker room earlier this season, they hushed and kept it low when someone entered. Now Wille didn't give a f*** about Jan-Olaf to see them. He's not going to hide, he's just not making a public announcement. That's different. People at school know anyway.
Alex's laugh is so contagious I love it 😂 But it makes me turn the volume down lower than I want to watch the video because if I turn it up to the level I want, my ears just gonna die 😂
i loved the gun scene tbh, it was such a nice callback to episode one when August and Wilhelm met, and August went "you know we could probably even get away with murder"
Hey, guys. This is SO much better than your reaction to episode 5, in my opinion. You’re really engaged and invested in the finale and the cuts don’t seem as savage. Thanks for your reactions to season 1 and 2 and I really hope that you will be reacting to Heartstopper season 2 once it arrives, then Young Royals season 3 in due course. Alex, I hope you’re right about what we’re likely to see in YR season 3 and as it’s the final season, I am hoping to see a hopeful resolution which allows Simon and Wilhelm to face whatever comes their way as a united couple. Josh, your predictions are often uncannily correct and I may have to check in with you before I put myself through the inevitable anxiety-fest of the final part of Simon and Wilhelm’s story. I actually had to take a break from season 2 half way through episode 3, it was that stressful!
3:18 The new Amazon Alexander can be set to travel from room to room, providing wake-up calls every morning, including telling you the time, weather, and a short news report. He can also be set to play your favorite song or even tell you a joke!
I actually just realized the reason why Marcus or some other chaperone doesn't need to be here when August is at the shooting range: August is an ADULT.
I'm so glad you boys finally got to this finale! I actually cried the first time I watched it. Such an amazing show! I'm glad we're getting a third series, but sad that it'll be the last. I can't wait to see what you'll be posting next!
I love that you guys now up to date. Been waiting for this vid 🩷 We have had our minds blown for months. I'm still not over it. Bring on season 3 and some happy Wilmon times taking on the world
i just binged your entire young royals series from start to end and i had such a fun time!! y'all were incredibly interesting to watch and i enjoyed how you played off of each other and offered each other feedback on everything. thank you for putting in the hard work to react to every episode. i look forward to your reviews of the third and final season!
Honestly, I just smile every time I see you two have posted a new video. Love you both and keep the videos coming, they really mean a lot to the LGBTQ+ community. 😁
I am finally noticing that it seems Josh has quite an extraordinary memory for the shows he's watched. I am quite bad and I have a friend who is always reminding me of what details occurred and mattered in previous seasons and I am so grateful for it. For the bookended "I love you." from season 1 to 2, I also needed to be reminded. Thank you, Josh.
I was waiting for this video! It was great! Love your reactions. So fun to watch. Definitely loved the ending of Willie going public after Simon was willing to keep it a secret. Shows the power of their love! Interesting too how in these circumstances, I was happy they could at least be together even if in secret whereas usually I would have feel it sad for a queer relationship having to be kept secret, this time I was just happy they’d actually be together! I agree with your perspective on that. But now, it’s out!! Even better. Can’t wait for s3.
To add on to what you guys said at the end, last season felt lile being shot repeatedly, this season feels like were racing for the hospital crashing in the ambulance sometimes. So next season should feel like recovering even if there are bumps along the way.
Thank you for these wonderful videos, I absolutely love to watch you react to this! You always make me smile. I've never been so emotionally attached to a series before so it really is something special. Now I look forward to S3 so I can re-watch it with you 💕
he will have to do that regardless if he has kids or not. His kids wont be considered an heir. For a king/ queen's child to be considered a true heir, they need to be naturally conceived by them and their spouse. Obviously, Wille and Simon can't do that. They could have a dozen kids together but none of them would be considered an heir. The only way for him to have a child considered an heir would be if he married a woman, had a baby with her, divorce her and then resume his relationship with Simon
17:44 it was SO sweet to see your reaction to the final speech ksjkfjdkks i have that exact same smile to that scene!! thank u so much for this ride and i would like to suggest skam as the next content (especially season 3!), byeee
Glad you guys are back, I LOVE your videos; your reaction, comments and analysis are the best! Keep the videos coming! I would recommend „Please like me“. A quirky Australien TV show.
