Hi Sarah. I absolutely LOVE your videos. You are so intentional about your makes and how you match your fabrics etc. As a new sewer I find this so inspiring especially when you talk through your thought processes and your toiles. I toile everything and thought I was just wasting time. But watching your process and how beautifully everything turns out I realise I must "stay the course". 😆
Oh thank you much! I find making without toiling stressful as I like to put as much effort as I can into the final garment and it’s a real shame then if it doesn’t fit!! Pleased to meet another toiler!! 🥰😂
Lovely vlog as always. I am a Libran too and I am indecisive, faced with a choice I buy both and deciding on a pattern I am hopeless so I do understand your dilemma. I like your style and I am sure that whatever you make will be a success.🌹🌹🌹
Some great plans. I love the idea of the striped fabric for the long version of the Sienna Maker’s jacket. I’ve made the Beryl Bomber dress and really like it. I had to make a lot of adjustments to get it to fit my square shoulders, but it was definitely worth it.
Ooh thank you. That’s good it hear from someone who has made it. I have pretty puny shoulders, so hopefully I shouldn’t have to make too many adjustments there!!
I really admire your vision Sarah. I like the faux suede fabric and can see a shacket or denim style jacket in that if you change your mind. Enjoy your retreat and I'm looking forward to the results.
Ah thank you so much! Yes I completely agree about the suede being used for a jacket, that’s definitely in my mind if I’m careful with my fabric use for the dress then I can maybe get a jacket out too. As you’ve seen my plans are often subject to change 🤦♀️😂
😂 thank you, glad I’m not alone! Yes I did consider dyeing the fabric but have a feeling that parts of it will be stubborn and still show through 🫣🤭😂. I’m going to use it as it is and see how I feel once it’s made up! 🥰
The Sienna Maker jacket is great ~ I have made the full length in plain linen last year and I have one cut ready for spring in a pattern linen. Also I have a plain linen one cut out of the jacket version ready for spring too .
Gorgeous fabrics and plans. Cannot wait to see your Soliflore- I have the pattern but cannot decide on a fabric. I admire your discipline re fabrics. I spent all my Xmas money and more! Also patterns. In the middle of major sewing room sort out (having work done which means lifting floorboards - aaargh😫) and I have more fabric than I thought!! Like you, I procrastinate with some of them and end up moving on to something else. Note to Libyan self- be more focused 😅. Enjoy your weekend - it sounds marvellous but not sure how much sewing will get done 😂😂😂. Lynne
😂 thank you!! Looks like a lot of us are the same really when it comes to fabric! 😂. Being focused is easier said than done with all that choice…🫣😆. Sewing room sort outs while hard at the time are always a good sewjo boost!! Hope yours is sorted soon thank you.
Ah you need to get it made up!! That is one of my all time favourite hoodies to wear, it’s a shame to have it languishing in your stash (says she! 🫣🤦♀️😂). Thank you Xx
I really like the new striped fabric. The pattern is great. I personally would make it shorter. What we used to call car coat length. I also understand about your fabric stash. 😅😅😅 My husband keeps threatening to throw it all out. I tell him I have a shotgun 🤬🤬🤬 Have fun shopping! ❤❤❤❤
😂 that’s made me giggle - thanks so much for the understanding! Yes I agree with you it needs to be car coat length, any longer and I will definitely be straying into Joseph and his dream coat territory! 🌈 🥰😂
Hi from France, I am new to your channel. I loved your Pogonip top very inspiring. I also am in love with Maison fauve patterns but as a beginer I am taking it slow. I love the soliflor dress and your wearable toile is gonna look great. I am looking forward to your experience. Cara seems to be a great sewist, I am sure she will guide you well. Those buttons are brill too. I love little vintage details like that. Have a wonderful time at the retreat, I am looking forward to finding out how you all got on, enjoy.🧵🪡♥
Ah thank you so much! And welcome! Yes I think you’re right to take things slowly at first and build up confidence with different techniques. I’m really looking forward to making the Soliflore, I also love Maison Fauve and there are so many beautiful French pattern companies I want to try too. 🥰
Fabulous VLOG Sarah. Oh how I can understand the ‘precious’ fabric dilemma. I have some fabrics over 20 years old, silk mostly , that I am scared t9 sew up for exactly the same reasons as you. You have spurred me on to just go for it. ❤
Oh I’m so pleased! I realised that I’d had some fabrics for 7 years in the stash which I could have been enjoying wearing! There is always that bit of fear though, I understand that totally and think that’s probably why I toile so much, to make absolutely sure I will like what I make. Good luck with sewing up your fabrics, silk is beautiful and is made to be worn!! Thank you!! 🥰
Hello from Atlanta, Georgia! 🇺🇸 I just today found your channel and enjoyed it tremendously. I have two gorgeous pieces of ultra suede many years old that I love looking at but am afraid to cut! I have vowed to use my stash in 2024 and not buy any fabric. Wish me luck!
Ah welcome and thank you so much!! Yes you are I are on a similar journey (apart from my ‘social buying’😂). I think it’s so important to get on top of our stashes, they can become overwhelming if not! Yes, best of luck with yours and you can see how I get on with mine 🫣🥰😂
Hi Sarah just looking back at this video as I am hoping to make up a Kaya, could you let me know what size you went for please, my bust measurements put me in a 14 on the size chart but then on the next sizing I am a 10 but I wasn't sure if these were finished measurements. L have not made a Fibre Mood pattern before and their instructions are a little vague!! Thank you.
Hi, I agree they’re vague instructions! I’m not near my pattern pieces atm, but I’m pretty sure i made a 12 which at 92 cm is actually slightly less than my bust measurement. Because I took some out of the centre fold to being the shoulders and v narrower, I remember having to add some at the side seams if you know what I mean as the toile was too tight across the bust. Hope that helps, definitely toile with this one!!
Ah thank you so much, yes I think the stripey fabric will definitely be a sienna maker jacket. Such a shame about the boobie fabric 🫣😂. It’s waiting by my sewing table to be cut out into a toile!

