I don't care anymore about 90 per cent of guitarists I used to listen to, but Murray is still a major source of inspiration to me. Brilliant, exciting, textbook rock guitar solos. To me, he was what Hendrix has been to him, and still is.
Always hear and rightfully so the huge acclaim of 80's players like George Lynch, Warren Demartini, Jake E Lee, Akira Takasaki, Vivian Campbell, and John Sykes. However, Dave is still playing incredible and original music!
My Top 10 Favorite 1. Powerslave 2. The Number of the Beast 3. Alexander the Great 4. Seventh Son of a Seventh Son 5. The Clairvoyant 6. Phantom of the Opera 7. Rime of the Ancient Mariner 8. Paschendale 9. The Reincarnation of Benjamin Breeg 10. Dance of Death
Hi it’s Stacie! This video is Amazing! Dave Murray is sooo adorable and talented! I just get chills (the good kind) when I hear him play guitar! Thank you so much for posting this video!😊
1. caught somewhere in time 2.purgatory 3.killers 5.powerslave 6.seventh son of a seventh 7.transylvania 8.wrathchaild 9.phantom of the opera 10.sign of the cross
He is really rarely mentioned as a great guitar player in any magazines. But he is really classy in his tone, playing, and even compositions... Superb guitar player IMO
1. Alexander the great 2. Aces high 3. Halowed be thy name 4. Prisoner 5.powerslave 6. The man who could be king 7. Weekend warior 8. Trooper 9. Clairvoyand 10. Infinite dreams
I would put 10. Holy Smoke, 9. Prodigal Son, 8. Brave New World, 7. Killers, 6. The Number Of The Beast, 5. Total Eclipse, 4. The Clairvoyant, 3. The Clansman, 2. The Trooper... and 1. Strange World. Nice video! :)
3:08 the 5th place (drifter) is the Janick Gers, Dave since the soles in the quiet part of the music, it's pretty noticeable difference between them soloing. But the list is very good.
1. Alexander the Great 2. The Man who would be king 3. 7th Son 4. Rime of the Ancient Mariner 5. Drifter 6. The Prophecy 7. Benjamin Breeg 8. Strange World 9. Heaven Can Wait 10. The Clairvoyant
Any Dave Murray list that doesn't include the Powerslave solo is just WRONG! Any Iron Maiden list without it is wrong. Any guitar solo list....period....without it .....is just wrong!
The slow powerslave solo should be held in the same hollowed place as comfortably numb. It has so much dam feel. It should be in the top 10 solos of all time. Adrian is my favorite guitarist of all time but Dave is just so dam good. I sometimes feel guilty about liking H more. Hahah. As for powerslave. Dave lulls you I to this awesome sense of tranquility with his legato smoothness in his solo and then Adrian comes in and punches you in the face with an attack that makes you miss your momma. Then Dave comes back with the force to match it. So much goodness. How the hell are we allowed to have these guys in the same band? Dave/Adrian. If you guys ever get bored and read this stuff know that here we are almost 30 years later and that dam song still gives me goosebumps. As I wrote this last sentence your solo from Alexander was playing and it did as well. Hahahah. Awesome.
Glenn is better than pretty much anyone. But Dave is still an amazing player and my favourite from Maiden (even though I think Adrian has the better and more interesting solos I prefer Dave's tone and style).

His solos are flawless, fast, clean and melodic.
Agree, always tasty and in perfect context to the songs!
Dave Murray is class.

my favorite solo with him is in the rime of the ancient mariner
@rodspacer From listening to it. And from other people's observations.
Alexander the Great and Powerslave are my favourites
1. Powerslave 2. Judas be my guide
3:08 the 5th place (drifter) is the Janick Gers, Dave since the soles in the quiet part of the music, it's pretty noticeable difference between them soloing. But the list is very good.
Yup, it is. My list needs some serious reworking anyway.
It's Dennis Stratton
Awesome. Not sure how you could leave Powerslave off this list, but its still pretty solid.
Where is that strange world recording from?
RIMESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS i think is from maiden japan
How is Powerslave not in there?
Where is the number of the beast solo?
awsome!!!! but where is the trooper
Finalnente Alexander the Great!!
hey, why are some of your videos like Top 10 Randy Rhoads solos blocked in my country (US)
Record company policies. It wasn't the case when I uploaded them, but now all Ozzy Osbourne music is immediately blocked.
His solos and the Adrian ones, are little songs into a song...
I'm the master!!!
I need something to where
Powerslave and Phantom of the Opera missing here for me.
Where eagles dare! Simple and great
no prayer solos are the best !
public enema
fates warning

It's from Maiden Japan, their first live album ruclips.net/video/1oCWvRK9CpM/видео.html
@@zorland876 thank u
Try "Top 10 Solos of Adrian Smith."
I actually have one of those. Check out my channel, it's there somewhere.
no number of the beast ?!
Aces high?
Phantom of the Opera??
1. Alexander the Great

8. Strange World
9. Heaven Can Wait

I always thought the Prophecy solo was Adrian? Where did you get it's from Murray?
I love the Caught Somewhere..solo too!
it's from murray
Any Dave Murray list that doesn't include the Powerslave solo is just WRONG! Any Iron Maiden list without it is wrong. Any guitar solo list....period....without it .....is just wrong!
That is a great solo (two great solos really), but I didn't include it because the climax is really a lead-in to Adrian's solo.
The slow powerslave solo should be held in the same hollowed place as comfortably numb. It has so much dam feel. It should be in the top 10 solos of all time. Adrian is my favorite guitarist of all time but Dave is just so dam good. I sometimes feel guilty about liking H more. Hahah.

As I wrote this last sentence your solo from Alexander was playing and it did as well. Hahahah. Awesome.
no powerslave?....that's number one.
powerslave...???
Ha-ha! Strange list. "The Number of the Beast" and "Killers" albums contains the best Dave Murray solos. None of them are here!
Drifter is from Killers.
@@freakazoid4691 We are talk about guitar solos, not songs
Man, the only thing i don't like about ss of a ss is the mixing... the drums sound weak and the guitars muffled, other than that great album
Nice... but where fuck is 22 Acaccia Avenue?
Hellooooo? Powerslave????
Rita Lovett
It’s heartbreaking and beautiful at the same time...
Where's Power slave????? C'mon
Drifter studio version is far better than live version.
This is a pretty strange list not one of his classic guitar solos and I don't think any of these are those top 10 I'm sorry
Poorest possible choices
Glenn tipton is much better. No doubt.
Frederico Leoni i don't think so
Glenn is better than pretty much anyone. But Dave is still an amazing player and my favourite from Maiden (even though I think Adrian has the better and more interesting solos I prefer Dave's tone and style).