This was a perfect season finale, I’m so excited for whatever’s coming this summer! (For future reactions, I think you’d really enjoy Our Flag Means Death! It has a very different tone and vibe; more comedic, but also has some heartfelt and emotional moments, and it is so good! I binged the whole season in one day)
I loved the message behind all this. In the end, the truth freed them both, Wille and Simon. Not only to be who they are, being with who they want to be, but it also gave them a lot more power in respect to the royal family and their schemes. They'd not dare to replace him with his straight cousin just right after coming out, that would be a too big scandal. And they'd not let August pull his dirty little trick on Simon, when he's now sorts of the official royal crown prince's boyfriend. Crown Prince over cousin.
but if August were to go to the press and expose Simon for giving him the drugs, Wille could face a lot of backlash from the public and be forced to break up with him
I still say August needs help, serious help!! He has no emotional maturity because his mother is neglecting him! I will not excuse all of his choices but the poor baby is sick and no one is paying attention!! Wille stood on the table and said lookie here, lookie here!! I just can't wait to see what's next!
ok so on the police thing: since the royal family is tied into this whole thing for obvious reasons, wilhelm would most likely have to testify or something similar. they said that he is the royal court since he’s the crown prince and we all know he would protect simon. if the drugs came to be a thing, wilhelm would definitely protect simon unless the royal court somehow forced him into submission. sara also saw august post the video so if she testified and brought up the deal she made with august, it’s over for him. august may also try to win sara over still and decide not to pull up the drugs because he realizes it would impact her too, but i HIGHLY doubt that. might happen if the writers decide to give him redemption though. again, doubt that actually happens. also, even if alexander goes through with the whole thing to take the fall for the video being leaked, they threatened wilhelm with it so in theory he could bring that up as well? i’m not sure, but i’m so excited for S3, the writers will do an absolutely amazing job with it and fingers crossed wilhelm and simon can be happy and together for more than part of an episode before they go back to fighting again 💀 also if you’re looking for more series to react to, skam france is a pretty good one. the queer representation doesn’t start until S3, but you can start in pretty much any season without major plot holes. it’s just a little confusing at first when you’re like who is this girl they’re talking to in london, or who are the people living with him, but overall the holes close as the show goes on and it covers a lot of important topics with each season.
14:33 Yes, Wille said it to Simon at the end of S1 and now Simon said it to Wille at the end of S2. I watched a Swedish RUclipsr (a teacher?) who said that the wording for this “I love you” is one that the other person is not expected to say it back, like we would in English.
Im so sad that season 3 is the last season but im also so excited. An even more exciting note. Season 3 is in post production now and has wrapped on filming. Also that moment you can kinda see the panic on simons face but the moment that Willie smiles at him all of that panic disappears. This is truly an amazing show.
its about time that our boys got back together.when simon told wilham he want to be with him and he will waite for him you can tell that wilham was happy that simon said and also when simon said i love you u can see that what wilham realy need that and u can tell wilham love him too.the ending was so powerful wilham did so well with his speech i love when he look at simon and gave him a smail and simon did aswell and then wilham look into the camara it look like this is start of new revolution and now they have each other for support and there love passion and conction is so magic and so powerful that nothing going to keep them apart
Love your reactions. You always bring interesting points. Also, if only the queen was a better mother, she would see that Wilhelm only becomes brave and courageous, despite his anxiety, when he is with Simon or fighting for and about Simon. She should have capitalized on that. Like, ok, you can be together, but you have to do all this. You can't really pressure a rebellious teenager or shite will happen. Which is now the case. Royal house burning. 😂
there was a short bit of time before they announced the third and final season that we had to grapple with this possibly being The Ending. and like yeah, it would've been okay, but after all of this they deserve to be together and happy, in the open!