I love your pinafore plans!
Those buttons are lovely and will look great on your dress 😊
Thank you, I was so happy to find them!!
So many lovely plans! See u tomorrow ❤
Ah thanks, yes see you tomorrow! 🥰
Great vlog as always love how we in the sewing community have to justify buying fabric looking forward to seeing your Soliflour turn out ❤
Thank you!! Yes it’s finished and ready for the vlog later this week hopefully. It was quite a slow make, but I’m pleased with it x
Lovely vlog as always. I am a Libran too and I am indecisive, faced with a choice I buy both and deciding on a pattern I am hopeless so I do understand your dilemma. I like your style and I am sure that whatever you make will be a success.🌹🌹🌹
Ah thank you so much! Yes I’ve bought both fabrics more than once too! 😂. I need to get deciding and making this year! 💪🏼 🥰😂
You are rocking that print, Sarah. Suits your hair and complexion :)
😁 ah thank you so much! I love an organic print 🥰

I hear you with the procrastination!! I’m terrible for doing it lol. Look forward to seeing how your pinafore turns out xx
😂 thank you, it’s a real block isn’t it?!!! 🤦♀️. I’ve finished the pinafore and am pretty pleased with it, will definitely be making another one. X
Lovely plans as always Sarah. Looking forward to seeing the finished items
Ah thank you so much! 😊
Exciting plans. Well I think you are absolutely amazing for not buying fabric during January. So well done you 🙌❤️💙💜
😂 thank you so much, I think I deserve to buy some as a reward for being so good in Jan 🫣🤦♀️😂😂
Great plans. I’m with you on the procrastination lol. You could always dye the booby fabric.
😂 thank you, glad I’m not alone! Yes I did consider dyeing the fabric but have a feeling that parts of it will be stubborn and still show through 🫣🤭😂. I’m going to use it as it is and see how I feel once it’s made up! 🥰
Oh I love the fabric you have on. Such a fab top 🤩
Thank you. It’s one of my absolute favourites, luckily the fabric washes well, it’s on constant rotation ❤
Great vlog Sarah! Im looking forward to seeing your finished dress! 😊
Ah thank you so much! Hopefully I’ll manage to get it made over the weekend 💚🥰😂
The Sienna Maker jacket is great ~ I have made the full length in plain linen last year and I have one cut ready for spring in a pattern linen. Also I have a plain linen one cut out of the jacket version ready for spring too .
Ooh they all sound great!! Yes I think it’s definitely a good spring pattern. Thank you for sharing!!

Should have said Libyan self!!!
Libran - sorry the autocorrect kept changing it.
Lovely plans.
I love the jumper you are wearing. When I saw it, I was like - I have this fabric in my stash :D

Great vlog Sarah, can’t wait to see what fabric you use. Enjoy your sewing retreat. ❤😊
Ah thank you so much! Hopefully I will get time to sew and have something to show next week 🥰
I often get Ritchie (my husband) to cut into fabric because the fear of making a mistake is real 🙈 😂
😂 poor Ritchie, he must feel the pressure 🫣😂😂😂
@@sewsarahstyle 😂😂 he definitely does bless him xxx

@sewsarahstyle thanks for that, I don't normally do a toile but will for this, I have some calico at the ready 😄
Love this video. Fave wording:
* 5 foot 3 and a squeak
* Boobie fabric
* restricted buying
😂😂😂
😂 thank you! Yes ‘restricted buying’ is definitely the most hilarious of the three… 🫣🤦♀️😂
Have a fab weekend. Lots of beautiful fabric. Maybe the boobie fabric could be used for bag linings or something 😂😂😂
😂 yes that’s an idea! I’ve definitely got enough to make a toile and some left over thank you!! 😊
Hi !!XXX👍👍👍
Hi, thanks for watching!! 🥰
Funnily enough I did not see any boobies,I saw abricotsand oranges and lemons.
Ah yes I think that was the intention of the fabric!! Thank you. Perhaps when I have made the dress I will enjoy wearing it with all the fruits!! 🥰😂
I saw fruits too. 😂🤣
🫣 perhaps it’s just me then! 😂😂😂😂
Yep,me too. I saw fruits 😊
I think both options for the stripey fabric would be wonderful! I am sorry we can't unsee the boobies on your citrus fabric. Happy sewing. -Kelly
Ah thank you so much, yes I think the stripey fabric will definitely be a sienna maker jacket. Such a shame about the boobie fabric 🫣😂. It’s waiting by my sewing table to be cut out into a toile!
Love that marble fabric you have on 🥰 hurray for boobies! It is just hilarious 😂😂
😂 thank you! 🤭🤭🤭