I just finished watching your reactions and I can't tell you how happy I was that you saw through Marcus! Most of the other reactions I've watched think he is wonderful. He is patronizing and manipulative.
Now that Yong Royals is temporarily wrapped up, I'd love love looove it if you'd consider watching Eyewitness (2016) It was probably one of the first series with lgbt themes that I ever saw and it's such a shame that there's barely any reactions to it out there x'3 Great video as always
Hello royals Interesting you think they spent more than one time, because of their behavior. I feel it was only the afternoon or at most the night, because Simon has already rdv with his mum for the police before they met, and because Wille asks him to stay a bit longer. I don't know, just a feeling. Alexander has a strange strategy, by accepting to take the blame for a sexual crime. If it is for connection, Wille could have been more useful. I understand he is angry at Wille, but his decision feels stupid. also I don't think the threat is real, but just to discourage Simon to go, because Alexander was already arrested when the video was recorded, so the plot is lame. and the boys could figure that out. The gun scene I was shocked too. Well August is an adult, being a third year, he is 18, as Marcus. But it is still crazy. some people have noticed that Wille secured the gun not to shoot, but either way, I don't enjoy this side of him. Simon seems shocked, and Felice asks Wille what is he doing, but yes too much acceptance here. Surprising, August with a gun on his head stays loyal to Sara, incredible! I see what Marcus wants to say. Simon is a victim, as you say, but as most of the characters, because they go though a lot. I love Simon, but I feel too that he has a tendency to think he is the only one who suffers. For instance in ep5 when he tells Wille that he doesn't seem to be in pain because of the video, he doesn't acknowledge that he is not the only one who could suffer. Simon compromises about the secrecy, or more the privacy (not public) of their relation is an interesting point. As you say it depends of the circumstances. The show is very good to tell there is not one way to see things, many perspectives are valid. In a "normal, modern" circumstance, where a private person is ashamed of his sexuality, or just not out yet, the partner reaction to stop would be the expected reaction. But here this is not the issue, the issue is he loves a person who has a restricted life, with no say in it, no opinion, no action for himself, no "will" (aha). This restricted person has no desire to hide Simon, is not ashamed of him at all, but suffers from external homophobia from the system his family imposes on him. so I guess Simon could say he doesn't accept it, but at the end if Wille worth the effort, and trusts him, maybe they can make it work. It worth to try. But you can see at their moment that Wille is not happy that Simon gave up on his principle, even if it is for them. I feel it is part of what decided him to break the silence, loosing Simon truth was to much to bear. Yes Wille's speech was beautiful. Being capable to say his truth was a relief, even just for himself. i also like he didn't accuse anyone, but just assumed he was not brave enough before, and also wanted to keep his love private. Yes finally they team up. They are both sure to want to be in this difficult relationship now. I feel they could be strong and smart together. I think they will need it, because the royal family will try to crush them one way or another. Maybe sending Wille in another country to separate them, or make him abdicate because he can't stand the pressure or other bulshit. I agree season 1 and 2w ere different, and rightfully so, because they had each season their purpose: s1 was the story set up, the first story part = the love friendships and enemies setting, with sadness & sweetness of Wilmon love discovery. While season 2 was the story development = fights, breaks, adventures, with mostly hurt from Wilmon. I guess we can expected for the season 3 and last part of the story = the story resolution, one way or another. I hope with Wilmon happiness, but the show has a bitterness tendency so I don't expect too much happiness, but a moderate amount I hope. It was a pleasure following you on YR season 2.
Because it's Young royals and the writers keep throwing us off time and time again , I don't trust Sara to tell the truth to the Police. I don't know i just don't trust her . Can't wait for season 3. Esp after S1 i was so shocked, Heartstopper ( despite Harry and Ben) wholesome and cute as it is helped me with my YR PTSD. Love your reactions and insights . I'd love to see you to react to SKAM Norway, Germany, Belgian, France, but I'm pretty sure you've heard that before.!
I think she will tell the truth to the police. She believed that August was going to turn himself in but he didn’t. Sara and Simon have had a close relationship and Sara wants to fix it. I watched Heartstopper first, then season 1 of YR, then watched both again until YR S2 came out. Heartstopper is my comfort show. When the world is awful, I watch Nick and Charlie fall in love again.
Sara telling the police anything at all can only bring trouble. She doesn’t know why Simon decided not to report it - none of the police stuff was mentioned at the shooting range, so only Willhelm, Simon, August and Alexander know about August’s little scheme. She’s potentially causing a whole world of trouble.
Having to keep it a secret is not just bc of their sexuality, also about class. The real crown princess of sweden had to keep her relationship with her now husband a secret for a long time, partly bc he is a commoner, his parents were a teacher and a social worker. It took years before they could get married.
Tim cook, the CEO of Apple, is gay. About the lgbtq+ certified therapists, I know it sounds weird, and might even be funny to think about it, but it's actually quite important. Where I live in Portugal, I personally struggle to find a therapist who even knows what being queer means, or anything about the lgbtq+ community really. And being queer is an integral part of who I am. It's hard to open up to someone who might not even know what I am talking about, or who might even not be very friendly about it. If I had the chance to choose a therapist who is either a part of the community, or has researched about gender/sexuality etc and has focused on lgbtq+ issues, I would definitely do it. Loved this video, you always make great content! I watch a lot of reaction videos and you are some of the people with the best insights about what you are watching. Probably an unpopular suggestion, but you could react to L Word Gen Q (although it has some "adult" content). xo
I actually ended up loving the end of this season even though I had some issues throughout. Mainly just wanted more from Felice. I felt like her whole story revolved around Wilhelm. For next series I HIGHLY recommend Bad Buddy! It’s a Thai series and is sooo good. Others have reacted to it too and it’s only a couple years old
yes there is a season 3 and its final season is in production it could came out the end of this year or early 2024 i just went on line and i just read it
Great finale. Simons "I love you" made Wilhelm stronger, and he didn't need to keep it a secret anymore, now he'll just find a way to handle people knowing, but smart that he didn't mention the royal family/him being forces to lie, but just said he wanted things private, so they don't lose face. Now I think season 3 will be about Saras redemption, how Simon and Wille goes from here, and August getting What's coming to him(let's see if he'll bring up the drug situation and what effect it'll have on Simon etc, because I think, he'll do almost anything to save his own skin, but he could be so broken/cornered in the end, that he'll confess, I don't know)
There have been queer kings and queens in British (and Swedish) history, but obviously no one since the modern queer liberation movement. Edward II, James I, Queen Anne and in Sweden Queen Christina immediately come to mind. There are also rumours about Richard I the Lionheart.
@@gerganakantcheva8176 yah, it was pretty public. Open is a 20/21 century concept and the idea of a specific sexual orientation wasn’t really understood or accepted as fact. James I, for example, had several children with his queen, but had a very obvious sexual/romantic affair with his male ‘favourite’ the Duke of Buckingham. Edward II was overthrown by his wife and her lover because he had at least two significant male favourites who he showered wealth and power onto. Queen Christina of Sweden abdicated the throne because she refused to marry a man and have children, preferring to be with her female lady in waiting she was in love with. Queen Anne wrote love letters to her chief lady in waiting, Sarah Churchill, which Churchill had published after she was replaced in the queen’s affections. All of these rulers were known to be queer, but they personally didn’t openly acknowledge it in so many words. There were rumours about Prince Edward when he was a young man but since he married Sophie, those have died down and no one brings it up any more. He was never likely to be in line to rule and it would be next to zero chance now, so even if he was and did come out it wouldn’t make any difference.
In Sweden Gustav V (great grandfather of our current king) comes to mind. He was in a relationship with a pretty shady guy, and that guy's wife asked for a divorce, and in her reason for the divorce she claimed that her husband had cheated on her, with the King. The court paid her to change that statement, but this couple continued to extort money, in total 1.3 million SEK (in today's money), which is about £104000. (The Haijby scandal). There was a TV-series about this "En kunglig affär" (A Royal Affair) but that's not available with subtitles anywhere that I'm aware of.
People talk a lot about the future of monarchies nowadays, but this could be the answer. Openness about gender identity, sexual orientation, choosing who to date and marry, no rules , just a job like any other. And at the same time, no free privileges for those that don't work for the monarchy, then it becomes a choice to have the duty or not.
As always, absolutely love you guys. Suggestions for future commentaries on queer content, if you’re looking: Tick Tick Boom, Rocketman, The Bastard Son And The Devil Himself, The Favourite, Everything Everywhere All At Once, Black Mirror: San Junipero, and Last of Us: Episode 3. ❤️
But wasn’t Alexander in police custody for the drugs when August posted the video? August can’t try to pin the blame on him for the video, I mean, you can’t have a better alibi than that? Guess we will see next season
We don't know if Alexander wasn't already on his way back to his room to pack his things when August filmed the video but Alexander was definitely already expelled and out of the school when the video was posted from the school's computer. Wille and Simon don't know though that the investigation already determined that the video was posted from the school's computer. Sara is the only witness. So with Sara reporting the crime Alexander taking the blame is impossible. Also August confessed to both Sara and Wille and Wille has now officially admitted that he's one of the victims in the video so he can now make his own police statement.
August is an adult, he's 18 close to 19 and he was the one who was supposed to have the gun, that's why Marcus (18) didn't supervise him like he did with Felice and Wille (both 16) when they were at the shooting range in Episode 2.
An added aspect of this is that, by coming out, the Royal Family has to support him or appear homophobic. So Wille has given himself more public power than he had before.
It's been said in another reaction series that Wille is actually a bloody smart 'politician'. And he's played a blinder here.
I agree. It seems to be more of an issue of class and status.
One of the things I love about the series is that Wille’s sexuality is actually never named, because (as you said) it’s not the main “issue” of the show… we don’t know if he’s gay or bi or whatever, but that doesn’t really matter… what matters is his relationship with Simon and all the things around it… and tbh I think that’s also a great piece of representation, since a lot of people get into queer relationships even before they settle in a certain “label” and I love that for the show
@@lynnhettrick7588edvin's unlabeled? When?
@@lynnhettrick7588 what are you talking about? edvin hasn't said anything of the sort - and it isn't fair to put any pressure on people to do so. has no one learnt from the awful treatment of kit connor?
"The Royal Family is really good at covering up accidents. Right, August?" 🤨
Wilhelm decided to burn down the entire Royal Kingdom just after hearing Simon say "I Love You"
Exactly my thoughts, the crown prince has it bad. 😂❤
The writer, Lisa, said that she always thought of Young Royals as a 3 parts/3 seasons series and that it's an honour that Netflix has let her and her team do it as it was conceived. ❤️
Hope they start filming s3 soon!!!
10:51 “I don’t care what anyone says, he is the victim” preach!
Like it was the clearest thing in the freaking world (plus he said it first)
He was just basking ❤
this ending is beautiful
Simon finally saying "I love you" back and Wille returning it by giving Simon what I feel is the greatest protection he could offer
like mans basically said "I, the Crown Prince of Sweden, love this boy, and if my family objects they're homophobic"
it's dangerous to be hopeful when it comes to this show but I feel like Simon would be untouchable at least from a political and social standpoint from now on
The shotgun confrontation between Wilhelm and August reminds me of a joke I heard once:
The King of Sweden was hunting moose in the woods with one of his pages. I thought he said: 'I am a moose.'"
I think this may be a joke Norwegians tell.
One of the most satisfying finales I've ever seen. Your reactions are the best.
He also confessed to Sara.
yes! definitely!
Wait what!!!! Alex is in prison....Josh You must do something to get him out, he will never survive in there!!! 😂😂😂
@@tombottomley7778 LMAO
It might have worked when it was still only Simon because rich people be rich and priviledged so they could just pay people off (especially because royal family would most likely back August) but now that Wille admitted he is also in the video the case would be under way more scrutiny and people will take Wille's word over August's.
"The Palace" is the name given to the common room thingy. It was where Wilhelm was summoned to with the key, for the drugs binge and being accepted into The Society.
No it's an abandoned factory quite a walk away from Hillerska which the Hillerska boarders have donned up into a place to party.
Hope you choose it 🤗🤗
i commented the same. they could also just watch season 3, the previous ones aren't needed to understand it. absolutely loved that show, it had a huge impact on me when i was younger esp in terms of finding my own identity
yes 1000x
Yes!!!
Yes yes yes!
This!!
Thank you for being empathetic towards Simon. He's has gotten so much disrespect this season.
And maybe do some self-examination on their own embarrassment."
What could happen to a self-declared gay crown prince now?
Micke taking responsibility would be great, but I think Sara will do it to make amends for hurting Simon.
@@RedBanana_you couldn’t have said it any better. Simon is just unapologetically himself. He doesn’t care about what think of him. Very nice to see❤❤
Thanks for getting this reaction out so quick. I love watching your reactions! Now let’s hope,
as Omar and Edvin themself said in an interview that we will see Wilhelm and Simon smile in season 3 😊.
Great reaction! Love your conversations. Loved the end of this 2nd season as much as you do
Alex's laugh is so contagious I love it 😂
But it makes me turn the volume down lower than I want to watch the video because if I turn it up to the level I want, my ears just gonna die 😂
i loved the gun scene tbh, it was such a nice callback to episode one when August and Wilhelm met, and August went "you know we could probably even get away with murder"
A lot of people said it already, but yeah, I too would love to relive SKAM (OG) with you ❤
Next: SKAM (the Norway original) Season 3 - Isak & Even

At least we only have to wait until March to pick this back up.
To add on to what you guys said at the end, last season felt lile being shot repeatedly, this season feels like were racing for the hospital crashing in the ambulance sometimes. So next season should feel like recovering even if there are bumps along the way.
oh i was looking forward to this and y'all didn't dissapoint!! thoroughly enjoyed your entire yr reactions and can't wait for season 3 to drop :)
Thank you for these wonderful videos, I absolutely love to watch you react to this! You always make me smile. I've never been so emotionally attached to a series before so it really is something special. Now I look forward to S3 so I can re-watch it with you 💕
Looking forward to seeing wille and Simon as working together and being open about their relationship in s3 😭
Wille, if he doesn't have any kids of his own, could always name August's future children his heirs, bypassing that ghastly creature altogether.
he will have to do that regardless if he has kids or not.
You have to react to Skam (Norway) season 3!
This was a perfect season finale, I’m so excited for whatever’s coming this summer!
(For future reactions, I think you’d really enjoy Our Flag Means Death! It has a very different tone and vibe; more comedic, but also has some heartfelt and emotional moments, and it is so good! I binged the whole season in one day)
omgggg guys you look so goodddd oh wow i loved the crowns!!
I just can't wait to see what's next!
ok so on the police thing: since the royal family is tied into this whole thing for obvious reasons, wilhelm would most likely have to testify or something similar. they said that he is the royal court since he’s the crown prince and we all know he would protect simon. if the drugs came to be a thing, wilhelm would definitely protect simon unless the royal court somehow forced him into submission. sara also saw august post the video so if she testified and brought up the deal she made with august, it’s over for him. august may also try to win sara over still and decide not to pull up the drugs because he realizes it would impact her too, but i HIGHLY doubt that. might happen if the writers decide to give him redemption though. again, doubt that actually happens. also, even if alexander goes through with the whole thing to take the fall for the video being leaked, they threatened wilhelm with it so in theory he could bring that up as well? i’m not sure, but i’m so excited for S3, the writers will do an absolutely amazing job with it and fingers crossed wilhelm and simon can be happy and together for more than part of an episode before they go back to fighting again 💀
also if you’re looking for more series to react to, skam france is a pretty good one. the queer representation doesn’t start until S3, but you can start in pretty much any season without major plot holes. it’s just a little confusing at first when you’re like who is this girl they’re talking to in london, or who are the people living with him, but overall the holes close as the show goes on and it covers a lot of important topics with each season.
I’ve reached the point where I look forward to episodes as much as your following reviews… keep going boys
14:33 Yes, Wille said it to Simon at the end of S1 and now Simon said it to Wille at the end of S2. I watched a Swedish RUclipsr (a teacher?) who said that the wording for this “I love you” is one that the other person is not expected to say it back, like we would in English.
That’s really interesting! Do you have any idea who the RUclipsr is? I’d love to find out more.
It's soo great to see you smiling!! It just never happens with young royals😂
Love your reactions! I hope you’ll consider watching Skam next.
Im so sad that season 3 is the last season but im also so excited. An even more exciting note. Season 3 is in post production now and has wrapped on filming. Also that moment you can kinda see the panic on simons face but the moment that Willie smiles at him all of that panic disappears. This is truly an amazing show.
Season 3 is gonna be WILD
@@AStoryWorthTelling it really is! I just hope there's no death involved in this season. That would be the biggest twist.
Sara could also claim that she was the one that supplied the drugs, since the only evidence is that it's her dad's name on the bottle.
That might be a way to redeem herself in Simon's eyes.
She can testify that August was drug seeking illegally.

Now that Yong Royals is temporarily wrapped up, I'd love love looove it if you'd consider watching Eyewitness (2016)
It was probably one of the first series with lgbt themes that I ever saw and it's such a shame that there's barely any reactions to it out there x'3
Great video as always
Hello royals
Interesting you think they spent more than one time, because of their behavior.
@@lynnhettrick7588 I hope she does the right thing. Both shows are incredibly unique, i absolutely agree, Nick and Charlie my go to happy place
Now I think season 3 will be about Saras redemption, how Simon and Wille goes from here, and August getting What's coming to him(let's see if he'll bring up the drug situation and what effect it'll have on Simon etc, because I think, he'll do almost anything to save his own skin, but he could be so broken/cornered in the end, that he'll confess, I don't know)
Cannot wait for seasons 3 and the reactions to it
Can we just take a moment to re-watch 24:32 on the episode 5 reaction!!! My opinion... Josh is 🔮 saison 2 finale 😳😂😂
Always the best reactions!
There have been queer kings and queens in British (and Swedish) history, but obviously no one since the modern queer liberation movement. Edward II, James I, Queen Anne and in Sweden Queen Christina immediately come to mind. There are also rumours about Richard I the Lionheart.
But was anyone of them openly queer and in a public relationship?
I've always wondered if August has some dirt on Alexander and that's why he can push him around.
Btw the party place off campus that the students go to is called the “palace” by the students. Not the Royal palace.
okay im just a few minutes in AND I ALREADY LOVE THIS REACTION! also cant wait for next series/film you’ll react to💗✌🏼
sending love xx
AND NEXT MONTH AUGEST IS THE 3RD AND LAST SEASON COMING OUT SO IT WILL BE VERY INTERESTING AFTER THE SEASON 2 ENDER
You should watch the movie ”Fucking Åmål”. Another swedish queer classic, from the 90’s.
I love that movie
Absolutely love your reactions to this series but guys, you cut the final breaking of the fourth wall! Put it back!
i love the reaction so muchhhh ugh, i really hope you guys will react to the s3!
I have been waiting for your reaction to the gun scene, and you guys did not disappoint. So funny and very good point about no adults.
August is an adult, he's 18 close to 19 and he was the one who was supposed to have the gun, that's why Marcus (18) didn't supervise him like he did with Felice and Wille (both 16) when they were at the shooting range in Episode 2.
Thank you for this! When the music starts at the end, it gives me goosebumps everytime ❤️
I really hope you will watch skam season 3 ❤️
